Since Major League Baseball instituted the no backpack rule for ballparks, I am 79 years old and had found it difficult to carry/bring all my paraphernalia to games and walk part of the way and ride buses. In San Francisco, at Oracle Park, in the high sections by the Bay, the weather can change mightily. I bring baseball cap, score pad, pens, my meal, snacks, mascot, blanket, rain poncho, book, hand warmers, masks and a drink. With the straps removed, after I get to the bus stop, I can get through security with minimal scrutiny, re-attach the straps after I am in and walk up the (0.71 mile, 19 switchback) ramp.

Perfect for walking commute to work. It seems small but fits more than my previous briefcase-backpack.

I previously had a Timbuk2 bag that has lasted nearly 14 years so I knew this was a brand I could trust for reliability. I am very impressed with the amount of space and overall design of this bag. It's easy to use and has the ability to store an abundance of my personal medical supplies. A great bag for first responders.

I bought the briefcase model for my son. The quality is so much more than any other on the market. We have purchased a timbuk2 for each of our family members in the past. The zippers are heavy duty. I love how the pockets are spread out so they don't create a big bulge when full. Look no further. You won't be disappointedted!

Bought this bag to replace my husband's 7 year old Timbuk2 backpack. The convertible briefcase has all the space you need without being too bulky. All of the essentials are easy to get to. The backpack straps are also nice- you could legitimately use this bag as either a backpack or briefcase, it doesn't feel as though the backpack option was an after thought.

I use this as a one day business travel pack and it fits A LOT. Travel 32 oz water bottle, change of clothes, jacket, large laptop, charger, all the EDC, notebook, among other things. I love all the pockets - it's a great airport bag to accompany a suitcase. It has a great suitcase handle securing pocket that makes it easy to attach, and it fits under the airplane seat in front of you!

This bag is probably one of the most versatile bags you can get. I mainly use it with the strap but the briefcase feature is also good, yet it doesn't look formal. The backpack feature is also good but I feel like the weight is unevenly distributed. It fits SO much stuff you'd be surprised. Definitely worth it.

Great bag, very sturdy and heavy duty. I like how I can carry it like a briefcase and wear it like a backpack. Lots of room for my laptop and water bottle. Also looks sleek in all black.

I've really enjoyed this bag and use it daily for work. The shoulder strap is my favorite feature, but it's great to have the backpack option when needed. It offers plenty of storage and works perfectly as a business travel bag. I especially appreciate the front compartment for easy access to my essential items.

Had a timbuk3 briefcase for years u til it finally broke down. Purchased this and it has worked out fine. Generally use it as a briefcase but love that it can also be a backpack. It has the same great craftsmanship as my earlier bag so I am hoping to use this for years to come.

I'm looking for a good bag to commute to office. TIMBUK2 left from Japan. I try to find bags long time ,but I couldn't. So I order to American office. My passage was stopped en route a month because of wrong address. But the bag is great because big capacity and flexible usage many pockets. At last I'd like you to back to Japan again!

- Well designed convertible/hybrid bag if your priority is innocuous work bag that holds more (e.g. overnight stuff). - Main compartment has "L" zipper (on two sides of bag). You either like it or hate it. I'm ok with it on this size bag. For anything larger, I'd want a clamshell--but works fine on this size bag. - Luggage pass-through has top/bottom zips so you can use it as a pocket instead. - Laptop bottom padding is good; side edge padding has less. - Having four internal zip pouch pockets is good--sized for toiletries, power bricks.... But there's no other admin organization. You'll need separate pouches to organize pens, battery bank, earbuds, etc... Earbuds will get lost in the front compartment. I'm fine with that trade off. I just use a few small pouches/cases. BYOOP... Bring Your Own Organization Pouches. - Bag is surprisingly roomy and can carry more that you think in the outer two compartments as weel as the main compartment. - I like stowable backpack straps for sideway carry orientation. Straps are thin but that's how it is for stowables. When stowed, you can't tell this has a backpack options. - Top / side carry handles are a bit thin. I like the handles on Never Check bag over these. - I have old Timbuk2 Ace and you can see the design element evolution from Ace to Scheme. Kinda fun to see. - It's a bag for fast / light travel. I like it. That bonus luggage pass-though pocket is very handy.

This replaced my worn-out messenger bag. I was skeptical, but it is genuinely a wonderful bag. It is not too big, no space is wasted with gimmicky pockets, it feels sturdy and looks professional.

I have now had this bag for about 12 months and I've used it on every trip. It holds everything needed for a flight and more. Super practical with the additional strap options. Would definitely recommend.

I took it as my personal item for a trip to Spain. It fit under the seat and held several items. When we got to Spain, I used it as a back pack to carry my lunch and items for a trip to the beach. It is sturdy and easy to use.
