Well made light weight comfortable sandal BUT since straps are not adjustable they were a bit too tight across my foot . I thought about trying to stretch them but decided to send them back . I bought my usual size, they fit except for the tight straps across top of my foot

Not a great fit for me. The heel has too much side to side action. I usually get a good fit with Merrill just not this style.

My feet are shaped different from most, so this review is based on my feet. The style is great, the arch not that good. When sliding my foot into the shoe, and the upper straps were very loose causing a loss of footing for me.

So Zappos seems to know what size I need better than I do !!! I recently ordered a hiking shoe and Zappos told me I would need 7.5, but my regular size is 7, so I went with that. Well the 7s were too small and I ordered the 7.5 which were perfect. This slide was exactly what I wanted in terms of looks. I wanted black and the "Malbec" looked very dark so I figured that might be OK. Zappos recommended size 6. I haven't worn a size 6 since high school (over 50 years ago) ! But chastened by the hiking shoe experience, I ordered a 6. Lo and behold...they are PERFECT. I can see that the nonadjustable straps are crucial to a good fit and they are very generous, so going with a 6 was a winning move for my low volume/medium arch foot. Since it is a sandal, the length is fine too..nothing hangs over the edge...but if it were a closed shoe, the 6 would be too short. The cork sole is very comfortable and the sole is nonskid grippy rubber with small lugs. Even up close and in good light, they look matte black. LOVE these sandals.

I am returning these Merrill sandals because they don't fit at all. I have worn Merrill shoes and sandals for years but these just didn't fit me well enough to try to keep them.

I wanted to love these slides for the style, and I have other Merrell shoes that fit great. However, the sole of my foot sat catawampus in this shoe. It wasn't that they were too wide; the straps were not loose. It was more like the footbed was crooked. Very strange. I sent them back, and I'm still looking for a comfy, stylish slide.

I can usually wear a Merrell 7M but this shoe was too wide.
