I had (and still love) the Lone Peak 4.0 and waited to get a new pair for these to come out. Very happy with their fit, traction and comfort after doing the first 8 mile hike in them.

I was having trouble with my toes falling asleep while working out. These have changed that! No more numb toes, just happy feet with plenty of space. I had the TMPs and started having plantar issues-these have helped.

My mom had recommended Altra's to me for years, specifically the Lone Peak. Last year I bought my first pair, version 4.5, and fell in love with them. I have a very wide foot and for the first time my toes had space to move. I also had been suffering from plantar fasciitis for 3 years. The drop heal in the Lone Peak was finally the ticket to heal my foot! I recently purchased the new Lone Peak 5.0 and am very happy with them. Same great fit as the 4.5 (maybe just slightly more snug)! Great cushion and super comfortable. These shoes are my every day shoe for walking, running, moderate hiking and work (I work in a restaurant so am on my feet a lot)!

The shoes are comfy and my toes don't squish together. Love them, but overall love Altra!

These are my 3rd pair of Altras and I'm obsessed. Literally the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn.

Love this shoe. Just bought my first pair after wearing Superiors for the past 1-2yrs. I wanted something with the same fit but more cushioning and these are perfect. Wore them the first time today, running 4.5 miles and they were awesome. My feet did not hurt at all. They have a huge amount of space in the toe box, keeps from swishing my toes together like ALL other shoes. That normally results in pinched or irritated nerves. I hope they never stop making them.

Lone peak shoes have been a life savor for me! I have very wide feet coupled with a high arch so buying shoes is a nightmare! I can not get my foot into any shoes. Then a local running shoe store in the town next to us shoelaces me Altra Lone Peak shoes and my foot went right in!!! And they felt so good. I work all day on my feet and a concrete floor so I needed a good shoe. The shoe store ordered me 2 pair and I haven't looked back! I have been wearing Lone Peak shoes for many years and I won't buy any other shoe! With my extra wide feet, they feel snug for about 10 minutes then they are perfect!!! The wide toe box is such a blessing! No more smooshed baby toes! If you have a hard time fitting shoes in your feet, I highly recommend the Lone Peak from Altra!

This is my sixth pair of lone peak, and it more than impresses. My feet are at home/these are tweaked to my feet's liking. I've had less than perfect pairs of shoes from Altra, but that always beats any other choice. Life customer here. Thank you! But if you want to thank someone, thank the owner of Pine State Coffee in Raleigh/he first turned me on to Altra about 7years ago, and I just can't stop.

So, I have VERY wide feet with high arches. I usually wear shoes that are too long in order to fit the width. These shoes are a huge improvement (for my feet) over my well made 4E width shoes I've been wearing for years. Thank you!

I absolutely love these Lone peaks: plenty of room for my very wide forefoot to splay and spread out, very airy and good breathability, zero drop but still enough cushion to feel comfortable on long hikes and a good and grippy sole for even the gnarliest trails! I am a walker - not a runner and I have never been able to find shoes that would fit my overly wide foot with short toes comfortably - I love going barefoot because of my knees and back and I can usually not wait to ditch shoes as soon as I walk in the door. These Lone Peaks are so comfortable that I might wear them indoors as well on those colder days. The only thing that needs to be improved for me would be the foot bed ... I think the stock insoles are not great and offer very little to stabilize a foot enough to do some more serious hiking but ... there is plenty of room to add a good insert which offers a blank canvas for customization ... For someone not used to barefoot or no drop shoe walking or running these will get some getting used to but again ... there is the option to add a heel pad if desired. I want to thank Altra for making foot shaped shoes that fit wide feet - such a relief after years being squeezed into narrow toe boxes ! For me these shoes fit true to size/ length and there is plenty of cushion and flexibility! I appreciate the restraint color options... don't change this shoe ... stick with what works ... and a special thank you for making this shoe in kids sizes for those extra short adults and outdoorsy kids!

These shoes are perfect. Very comfortable and the toe is elevated to be level with the heel. Would go 1/2 a size smaller than you normally wear.

I have a very difficult time finding a shoe that I can wear everyday and one that does not make my feet hurt. i walk everyday and I have found the perfect shoe in the Women's Lone Peak 5 wide shoe. I put them on today when I received them and they are beyond comfortable. I wear a 7.5 W and that is what I ordered and the fit is PERFECT with a thicker sock. WOW!WOW! THANK YOU ALTRA!!

Not enough cushion for my needs. Nice looking shoe.

I reviewed this shoe when I first got itthis is an update. Originally I said this iteration was just as bad as the 4.5, but having worn it for awhile now, I think it's much better. My biggest complaint about the 4.5 was that I got hot spots in the Achilles area. The outer heel area was too high. This shoe has definitely been better! I now want to say that this version is the best since the 2.5. And for the most part, it is! The heel height doesn't seem to irritate the Achilles area as much as the 4.5, but today I noticed that the heels are wearing out much the same way that the 4.5s did. The only difference is that the discomfort is not nearly what it was with the 4.5s. I'm hoping that this continues. But I have to say that this is something Altra needs to fix. Keep everything the same, but improve on the quality of the heel. This should not be wearing out so soon! Also, the color is amazing! Not that it should matter that much, but I really like the balsam green color! I'm tired of the only available colors being blue or red/pink/purple.

My daughter and I are the same size now so I bought 2 different Altra styles for us to try. She loved these because they are trail shoe. I am sooooo thankful Altra finally came out with wide sizes. It truly is wider than the standard size. It wasn't wide enough for me unfortunately but it was perfect for my daughter and you have to understand how hard it is for me to find a shoe that is comfortable for her. She has worn them everyday with no complaints and she said now her feet don't hurt like they used to. Thank you Altra for wide sizes!
