Unfortunately, they were too big for me; yet, they are BEAUTIFUL, well made, and I'll try another size! I like the blue color. I have a spine injury needing very serious surgery I keep postponing, and they felt as though they would give me the support I need. I would love to see them on sale though when I reorder another size.

These are my go to boots when hillwalking or scrambling. The lace lock system allows me to have the top half of the boot looser or tighter if needed, whilst stopping the bottom coming loose. Comfy straight from the box and grippy on all terrain - highly recommended!

I have worn the Salomon 4d in the past, but it wore out too quickly. I then switch the the alp-x which I loved, but unfortunately they are no longer made. The last year I have tried the Lowa Renagade & La Sportiva Nucleuo, but they just didn't fit my foot well & wore down quickly. I do a lot of hiking off trail while hunting and scouting in the mountains year round & need a boot that will last many miles on rough rock terrain. I have high hopes that the new and improved Salomon 4D will have a bit more durability, but time will tell. I can say that only 40miles in & these boots are the most comfortable thing I have worn in awhile! I don't feel the rough terrain, my feet feel great after hiking all day & they seem to be holding up. Honestly, even if they only last a year I would buy again because I am hard on boots & my feet are finally not hurting after long days. My normal shoes size is 8.5 & in Salomon I am a 8.5 as well because they run a little big. My toes have plenty on room in the toe box while my heel fits well in the heel cup.

falling apart after 2 months: Rubber sheath around toe is peeling off on both sides of booth. Only used twice. 2nd Salomon boot that has fallen apart. Wondering about the quality in general now.

I have been wearing my Salomon Ultra 3s pretty much every day for walking and hiking and absolutely love them, decided to go for a boot and these seemed super comfy in store unfortunately the amount of dirt and leaves and stones it flicks down the back of the shoe is ridiculous. I have tried everything to stop this but as the back of the boot drops down even on a 3 mile walk I have to stop about 3 times to empty out all the rubbish. An expensive boot and now I'll be buying another pair of shoes!

I absolutely loved these boots! My last 2 pairs were the X Ultra 3 Mid GTX Hiking Boots, both of which failed after a year, but since I hike every weekend I assumed upgrading to these would be a good solution, but these lasted half as long. From May to November I confidently sloshed through streams and puddles, enjoying dry feet and great traction. That was until this past weekend. I felt a bit of a breeze as soon as I laced them up and my right foot was quite wet by the time I'd finished the hike. I rinsed them off to see what the problem was to find that the rubber sealing around both toe boxes was peeling off, and had opened a hole in my right boot for water to seep in. Three strikes and you're out.

I'm an avid hiker, backpacker and I volunteer with search and rescue and I love these boots. I've never had to break these shoes in. The waterproofing is excellent. I've spent hours crawling around damp forests while raining and my toes are dry. And that's even after the leather was scored by blackberry bushes. I love how the lace hooks are designed, I have very high arches and I can keep the laces over my instep loose while keeping my ankles tighter and more stable. Excellent traction. Generally the insoles are better and have better arch support than other boots, but because mine are so high I buy new insoles. Finally, nice roomy toe bed, never had an issue with my toes bumping when going downhill. Will absolutely buy again when I wear these ones out.

Plenty of room for the proper wool sock, my feet stayed completely dry and warm. I always love a Salomon product.

I have a slightly wider forefoot that average and struggle with buying quality boots that are up to the job of serious hiking. Look no further, early days of ownership but these are very comfortable. However, I did have to go down a half size from my other footwear.

These are the only boots I buy for hiking. Held off for years because of the cost, but had at least one foot or ankle injury every year with less expensive boots. Almost everyone I hike with wears Solomon boots because of the gripping soles and ankle support.

I have narrow feet for a guy (men's 7 C width) so it feels nearly impossible to find hiking boots that fit well. The Salomon Quest 4 GTX boots in a women's 7.5 (European 39 1/3) are a perfect fit for me! Beyond fit, these boots are nearly perfect. Waterproof, comfortable, good traction under wet/muddy/icy conditions, lightweight and comfortable. Good cushion under the foot to absorb the shock...especially on long hikes under a ruck. The only drawback of these boots is also a positive; the sole is soft enough to give good traction on wet rocks but this means they wear down after a year of use. I need to buy a new pair every year. Bonus thought: Thank you Salomon for making these boots in ladies sizes that fit, BUT ALSO is neutral colours like grey, so a guy like me doesn't have to go hiking in pretty boots! :)

I bought these a month ago before I moved out to Oregon, I have had other brands, but really wanted something with higher support. These have been perfect. I can't recommend them fast enough.

Cool boots, all my friends who are familiar with hiking, everyone has these boots, though men. The women's ones are a little different for me. That's why they are female. I want to buy myself the same shoes again and again. Thank you for such cool boots!

I've been buying these for 7 years and although the model has changed a little since the first pair I bought, these boots are the best fitting boots I've ever owned. I have super wide feet, and nothing else compares. The water proofing doesn't seem to last too long, but overall, the support and fit have been perfect for me.

I love th that there is a walking boot for women that is both stylish and practical. The laces are secure, they are waterproof. I walk between 5 and 10k everyday in them and I haven't felt any discomfort.

Bought this boot after researching online articles and reviews extensively for women's highest rated mountaineering/hiking boots. I'm going to use these for my Kilimanjaro summit trip this summer.Based on reviews I bought my normal athletic shoe size (USA-8M). My foot is narrow at the heel and these boots fit perfectly out of the box. I can loosen or tighten to customize my support when & where needed. Tested them on dirt trails in a state park: excellent support in all areas of my foot (ankle, arch, toe box, grip, weight). Tested on pavement and hard surface for a 10mi walk in Manhattan. Not a single issue with fit, durability or weight. My body was sore after a 10mi hike through Manhattan, but not my feet. The support in this boot is so solid that it feels like wearing ski boots to hold your feet/ankles in the proper orthopedic position. Therefore, my body had to acclimate being in a more correct, orthopedic foot support and gait. Which is a good thing for me. I love the color, the fit and the quality so much that my son bought his own pair in men's sizing.

From the time I finally put them on the trail, I found the following: 1. Foot comfort is perfect, and the shoe offers support and cushioning at a high level 2. Traction is solid, and this aids in climbing steep or hills in wet conditions I love the Shock-absorbing capacity.

Perfect shoes for my trekking style. The width is also wide, so I don't get tired even if I walk for a long time.

This is my 3rd pair of boots like these and my favourite part of them is the lace lock at the ankle, they hold your foot firmly in place when up and down hills - Salomon please do not do away with this feature

Slim feet = stubbed toes on steep descents as my feet slide forward. These use snowboarding boot tech to lock the laces at the top of the foot so the foot is held in place. The ankle laces can be looser to give more movement without the looseness working down to the foot. Brilliant. Bought for when my other pair wear out!
