Narrow toe box. Had to return.

Not sure what the person who said the toe box was narrow was expecting, but I HATE narrow toe boxes and this one is nice and roomy. These have great traction and grip, they're comfortable, and I like the look.

Sometimes I have to go half a size down with Saucony, but with these Mad River's my usual shoe size of 8 fit perfect. The toe box is nice and wide, the upper felt very comfortable from the start, and the soles provide just the right amount of cushion without feeling overly supportive or bulky. I like the feeling on the trails - I feel grounded and have nice control on rough terrain. Very good grip also.

I have a wide forefoot and purchased these when my Topos wore out. Several reviewers said these shoes were wide in the forefoot so I decided to try them. For most people these shoes will probably fit fine but they are slightly tight for me across the forefoot because I have bunions. I usually wear an 8.5 but had to exchange for a 9. I am keeping them because the shoe is not rubbing, it is just noticeable across in the front. I like the style and the gray material, and the heel is comfortable. I put in my own orthotics with more arch support.

I usually wear the Peregrine model but decided to try this model. I love the Mad River and will definitely buy them again. They provide more cushioning with the same 4mm drop that my feet prefer.

I have worn several Soucony styles and the MAD River 2 is by far the best for my foot. I'm just sorry you've discontinued this shoe. I love the wider toe box.

This shoe fits my feet perfectly. They are comfortable right out of the box. I have problems with my right foot due to surgery. I recently found a second pair on another site and if I can find another I will get them. Please Soucony bring this shoe back. I've tried other Soucony trail shoes and have been disappointed.

Saucony fan for a couple decades. Love these trail shoes. Nice features. Love the elastic strap to keep laces tamed. Lots of stability. They hold up against the miles

This shoe was made for my foot with the rubber toe wrap above my big toe it keeps it from wearing a hole on the top of the shoe through the fabric. I have always found Saucony thi be the shoe that fits.

I've had a few foot issues and am finicky about my footwear. These Mad River TR2's are phenomenal! No pain, great grip, room for toes. AND then they're discontinued?! Please, for all of us who love them, bring them back!!

I bought my first pair last year and just bought another in grey. I have systemic rheumatoid and these shoes help keep me training through flares. Please bring them back!

These are the most spectacular running shoes I've ever purchased. My feet are wide with huge bunions and I've also experienced a few stress fractures over the years. As someone who has been a runner for more than 25 years, I've tried dozens of running shoes and these surpass anything I've previously worn. The wide toe box is ideal for my bunions and the overall materials and construction are sturdy. The Mad River Tr2 are extremely comfortable and provide great support. I've previously worn the brand Altra specifically for the wide toe box however, my bunions would typically tear through the fabric after only a few months (approximately 100 miles or so).
I will definitely be purchasing another pair of the Saucony Mad River Tr2!! Highly recommend!

I tried a pair and liked it so much I bought another. I like the 4 mm drop and the cushiony sole. It's the only trail footwear I have that doesn't aggravate my metatarsalgia. The grip is the best of any shoe or boot I own. Even feels more secure than my other footwear on loose stones on hardpack, which is pretty amazing. The tread doesn't look like much, but it works. The wide toe box is great. Even though I have narrow feet, I appreciate toe room on a long day on the trail. There is just the right amount of arch support for my flat feet. The only issue I have is minor - the upper near my ankle seems to be too long or something. Bunches a bit around the tongue. Doesn't affect fit or comfort at all though. I hope Saucony keeps this model pretty much as it is for future versions.

I bought a pair of these when they first came out. Now bought another because apparently Exodus, my favorite hiking shoe, is being closed out. These are great, nice roomy toe box and good firm cushiony sole. I think I'm gonna buy another in this color. I so love Saucony! No more plantar fasciitis now. Usually walk or hike 3-5 miles every day.

Bought these 3 months ago, when I transitioned from running on asphalt to trail running. My old shoes were REALLY old - like 6 years I think. So the difference I felt on my first run in these shoes was seriously incredible. The wide toe box is great, they fit like they were made for my feet, they're very springy and I can still feel the ground really well through them which is important for me. But the best part about them is the tread!! I've never had such grippy shoes before. I run some pretty steep, rocky and mountainous trails and I've literally only slipped 3 times - always on very steep gravel slopes. And I run at least 2 miles a day 6 days a week in these so that's pretty impressive. This really is my favorite pair of running shoes I've found.

Plenty of toe space and room for a wide foot. Great heel stability and arch support too. Very comfortable from the get go.

Super comfy! I am coming from wearing Excursions the past few years, but I recently began transitioning to shoes with a lower heel-to-toe drop, and wider toebox. These fit the bill for a familiar feel, but with much more toe room and a more level sole. What I like in comparison to some other brands is that there is some cushioning, but it's not soft and squishy feeling when you walk. It's just right!

I have a low volume foot, but like space for my toes to spread. Sadly, other brands with wide toeboxes were either too minimal, too stiff, or otherwise not quite right. I ran in the Xodus ISO (2?) in 2020 and liked it (burly, good traction, cushioned), but it was a smidge too narrow after my feet swelled on a 19 miler, and rubbed my pinky toe. VERY HAPPY with the MAD RIVER: plenty of space for my toes, decent grip, moderate cushioning (I might need something more supportive 20+ miles). Note, it is definitely less grippy than Peregrine or Xodus on super thick & slick mud; but I haven't fallen down, and it's just fine on moderate mud. Plus, spring is coming, and the trails will slowly dry up over the summer. The width is great. The length might be a tiny touch short, but I have no blisters or toe rub yet with 125 miles in my normal size. There are elastic shoelace keepers on the tongue. Thick shoelaces hold well. Tongue is appropriately padded. No velcro on the heel for gaiters, but a good spot to add this if you like. I don't mind girly colors, but also loving the evergreen color scheme on my pair.

A great pair of trail shoes that are light. I will wear for regular walks also. I don't think it states on the site there are places in the bottom of the sneaker that can be drilled to put screws in for traction or to release water. The drill sizes are in the sole

Not a runner - I hike in these. Superb traction almost everywhere (slippery rocks are still my nemesis though). Really comfortable shoe, good support/cushion - no feeling rocks and sticks under foot, no debris getting in shoes at all, so far. Comfortable on street too. Did I mention the fantastic no-slip tread? Saucony, please don't redesign these and screw them up like you did Xodus (RIP).
