After trying on multiple pairs of highly rated trail running shoes these were the winner. Lightweight and sturdy. However after my first (only 3 mile) run I had blisters on the instep of BOTH feet. It seems that where the Gore-tex meets the mesh on the inner arch there is a lip on the inside of the shoe. And with the larger toe box (which I thought I loved) every uphill and downhill my foot would rub. Blisters took me out of running for a week. What a disappointment :( Not sure if the sense ride 4 without Gore-tex would do the same, but I'm not about to try... OUCH!

I am ordering my third pair of Salomons. The last & construction fit my decades challenged, multiple issued feet really well. The lacing system on the first pair I owned (not from Zappos) did not work well, but I hate tying laces so much, that I put up with it. I'm so glad I didn't give up on the brand, because the slide system on the second pair I bought worked just fine. (Who knew the first pair was defective) After a year of daily use on my current Salomons, it's time for new sneakers. I am hoping pair #3 will be just as perfect for my feet as the ones I am replacing. I know if I have a problem with the lacing system, Zappos will stand behind them.

Where the Gortex and the mesh meet there is a lip inside the shoe that will cause some serious problems. Not such a good thing for a running shoe.

These sneakers fit well. I have a narrow foot and I find my feet aren't slipping inside my sneaker. The Gore-Tex is a bonus as your feet stay dry on the wet days. I buy Solomon for the quick lace which these have on this sneakers.

This is a great pair of shoes. I was trying to find a good walking shoe I could put my orthotics into and this did the trick. I tried 5 different pairs on Zappos and with all the returns it was painful. I finally went to REI and got a pair of these. Zappos still had them on their site so I bought a second pair. Great comfort right out of the box for walking.

These shoes are great. Run a little big, about a half size I would say, but I kept them because the fastening system keeps them from shifting and everything is in the right spot, just extra room in the toe. In love with these shoes. Nice and light but plenty of stability on the trails. Puddles are great fun and my feet have stayed dry. Also, have not had one spec of dirt or rock enter this shoe. Highly recommend. Have worn them for approximately thirty miles now.

Bought the Sense Ride 4 Gore-Tex 2-3 months ago. Great comfort as usual and light weight with the added comfort of knowing they are Gore-tex as we leave summer and enter the wet season. They look great and managed to persuade my friend to purchase a pair. Would be great to have more colours available in the Gore-Tex range.

This is a great shoe, very comfortable, lacing system is great - no more laces! I think they run half size too big, I ended up re-ordering smaller size.

The most comfortable trainers I have ever had on my feet. Great traction. I have bought myself a second pair.

I bought the shoes 3 months ago and have not taken them off. Great shoes to walk dogs in the AM wet grass or hiking in the mud.

I have purchased Salomon trail shoes for years. This is a new model for me and the fit seems to be about the same as my others, XA Pro 3D with Gortex trail running shoe. I need a big toe box b/c my toes are wide and these do the job.

These Salomon Sense Ride 4 GORE-TEX Invisible Fit shoes fit me perfectly in my usual size 11. In some Salomon's (usually the Non-GORE-TEX variety), I somehow wear a 12 at times. So I ordered these Salomon Sense Ride 4 GORE-TEX Invisible Fit shoes in both an 11 and a 12 with plans to return one and keep the other. The 11's fit perfectly, and the 12's were too big -- which is in line with my normal sizing. However, both of the pairs (11's and 12's) were not as cushy on the bottom, in the front of the shoe, underneath the ball of my foot, as the other Salomon styles I tried on. They seemed to be lacking cushion and softness in that one area. They were still quite comfortable shoes in many regards. But when comparing them to the Speedcross 5 GTX and the Sense Ride 4 (NON-GORE-TEX) that I tried on at the same time, these shoes fell short due to what felt like a flat, uncushioned area under the ball of each foot ... and in both pairs, the 12 and the 11. So I returned both pairs, the size 11's and the size 12's, and I kept the Salomon Speedcross 5 GTX shoes instead, size 11.

