This is my forth pair of these shoes. This pair, after 2 weeks the tongue came out. When calling for support there is no one that can speak English when you call. The warranty is a very slow process. 72 hours before you respond and then they send you a coupon to use on your next order. Why not just send me a new pair of shoes?? I need shoes.

I love these shoes. I wear them almost everyday for work as a home inspector. Theyre super grippy on roofs and the goretex keeps me protected from weather. Theyre super comfy for being on my feet all day. My only wish is that the quick laces could be a little sturdier.

I have had so many different styles of Salomon shoes and the Ultra 4 are my ride or die shoes. If I only had one pair to take on a trip not knowing were I was going, I would take them. Waterproof, secure stable footing due to the foot bed system, light weight, and extremely durable. I only give these a 4 because I have not worn them enough to know how this particular (new) model will perform. My only suggestion would be to make the tie box slightly wider so the toe can spread. I usually size up from a half to a full size over some other brands to accommodate a wide toe box and the foot swelling when hiking. This is not usually an issue with heal slip but can be. Enjoy!

Shoes are Fabulous. Straight out of the box, i hiKIED 80 plus miles in Wyoming. Rigid shoes that matched expectations of stability and comfort. I did not wear them driving or sitting as these are not designed for that and I know better to charge our for something more flexible during this activities. Thank you for a great product from a customer centric company

Im still in a break in period after a month, I wear other shoes too. So far there just ok, normally I wouldnt say anything bad or subjective but they arent as comfortable or plush cushioned as I was hoping. Definitely not a running shoe or something I could wear all day but Im still wearing them a few days a week around, and like I say, just ok so far. Almost sent them back cuz they were really uncomfortable sides were tight into my foot and wasnt happy. But I have them a few days and they broke in better. Soo Im still waiting to see how they feel in a few months time.

I purchased these direct from Salomon a month ago. I do not normally buy footwear online as correct fitting/comfort is so important in footwear. The ordering process and shipment was phenomenal, and the shoes arrived on time for me to "wear them in" before leaving for my first trek. The shoes looked too narrow for me when I first looked at them, but the fit was just perfect. I was surprised by the "lace-ups." I had not noticed when ordering them that they did not have traditional laces but a cord-wire system with lock mechanism. Very easy to put on and tighten. Worked fine during the 25-miles I put on them before my trek. Unfortunately, during my trek (125-miles) the right shoe mechanism was working loose - not sufficient to be a major problem but was definitely a nuisance. Otherwise, the shoes worked great on my trek. Put them through a pretty hard workout and they stood up well. Was particularly impressed with how waterproof they were. Highly recommend these shoes - with the caveat about the lock mechanism

These are my go to, everyday shoes. They last a long time (about 2 years in my case) but when they do finally wear out they become my yard work shoes. I think I now have 3 retired pairs in my garage! Seems like thats the best endorsementI just keep buying them!

Bought my first pair of Salomon not knowing how comfortable they would be. Theyre comfortable but at the same time theyre not either. They hit me in the arch of the right foot on the left side of my right foot and Ive noticed there not really breaking in to make it more comfortable. Must be how the boot/ shoe is designed. Other than that they seem like a decent shoe and they look great. Just not to sure if Id purchase again.

They last well, are comfortable, lightweight and properly waterproof. They also look pretty good.
However, they do tend to come loose after a few km and require regular re-tightening which can be frustrating.

I've worn these over a dozen times since buying them last month. Overall quite pleased; they are a good fit and comfortable. However, one of the reasons I chose these is their waterproof spec. Half an hour into my 3mile morning walk in persistent rain I could feel my feet getting wet. The uppers are made of Goretex yet they succumbed to heavy rain in 30mins.

I had better luck with the older models of this shoe. The latter iterations of this shoe just doesn't hold up. It's alot of money for a so-so nothing special pair of shoes. I'm actually back to wearing the Brooks beast for walking. I bought a heavier walking shoe for tougher terrain but I probably haven't worn them enough to plug them either way.
XULTRA still a comfortable shoe but newer models just doesn't hold up.

Bought a minth ago, while it fits, i find the shoes isn't balanced and my feet seems to slide sideway making me self conscious and in fear that i may skip, never had that with Salomon.

Salomon does not make ANY wide shoes. I thought they would have compensated for that with the current design. Nope.

I have had 4 pairs of these and was looking to get a new pair. They have been great over the years - comfortable, durable, sturdy hikers. However, for whatever reason Salomon decided to reduce the material around the toe box which make a scrunched fit for your toes which is not conducive to hiking up and down trails. I tried to size up but it did not fix the issue.
The reduced narrower toe box is a non starter for me so after 4 pairs of these I have to move on. Sad to see you go Salomon. I don't understand the rationale for this redesign other than saving you a few pennies.

Great fit. I wear a 9-1/2 D and got a 10 in these. Also, excellent support all around. I am wearing these all year round in Minnesota with no issues at all.

I purchased this shoe but in red. I purchased the red shoes because they were a unique color. The durability of the shoe is amazing Salomon shoes are very well made. The laces are easy too. But the overall comfort was lacking for me. The shoe did not have arch support I needed. So I am hoping Salomon starts making an option of having a higher arch option available for shoes in the future.

This shoe really hit a home run with me on every level. I was looking for a good hiking shoe but not a trail running shoe that would be light and stable but also have good grip for traction and stability. This shoe deliver for me. Right out of the box I did a 10mile hike with 2400 ft of elevation and was very surprised at how well this shoe did.
Since the initial hike I have done another for 5miles and even better response. Looking forward to the next outing as I prepare for a 25k hike in April.

Got this pair for my 18-yr-old son (to match a pair of my own) for a winter trip to Utah. Worked great in the snow and for walking up and down main street. He also took them camping and loves them.
I'm a big fan of Salomons. Owned 5 pair over the years!

These are my first pair of Solomons, and Ive had them for a month now. They have easily become one of my favorite shoes in the collection. Solid build/durable, waterproof and I can wear them for just about any occasion. I was a bit weary to buy them online without trying them on but Im impressed with the comfort of insole, as they dont look like theyd be super comfortable, but they are! Im hoping the durability holds up, but for now Im very satisfied with these.

I purchased these shoes a month ago and functionally they work as advertised. So far no wet feet on muddy trails! Unfortunately I had a fit issue with a pressure point across the top of the shoe. I sent a request for follow up into warranty a couple of weeks back to see about a possible exchange, and nothing back since. I'm hoping the shoes loosen up and the discomfort reduces. Just my experience.

Just 2 walks on them but one of the shoes has a firm crease/break at the foot ball. This makes the crease drive into the top of my foot and gets quite unpleasant after a bit. I've played with the lacing tension - even to the point of backing them right off. Will try and manually work a secondary crease/break in the toe and see if things improve. Will go back to the 3's for a bit and let my foot recover somewhat before trying again. A bit disappointed as I was quite happy with the 3's (but wore them out in 8 months).
