Ive used everywhere , Walking at the park, hiking , disc golfing , watering the grass Ive used these shoes for a year now. They definitely have been drenched plenty of times an have kept my feet dry and warm. These are shoes I have purchased in the past and will continue to check out new styles.

Have had these shoes for 6 months. Have used them a fair amount but no way near every day. In less than 5 months a hole started to appear at the edge of the toe crease. The shoes are not waterproof. Not exactly their fault but worth noting these shoes are a little narrow. I also strongly advise to not run in these shoes as the arch support damaged the nerves in my foot when I had to run for a train once.

The shoe was comfortable at first. After several miles I was getting hot spots. This is my 13th pair of Solomon trail running shoes and the first pair to give me blisters. And the fabric is delaminating after 25 miles of hiking. Im going to try to get the previous versions that have worked so incredible well for me.

Pros - shoes was definitely waterproof. Love the colors and feel. Cons - I wore this shoe for about a month so I can break them in for my Mammoth hike challenge ( 20 miles ) I wore Keens last time. I was looking forward using my pair of Salomon's. First of all if I knew the shoe did not come with regular laces - I would order it. The new inter laces or whatever it's called , way too fancy. I'm old school , it takes seconds to tie laces. I had to constantly pull the laces to tight them up, very frustrating. I was afraid if I pulled it up any harder it would snap. I also end up getting blisters - I didn't when I wore Keens. I was very surprised because I did my research. I will clean up my Salomon's and give them to donation.

My go-to Solomon for many years was the X ULTRA 3 GORE-TEX, this is the perfect replacement. Amazing shoe for technical tails!

The only shoes I have worn for years are Salomons. No other shoes fit my feet good. These are my favorite out of the 15 or 20 pairs that I have owned.

Within 12 days of the purchase date, one tongue came unstitched, and one lace became slightly torn. I wrote to Salomon and reported this and asked simply for a replacement and included photos. Over one week later, NO RESPONSE AT ALL. The tongue is held on to the body of the shoe with a one-and-a-half-inch piece of material which gave way as I was adjusting some discomfort at the arch. This shoe is poorly made and poorly designed in terms of this specific flaw.

I love Salomon trail runners. LOVE like pizza!!! I recommend them to all my friends and have kept the Salomon execs in luxury cars because of it! Generally I give them a 5 star every time. I buy them year after year. This is the first time that within 3/4 of a year the heal has blow out of them. They do have a warranty program which unfortunately I am now going to have to use. To balance this review out once it has been dealt with I will up their stars!

After researching hiking shoes, I purchased this shoe due to its appearance, durability, and waterproof Gore-Tex. So far, I have owned the shoes for close to a month and have been fairly pleased. The only disappointment is the shoes come with a very thin, poorly padded insert that feels very cheap. I removed the insert and replaced it with a more stable and supportive one since I have a higher arch. Since then, the shoe has performed very well!

After several attempts to wear these the material is softening up a little. Hopefully they get to the point I can wear them longer than an hour. At first it was 15min max.

Got these as they were the lightest on offer in the shop in my size and I had good experiences with Salomon using several pairs in the past. Initially very comfortable with no break in. I did one long hike and a few short ones totally not more than 30-50km then one of the eyelets broke. FIT/COMFORT: runs a nit narrow around the ball of the foot but otherwise comfortable, good shock absorption, I didn't find they pinched as others have mentioned, heel drop is a bit high for my liking. LACING: I really dislike the speed lacing systems (not just bc it broke) they offer no advantage over conventional laces, they need to be constantly tightened, hassle to tuck into the tongue, the little rubber grip that covers where the two ends are joined also came loose make them even more awkward. GRIP: I'm not sure why Salomon/Contragrip are obsessed with this small arrowhead tread design? It's really lackluster. Fine if on a packed dirt path or in some mud but on mixed terrain and wet rock/stone they are poor, no lateral grip at all. A far cry from Vibram in terms of performance. There is just too much space between treads so there is not enough contact with the terrain. H2O: Gortex works well, have submerged them in streams right up to the brim and still dry. STYLING: a nice looking shoe without the blinding colours competitors have Overall an OK shoe for easy well maintained trails or urban paths but it's not a hiking shoe, it's a trail runner. The grip/treads are not aggressive enough, and obviously in my case they were not durable at all after little use revealed a defect. That said Salomon customer service was excellent! Very fast no hassle response to my warranty claim, which is commendable! I got credit for another pair and have been waiting for new stock as I don't want to replace with same model. The Elixir look promising (same arrowhead treads though).

Left foot fit perfectly. Right foot to tight across knuckle of right big toe. Binds pulls tight. Very painful. Couldnt take more than a few steps without increasing pain. Returned for a different pair that fit better. Although they have a slight pull as well. But they are better. I really like Salomon shoes was disappointed in the fit of the x ultra.

I have used Salomons for years and wore these shoes on a 21 day hike in very rough terrain, after which my feet were killing me. Great shoes for hiking on softer terrain, but I would recommend a harder sole for harder hikes.