These looked really nice. I'm a W8 with a somewhat wide foot, and they just felt a bit too narrow and not as comfortable as I would have wanted for long walks/standing/exercise. The laces are also kind of fussy--I LOVE the lace garage (I wish all sneakers had them), but I don't love the super thin laces (cut into your fingers), and the system of loosening and tightening wasn't as easy as it should be. I went with a Brooks Ghost 8 wide instead--super comfortable (but sadly no lace garage, and they Brooks don't look as high quality as the Solomons).
I'd also recommend:
Brooks Ghost wide

I love my old Salomon shoes and was hoping this shoe could replace it. Same style but definitely not the same fit or comfort. I even tried new inserts for comfort and that didn’t help. They are now in the garage for yard work if needed.

I bought these two weeks ago, waited five days to get them, was really excited and eager to go for a run in them after reading reviews about the SENSE RIDE. Sure enough, comfy, smooth run in them but!!! After just a few km in them, my left shoe has developed the annoying audible click a couple of people have mentioned. I am petite but fit, muscular, so I do not run like an elephant but lightly. I cannot afford to replace these shoes, however, wearing them and clicking with every step is stressful. So at the end of the day, I will not be able to wear them. These shoes are supposed to provide a relaxing, comfy, stress-free glide and they do NOT when they click. Anyone ever figure out what creates the click? It seems like the midsole to me. Wearing earplugs or buds in order to even be able to wear these shoes while running, jogging, is dangerous... you need to be aware of your surroundings, so that is NOT an option and should not even be an option. These shoes should be QUIET. I am severely disappointed - waste of money. Have other Salomon's for other purposes, but I admit they are from 6-8 years ago when the quality was somewhere else, incomparable with the current quality.

I'm not sure where to start, I was so disappointed. Here's my story: When I first wore my first Salomon Sense Ride GTX Invisible Fit Trail-Running Shoes that I bought back in 2019, I was absolutely in love. I swore that this is the best shoes that I've ever bought because it helped me dry and survive many crazy adventures through national parks and races, and the Goretex is god sent. It was super light weight, easy to get in and out, good fit. I've used them for years until sadly they were too worn out and have massive holes. Fast forward to 2022 when I got the Sense Ride 4 with hope that i'd be able to wear my dream shoes again, so I got the same size same everything as the 2019 version. However, after a 30-min walk, my left ankle was so badly rubbed against the opening of the shoes (and I didn't even tie tightly), and I was limping the next few days. It hurts so bad I barely could wear my climbing shoes on my trip. I was so disappointment that whatever design this model was in 2019 has changed for the worse. I'd be going elsewhere for my next dream waterproof trail running shoes.

First negative review was deleted, so this is my second try to make sure others understand that there is sth wrong with this model. I ordered these shoes 2 weeks ago, waited 5 days to receive them and was quite literally excited to go for my first run in them. I am petite but muscular, so I run lightly and not like an elephant. However, after just about 10 km, the left shoe started making an audible, annoying clicking noise that is just stressful and a nuisance. I read reviews elsewhere about these shoes - the positive ones outweighed the negative ones, but there were a few that mentioned the audible click. I thought the chance of getting such a sour lemon pair, would be low, but... I am disappointed. I expected more from Salomon... after coughing up so much for this dream pair of trail runners, I cannot afford to purchase another pair, but this pair can only be worn with earplugs or buds, thus putting me at risk of not hearing any threat around me. Having to wear earplugs because shoes click, should not even be an option that crosses my mind. I cannot wear these shoes without getting anxious and stressed by the noise they generate. There is something obviously wrong with these shoes that the clicking starts after breaking them in. To me, it seems like the clicking is coming from the midsole. Has anyone ever figured out what causes the sound? Don't delete my negative review this time please, it may help others in their decision and to save money and stress.
