I purchased the size that I normally wear and the length is perfect. My only concern is that the toe box is quite high and I feel as if the boot is too large. I am wearing heavier weight socks and my foot feels more secure now. My foot is average width but with a lighter weight sock it feels too loose. They are extremely comfortable right out of the box, would recommend.

Just got these in the mail. They seem super durable with fantastic grip on the tread. They say standard width, but are pretty narrow compared to my old standard width boots. Hoping once they're broken in I won't feel them digging into my arch as much. I have had to lace them super loose to compensate

Grips on soles are fabulous, padding in all the right places, recommend double knotting as the laces are round, so undo themselves, not good for ankle support though as I can still circle my foot when their on.

Boots fit and feel great - they also look good too. I am an average size UK 6 and recalling what some of the other reviews said, I am pleased I did not order a smaller size (5/5.5) otherwise would have been too small.

Boots were easy to break in and were wonderful for majority of the Half Dome hike. Toe box protection and ankle support was absolutely perfect on the hike. But while going up the cables my laces came undone because I nicked my lace off the metal hook at the top. A kind soul tied my shoes who was passing me going the other direction. If it wasn't for him, I think I would have had to nervously scramble up the cables with an untied shoe. I'm tempted to get a hammer and push the metal clasps closed a bit more so this doesn't happen again.

I took these for a spin last week and love them. They are durable and comfortable! I have pretty narrow feet and they fit perfectly.

I did not think these hiking boots were worth the money. I have an older version of the same boot and it is much better made. Unfortunately it is no longer waterproof so I still need to find new boots.

I really wanted these boots but surprised at how much larger the size 9 fits. My other Salomon hiking shoes are a size 9 and they fit perfect.

The top of the toe area, where the toe bends, hurt immediately when I started to walk.

The X Ultra Mid was my go-to hiking boot for ages, but these were a disappointment. They feel narrower in the toe box, the materials don't feel as high quality, and the design is unappealing to me. I especially dislike the women's color choices - I wish shoe manufacturers would realize many women like the same bold, bright colors they offer for men - not lighter, softer versions with pastel accents. The insoles still feel nice and cushy like the originals, though. I might have kept them if they'd had more room in the toe box.

I bought The Ladies Salomon Ultra 4 Mid Gore-Tex in a US ladies size 8. I am a true size 8 in all athletic shoes - hiking, running, golfing. The box was labeled US size 8 and Europe 40. European size 40 is a US 9 or 9 1/2. When I contacted customer service they said they could not take them back. I was outside the return time limit. When I contacted the supervisor I got the same response and he said it was a personal problem I had with size!!!

Bought this boot as it is very light for hiking in summer heat/humidity. I loved the snug ankle fit and wider toe box without a sloppy heel fit. Considering using them on my Nepal trip to EBC (with a porter) as there is a lot of stability and toe protection built into the boot. As per other reviews, the sizing is off. I spoke with Salomon customer service and they said to size down a full shoe size for this particular boot which would be correct however I have to return as only a half size down would work much better to allow for foot swelling (I live in a very hot/humid part of the country). Cant wait for the new pair to arrive - my research was right, these will be excellent boots.

The boots are light and look good. I bought half size down according to the reviews and recommendation. It fits well in length, but the middle part of my pinkies are pinched from the top, especially on the left foot. Loosen up the laces helped but didn't completely remove the pressure. I'm not sure if this is part of the break in.

The boots have thick ankle padding that makes it difficult to keep the lacing tight. One solution would be another set of lacing hooks on the ankle. Otherwise they are very well done but I wouldn't recommend them.

I have been looking for new hikers for about two years now as I have oddly sized feet (Women's 11.5 or 12, AA width) and was hopeful after hearing that Salomons fit narrow. This seems like a great boot, but sadly I had to return it. I was delighted to discover that the biggest size (11) had plenty of room in the toe (length) so I would say these fit a bit long (which is great unless Salomon can consistently offer 11.5 as an option). Unfortunately, despite their relatively narrow fit compared to other brands, they are still too wide. When I tightened the boot with my hiking socks on, the top of the toe box buckled and my foot was still sliding around inside. Please, Salomon, offer an AA width for people like me. We deserve to have access to comfortable, stable hiking boots like everybody else.

It took me several misses before getting a hit with these new Salomon hiking boots. They grip our wintry icy trails well, and keep my feet dry. I love getting to choose a non-neutral color too! Ive recommended them to my hiking friends.

Fortunately I bought my first pair in store so I could try them on, because I ended up in a Womens size 8 instead of my usually 8.5 Loved them so much, I ordered a second pair, the exact same one, these ones for my duty boots (paramedic). By fair the easiest hiking boots I have ever broke in. They were comfy first day. Highly recommend. Just ordered winter boots here. Hopefully they are just as great!

I purchased these after a ton of research online.. it was between these and another brand. Absolutely LOVE these boots! Theyre comfortable with a thick sock, handle any/all terrain very well, and the waterproofing is impressive! Im a K9 Handler for a local volunteer team, and I was looking for something that would hold up for miles. I also have had 2 lower back surgeries, so comfort and stability is a must. These boots have it all! I do recommend wearing a pair of thick socks, and even wearing them around the house for a few days to break in the toe area. Ive recommended these boots to our entire SAR K9 Team!

Bought about 3/4 weeks ago, use every day, twice a day to walk my young dogs in muddy, wet woodland, unfortunately they are not waterproof. Bought all the recommended cleaning and waterproofing products but still leaking , not very satisfactory

These were good shoes for about the first 20 miles. Unfortunately there wasn't enough padding behind the top lace grommets and they started to dig into my ankles. Loosening the lacing didn't help. I have to wear them unlaced at the top now, sacrificing the ankle support I was looking for. Other than that, they are high-quality.

The material on the top of the toe is *very* stiff where the foot creases between the toes and foot and is quite painful on the top of my foot. I keep hoping that it will soften with more use but it hasn't yet and is extremely uncomfortable to wear. The sole is comfortable but for the high price I paid for these, this boot should be far more comfortable. Would not recommend.

These were a warranty replacement and I took the advice of other reviews and went down a size form the chart (and it was only half a size up from my old boots), which was fine for length, but the boots rubbed on the side of my foot, so going to have to try the wide fit, which is a shame as there is no choice in colours. The boot seemed quite rigid, and also I would add that the front of the boots did not match - the front pad stuck out noticeably more on one than the other. I agree with other reviews I've seen that the quality of Saloman products do not match the prices being charged!