1 start for the shoe hands down. Question to start with - YOU say do not mention about customer service and contact us? Contact who? Coming to the review, previous one never got posted. Not sure what exactly happened? I got my shoes delivered on 19th July 2023 evening i.e. LESS THAN 48 hours from now when I scribbling this. Took the shoe out and literally went down for a quick check on the fitting. 5 minutes down my arch on both feet hurt so bad, I went back home. Tried again inside and same issue. The craftsmanship is POOR at best. It creases inwards from sides as soon as you wear it hurts my feet arch. It's unwearable. Now we have established, Shoe Worn Time - 5 minutes (approx) and Ownership Time - less than 48 hours I contact the the team today and they tell me it's used and cannot be returned? Quick question how will I test the comfort level on an online order shoes? You guys hearing yourself? Then if I get approved for warranty based on the pictures received? Which ofcourse I would, they are still BRAND NEW "TECHNICALLY", I will be given a voucher? Good way to keep money in- house? That's it? This is latest hiking shoe you have and I don't wan't it. I am so frustrated and infuriated by this ORDEAL. I have never been this disappointed and felt robbed ever purchasing something since, the shoe is unwearable and I have no idea what to do with it. I will try my best to share this experience on every possible platform I can about the experience and the MAJOR RED FLAG one should always be aware of when shopping with SALOMON. Also, please do not respond with "You appreciate the feedback and all. Cz y'all definitely not helping by any which means"

To start with 1 star is for the Shoe. If they had a negative scale, that will be for the customer support. I got my order on 19th July 2023 in the evening i.e. less than 48 hours from now when I am writing the review. I took the shoe out and literally went on the street to check fitting and the craftsmanship is so poor the outsole on the side creased and literally gave me a shooting pain on my foot arch (both feet). I literally within 5 minutes, went up that's that. Tried again the in my house and same issue. Then I came i here for reviews and over 100+ 1 star reviews here and 50+ on Amazon talking about the same issue. Come today, I call NOT SO Customer Support, submitted pictures and all. They say wearing a shoe makes a used pair. I literally wore it for 5 minutes and the shoe has been less than 48 hours with me. Also, how will someone test a shoe bought online? Are you listening to what you are saying? According to them they can give me a voucher. I have a question and what should I do with that? This is latest Hiking shoe you have, people talk about ULTRA 3 that is discontinued. I am gonna post snippet of my story everywhere I could. No return for a 5 min wear test shoe and only 1.5 days old. Freakin' joke of a service. You guys literally have the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Don't respond with "Thank you for your feedback. Here, at Salomon, we always appreciate hearing what customers have to say about our products!"

I bought these as my new primary shoe and ordered 1/2 size up from my normal size as advised by Salomon. Too bad I didnt recieve the same advice last year when I bought my normal size shoe. I now have a small sized back-up that I jam my toes into. Other than this sizing issue, these are some great shoes that provide great support and long waterproof wear for "hard use".

This is my second pair of this shoe. The new redesign does not fit as good as my old pair. While the shoe is okay there is something that is just "off" with the fit so they are no where as comfortable as the previous edition. The grip is great and the gore-tex works as it should. Is too bad as once these wear out I'm not sure I will buy another pair of Salomon's.

I have been buying the X Ultra since V1. Out of the box, they have always been comfortable, rugged, and I am a fan of the lacing system. For the record, I have naturally flat and narrow feet. While aesthetically, V4 is a little more appealing to me, the overall comfort and design has gone downhill. Others have noted this as well, and I hesitated a long time before making this purchase, but I got to the point that I needed new hiking shoes, and I didn't want to stray from Salomon. Right out of the box, I notice some discomfort around foot arches, both on the medial and lateral side of my foot. I'm not sure if it's due to the lacing and/or material, but the material near the arches of the midsole folds in a way that it creates uncomfortable friction with my foot while walking. This is my main complaint, as over the course of wearing these shoes daily over the last month, this feature has not improved much. The footbed has broken in a bit better, but I don't remember having such a break in period with my Salomons in the past. I was tempted to return or trade in these shoes for another style due to them not being as comfortable as the previous versions, but I had already put too many outdoor miles into this pair, so I guess I'll stick with them for now. These shoes, and Salomons in general, have been my go to brand for hiking shoes/boots over the last decade. The fact that they are still producing this shoe that has so many negative reviews has me seriously considering what other brands might offer my feet more comfort.

I have been wearing Solomon hiking shows for about 20 years. My original Solomon Gore-Tex hiking shoes were great! They were indestructible. I use them to walk my dogs 10 miles a day, as well as hiking mountains and forests around the world. Over time the durability of the shoes has deteriorated greatly. The past three pairs have started to leak at the seams and then completely delaminated between the sole and upper.

I just received these ULTRA and find them a bit "snug" but not as tight as I found the previous Speed Cross 6 which were too tight fitting. I'm going to give it some time and work them-in to see if they get more comfortable.
