Moab Speed gives me the comfort for long walks on mostly cement sidewalks and asphalt roadways. Support is evident as my arches do not complain or hurt later in the day. Nice styling helps too.

The best pair of shoes ever to hit my feet. Better than walking on air. Seemed as though I was faster.

Very very comfortable, nimble on all manner of trails, from Ozark Highlands to Sierra Nevadas in the past couple of months. Have even used them for plenty of urban walking and everyday use as well.

I have had numerous Merrells and by far these are the most comfortable. I wear Moab Tactical, MQM flex 2, and Alpine sneaker. Saw these were new to the line up and thought I'd give them a try. WOW. You can't even tell you have them on. I have done 12 mile hikes in them, they have just the right support. These have turned into my new trail running shoes. Ready to buy another pair just to have as walking shoes as other option other than my Alpines. Get a pair, you won't be disappointed.

I was having a heck of a time finding the right shoe to hike in. I had gone through standard boots (blisters and sore feet), lightweight trail runners (sore feet and not enough grip), and finally these. I logged a good amount of miles with these and have had zero blisters, hot spots, sore tendons and sore soles. These shoes grip great and are so comfortable I want to wear them all the time. They look good too. They seem to run just a tad large, so even though I ordered right at my size, I need to cinch the laces a little tighter to get a good fit. Live these shoes. I'll be buying a backup pair.

To me these shoes feel like your walking on a cloud. I'm on my feet about 9-10 hours a day, now they dont hurt.

Love the shoes. I use them on the woods trails near my home and as casual shoes around town.

I walk about 5 miles per day. Both knees and hips have serious arthritis but the Moab Speed cushions the ride while being very supportive and comfortable.

I bought these shoes a month ago and all I can say is wow! They are the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned! They feel great! They are super light, and super comfortable. The midsoles are very soft and cushy. And the grip on the outsole is fantastic.
I will say, the spongy feel on the heel took a while to get used to, but it's great once you've gotten used to it! It helps absorb some of the impact of your step.
In regards to the width of the shoes they seem to be slightly smaller than the moab 2. I wear the normal width in moab 2 and have a good amount of room. With the speed, it fits almost perfectly with no extra room to spare. So if you're someone who bounces back and forth between normal and wide width with shoes, you may want to wait for a wide width version.
But I'm super in love with these shoes! I would make little Merrell babies with them if I could!

I've been wearing this shoe for about a week. It's light ,great traction , best low-top I've ever had. The soul is soft , so it may wear down more quickly , but if this shoe lasts even half as long as my previous shoes then it will have been worth it.

With only one review, I was taking a chance, but boy was I rewarded! I walk briskly on the roads and paths in our neighborhood, and also on the trails in the hills nearby in Sonoma County, CA. These are the perfect shoes for me. I knew the fit of my other Moabs, but wanted something lighter, with enough cushion for the roads. Out of the box, I did a 5 mile walk, and loved the shoes immediately. A couple of days later, I wore them for a 5 mile hike in the hills, with the same result. These are now my favorite shoes, and I highly recommend them.

Moab Speed is a fantastic, vegan-friendly hiker that feels like you're walking on air. It really does! Don't understand how, but I'm loving that about it. Respect to Merrell for making vegan shoes better & better. This one is super lightweight & has the Vibram sole that really makes hikes seem effortless. Looks are killer, too. Keep it up, Merrell !

Not much grip but, worth the price on sale. Not a great hiking boot. It is comfortable for sure!

Purchased these for daily errands around town, walk the dog, and maybe cut the grass. Shoes are comfortable but toe box seems a little narrow and this is why the 4 star rating. If that wasn't an issue it would be 5 stars.

Best shoe I ever owned, the float pad design. I give history tours, so do about 2 miles each day I work, but only about half time each week. The uppers wore tears, but great comfort!

This is a good shoe, but does fit tighter through the pad of the foot than my MOAB I's do. I hope the MOAB III's fit the same as the I's or I will have to try the wide size or off to a new brand. I am sold on the MOAB I's.

I have had a lot of Merrill shoes, my favorite being Merrill floaters, these look to be good quality shoes as all my other Merrill shoes have been, however these shoes make a crunchy sound when I walk almost like I am wearing flip flops. they are extremely comfortable and very nice looking shoes,
I actually live near Moab Utah but have not had these long enough to take on the trial.
bring back the floaters ? now that is a comfortable light weight shoe. not sure they would handle a tuff hike but i sure love wearing them

Skipping along at 72! I'm a cancer survivor who was a weekend walker and was in great shape for my age! Cancer took its toll on my energy levels and my mental state. Not one to easily give up, I bought myself a new pair of walking shoes and decided to get my old body back into shape! These Merrill's were just the ticket!
