I love my luna mesh 3's but the soles are wearing out. I really wanted to like these from all the good reviews on here but they are just too uncomfortable The new tongue design is too tight and rubs and puts pressure on my ankle where it rests. Like others have mentioned the toe box also feels smaller as well but that could be because my 3's are broken in.

I found the soles to be too thin. I have been wearing Gloves for several and when I ordered them I thought they would be similar to what I have been wearing they are not. Nice to wear around the house

I love these shoes, initially, but the soles wear out way too fast. Had probably less than 10 miles of walking on them and could already see significant tread loss.

I bought these shoes after a fantastic experience with a pair of Trail Gloves a few years ago - before they ruined them by putting a shank in to the sole. These shoes do not have that problem, which made me very excited - I might finally be able to wear Merrell's again. That did not happen. The heel of the shoe is curved back towards the foot in a way which caused my ankle severe irritation and nearly destroyed several of my socks from the friction. It's possible that you won't have this issue, but be wary - I think it was a design flaw, not a manufacturing flaw.

Very uncomfortable and not the common fire and feel of the typical glove. These suck!

I purchased the vapour glove fives based on my previous experience with the vapour glove four. What I soon discovered is the sizing is inconsistent, and the shoes are too tight of a fit.
They are also a completely different shoe. Different sole, lacing, everything.

Sizing seems to run much smaller than Vapor Glove 4.

I previously owned and wore out a pair of Merrell Bare Access XTR's. They were great shoes that eliminated my long-time foot pain after I started wearing them. Unfortunately Merrill stopped making the XTR's so I gave the Vapor Glove 5's a try. But my foot pain immediately returned and I returned the Vapor Glove 5's. These shoes did not work for me.

The new design especially with the limited width is difficult to put on and uncomfortable. At a minimum order a half size larger apparently part of its inflation approach. Finally read the fine print on the ability to return.

Poor build quality, the stitches are coming off at various parts of the shoe. Also have a horrible shoe bite on my left ankle because of it.

I've run in Vapor Gloves for years and love them. This newest version is so tight against the achilles because of the new design that I could even walk across the room in them. I going to have to stock up on t he Vapor Glove 4 before I can't find them anymore.

So much less usable then the previous version. Big toe is much more cramped and there's a big seam now elastic into my Achilles. V4: ran marathons. V5: bleeding after 1 mile.

I loved my vapor glove 4's so much that I ordered severs pairs of these when they popped up. And even though I ordered a size larger than I have my vapor glove 4's in they are a fairly tight fit. Merrell has made the toe box narrower in this version more like other typical shoes and have deviated from this being a true barefoot shoe. It is still barefoot by being zero drop and having a thin sole. But the narrower toe box and reduced volume (space above your feet) make them quite tight and a departure from the Vapor glove 4 shape. Probably a great shoe for some, but much different than the 4's if you were a fan of those.

This is the 4th or 5th pair of Vapor Gloves I've bought. In all honesty, I must say I find the latest lacing design at the very best disappointing. Please know that I am 'old,' so slow to grasp 'progress.' Nevertheless, I find the silly aspect of replacing the ancient idea of lacing a shoe with 'eyelets' made so much more complex, and so frustratingly difficult to lace and tighten it just isn't worth the effort! Brand new, my 'Glove 5's' found their way to the church donations bag after a couple of attempts to lace them. Each time I look (wistfully) at your site for Vapor Gloves with eyelet lacing, I end up searching the Web for other brands.

The Vapor 4 had a tongue but the Vapor 5 has no tongue so it's basically a slip-on with laces. If your foot doesn't fit comfortably, you can't make it looser, only tighter. The Vapor 4 didn't confine your foot and allowed you to loosen it up.

I have been a big fan of the design of the Vapor Gloves 2-4, however this iteration shrinks the height of the toe box which i find restrictive and uncomfortable compared to the previous models.

Merrill has lost the plot. I've worn exclusively Merrill since 2007. All of their shoes are terrible now. They've discontinued the ones I loved. I bought these and a week later they were falling apart. I want my money back!!!!
Absolute garbage. I will never buy a pair of Merrills again. Goodbye.

I've been wearing Merrell Vapor Gloves for my running for years, and have LOVED them. I have worn out multiple pairs, and so recently when my last pair of Vapor Glove 4's started to get a hole in the sole, I ordered the only Vapor Glove available, the Vapor Glove 5. These shoes are ATROCIOUS. Completely redesigned, and it seems like Merrell has gone out of their way to eliminate all the good features of previous iterations. The 5's have a wonky built-in tongue that makes putting the shoes on a challenge, and the laces are made of a material that fights with whatever the eyelets/lace supports are, so lacing them is extremely frustrating. The sole doesn't seem to have the flexibility of the previous Vapor Gloves, and the whole shoe just seems to be cheaply made. I cannot overstress how much I abhor these wretched shoes. Super bad design!

I've bought multiple pairs of every version, and now this one is smaller to where I have to return them for a half size up. Also one of the laces came untied 3 times in 20 minutes, when my others have been tied for a year without coming undone. They don't have the color I originally got in stock, so now I have to get a boring grey one. Really need to make more color options, this is the most boring lineup of style options ever.

I've been buying the Vapor Glove for now over 8 years and fell in love with them, the light weight, the response to ground to foot. But in the last 3 years the Quality Control on the shoes has deteriorated to the point I can no longer bring myself to purchase them.
I purchased the last pair just a couple months ago, the tongue stitching came apart after one wear. The pair before that the sole started to separate almost immediately, and the pair before that the same issue with the separation of the sole.
Its like an old girlfriend, you have found memories of them but you know that the fit no longer there and it's time to move on.

These shoes are too narrow and the toe box is too small. Not a great choice for barefoot/minimalist if you want your toes to be comfortable. I can't wear these and will be selling them privately.

I got these just a couple weeks ago and have used them for daily wear. The soles are already separating from the upper. I am extremely disappointed in the shoes and in merrells customer service.
