Didn't realize when ordering there's no trail gaiter points on this shoe. I wouldn't have purchased if I would've noticed that. Customer service said they didn't put them on this shoe because it would interfere with the structural integrity of the waterproof membrane. I hope they can redesign this shoe to make a true waterproof low top with the gaiter points. There's nothing more frustrating to me to be hiking and get gravels/sticks/dirt down in my shoe. I have several pairs of Altras and LOVE my trail gaiters. They work awesome. Something else I noticed with this shoe is the fit. I always get a 1/2 size up for hiking. This shoe feels much larger than my other Altras. It seems to almost slip in the heal area. I will have to really tighten my shoe laces to see if that helps the sliding. Haven't tested the waterproof functionality yet. I hope to update my review when I do.

I've been wearing Altras ever since I suffered extreme foot pain and my daughter-in-law recommended them. The foot pain went away, and I love the foot shaped Altras. I always wondered why shoes narrow at the toes, when feet do not, and finally I have shoes that fit my feet properly. I also love the tread that makes walking up hills easier, as I love trail walking, and also walking in my hilly neighborhood. Thank you Altra for making a shoe that doesn't squish my toes together. I love the comfort, and my feet love your shoes.

I've marked this shoe "feels too wide" only because of the generous heel cup/area. Seems this shoe is not molded after woman's foot.....I have to tie my laces extra snug to prevent my heel from slipping (the 4.5 model of this shoe fits better!) If you're blister-prone this could be an issue. Otherwise, the Altra LONE PEAK ALL-WTHR LOW fit very well (I wear an 8 in all athletic shoes and this shoe fits me perfectly in a size 8). I did remove the insole and added a Powerstep insole for better arch support. Can't speak to the waterproof-ness of this shoe as I haven't tested it in wet conditions yet.

This was my 3rd all weather (RSM) Loan Peak. Loved the width and the new cushion on the this version. However there are 4 seams that come together right in the heal with no sock liner. What a huge disappointment. The first day I felt it. The second day I returned to the car within the first mile to put my old pair on. I will be returning it. Maybe I got a bad pair. I'm buying last year's model and will wait until they fix the seam issue.

I have several Atra Lone Peaks, all size 8.5. This pair were too big. I am returning for a half-size smaller. Also, as others have mentioned, they do lift up in the heel more than previous models.

Love the fit and feel of these shoes with the wide toe box. However, they just don't hold up. Within a couple months of moderate wear (walking a few miles, a few times a week) the fabric and waterproof membrane had started to abrade along the edge of the thin rubber toe cap right in the spot that the shoe creases when walking. Now, a couple months later this area is totally worn through. Also, the treads on the outsole are worn down to almost completely flat under the ball of my foot. Love the concept of these shoes, but until they work out some durability issues I'll be holding off on buying another pair.

I put these on as soon as they arrived & went for a run in the snow. They felt so great!! Love the traction, roomy toe box, soft ride & warmth with waterproof! Thinking about ordering a 2nd pair!! I would recommend these to everyone!

I want to love these. They are comfortable and truly waterproof BUT after three months of BASIC wear (not rugged hiking - just walking and working as a teacher) they are coming apart. Frustrated!

I own at least 6 pairs of Lone Peaks and love them all! However, this shoe fits totally different. It is not cushioned and hurts my feet when I walk and play 18 holes of golf. I have walked in all my other Lone Peaks and have had no foot issues. Having said all of that, the shoe is totally waterproof! The shoe is simply not comfortable as my other Lone Peaks.

I bought these late 2020 to help me run through a snowy winter. I'd been wearing the non-RSM Lone Peaks all summer and loved them. Tried these twice in the winter but my feet ached each time so I stopped wearing them, thinking that at least I could wear them Spring through Fall on rainy dog walks. Well, that time has come and, very sadly, these shoes are not in the least bit water-proof. Perhaps mildly water-resistant, but that's the best I can give them. My feet were soaked during a rainy walk, with an umbrella and rain pants, on a groomed trail and not splashing through puddles. I consider these a real waste of my money.

I needed a warm and waterproof shoe to wear on a trip to Alaska where it rains a lot. I bought these shoes in advance to try them out. They accommodate my bunion without being too wide in the heel. They keep my feet warm and rain has not penetrated the shoes. I am very pleased with these shoes so far and my weird feet are very hard to please.

I love these for running and hiking in mud/rain etc and they are fantastic! They're not as cushioned as my altra road running shoes but I find them better than other hiking specific shoes. (Also work great for running in icy conditions)

These trail running shoes are the perfect all weather golf shoe! They are wide enough to accommodate my toes and foot shape and have excellent traction to maintain my stance through the swing and manage my game through the course. Plus, they are waterproof. You don't have to be a runner (I'm not) to love Altras. I own 6 pairs and love them all.

So far my all weather Altras have kept my feet warm and dry in wet weather. They are just as comfortable as my other two Altra shoes. My Altras are the only hiking shoes that don't hurt my toes and they are so light that my legs and knees don't feel stressed and tired after a long hike.

I would say that these run a little on the big size. That's fine for me, because I was looking for something that is a little wider in the toe area. When I lace them up tight, they are perfect. Have just been training in them for now but I have some big hikes planned this Summer.

These shoes are not even close to water resistant, let alone "all weather. They also came apart at the top seam after 1-3 wearings. I have contacted Customer Service about these defects (waiting for any response after providing photos-over three weeks, no response), Please note- company policy is replacement/credit but not a refund ---- even when defective. I have lots of Altra running shoes in different designs/atyles - and trusted these shoes to perform as advertised. But I do not need more shoes- and they were not inexpensive. Bottom line? Don't waste your money. And buy any Altras from another seller with a better return policy.

Much to my surprise these shoes do keep my feet dry in wet grass and rainy weather. I could live without the orange shoe laces, though.

hHiBe specific about your likes and dislikes. How was the fit and size? What does the material feel like? How awesome (or not) do you feel wearing them?

Best athletic shoes ever! I love the wide toe box without having to get a wide overall size. I use my custom orthotics in them. Fabulous!!!!

I typically buy the Provision brand for my daily 3 Mile walks. And the Lone Peak for every day wear. They never disappoint. I have been buying Altra Shoes for at least 8 years. They are the only running shoes I buy!

I have 3 different styles of Altra shoes and I love them all! I have the Lone Peak All-Weather which keep my feet warm and dry in the winter. I have two pair of the Lone Peaks for warmer weather, one pair for walking and one pair in the white and light green for golfing. I also have the Escalante and the Rivera that I use for casual wear and shorter walks. I wear a 71/2 and that is the size I buy in Altra shoes, I have had plantar fasciitis which is now gone and Morton's neuroma which is controlled because I wear Altra shoes(with PowerStep inserts). My only wish would be that Altra made winter snow boots and shoes other that sneakers!

I walked 20k steps on wet pavement and soil on a recent trip and my feet were still not killing me at the end. 20k is unusual and a lot for me. Any other shoes would have done my feet in.

I walked the Camino in Spain and Portugal in my Altra Lone Peaks in october of 2022. Love them!! I have "bad" feet. My Lone Peaks allowed me to walk the 125 miles with never a problem. I walk alot and probably now have 300 miles in all kinds of terrain. I have purchased my second pair to have on standby . Highly recommended!
