I've been a Birkenstock wearer for over 30 years and have always preferred the Zürich--which is a very hard style to find. BUT, the Kyoto is a great substitute! I can wrap my foot comfortably & securely with these sandals and never walk out of them as I walk (which is important to me) I have a very narrow foot and appreciate the swaddle effect of these sandals. I waiver between a size 36 & 37 (No socks=36, Socks=37) My U.S. size is anywhere from 6-7, so it really has depended on the style. With these, I have both 36 & 37 :)

This is a rave! The morning after they arrived I ordered another (identical) pair because I don’t want to risk being without these when the first pair wears out. Unbelievably comfortable and perfect for me because one of my feet is wider than the other. And at the end of the day when that ‘bad’ foot is swollen I can adjust the straps. I have worn Birkenstock Arizona since the 1960s but Kyoto is now my official shoe. Wish they came in red and purple! (By accident, I received Kyoto in Gray/Taupe with the camouflage pattern upper strap and returned them - the upper strap is faux/vegan leather and I didn’t like it at all - but the Taupe Suede is real leather for both the wider portion and the upper strap. That’s a big difference to me!)

I’m new to Birkenstock and this pair is by far the best pair I’ve bought. I love everything about them. The width adjusts by Velcro in two different places and they are very secure on the foot. And the sizing on these is the best I’ve found yet.

This is the best shoe purchase I have made in many years, if not ever. This is my first pair of Birkenstocks and they are absolutely fantastic. Perfect arch support, perfect size/fit and overall extremelly comfortable. I have neuropathy on my feet and for some reason I find the lining of the sole very soothing. These have no cushioning but that is exactly what I was looking for and I find it is not needed. They look lovely and much better than average Birkenstocks to boot. Wish I had bought a pair years ago!

As soon as I hit order, I realized I wasn't sure if these had their soft footbed or not...sadly they don't! With the extra suede across the foot, the hard footbed feels even more rigid, and the edge of the upper cut in a bit. I hope they soon come out with this style in more soft footbed colors other than pink and pale yellow! Then they I might try them again! (This is from a 35 yr long Birkenstock customer!)

I love these sandals. They didn’t come made quite right, but I’m pretty handy and would rather fix them myself than wait for an exchange. I’m so happy to have these and I’m so glad I checked in the men’s section since they were out in the women’s. Also with the Velcro straps, you can adjust how tight you want it around your arch.

Love this style! Only narrow width left, so I went with that (am normally a regular width). Will still keep these - love the style - but would have preferred regular width.

I love the Arizona Soft Footbed in 40 Regular, but the Kyoto might be my new favorite. HOWEVER, I had to go to the BirkenstockUSA website in order to buy Kyoto in 40 regular. Zappos only has the 40 in narrow, which is uncomfortable.

Love the color and style very much and you won’t go wrong with any Birkenstock!

My favorite Birks, and I love all of them. These are classy, the adjustable feature is functional and useful, and are completely comfortable. I wish there were more colors. I miss Zurich, I hope they come back, but these are great. I was recovering from major foot surgery and really needed to be able to expand the size for swelling - they worked, but the Velcro strip could have been larger as I was right on the edge.

Get lots of compliments on this style, love the velcro instead of a buckle. Comfortable as all Birkenstocks are!

Sadly, must return. The top edge of the sandal was not comfortable. Also looks more like pool fit -flop once it's on your foot. The aesthetics of the Kyoto is less impressive in real life!

ran more narrow than Arizona

I returned these sandals. I really want to be able to wear Birkenstocks, so when I see a style that might fit my 10.5 Narrow feet I order them. In this case I thought the velcro strap would make for a good fit but the end of the adjustable strap ends up sticking out, looking ridiculous, and it's still not a good fit. I wish Birkenstock would offer a few styles in narrow sizes.

I really liked the sandals but they were just too wide.

Love Birks, have not had a pair in a while. I have a high instep and arch, and these were great from the moment I put them on!

This is my 4th pair of Burkies and the comfort never disappoints! The super soft adjustable straps allow for a personalized fit. Nice coverage on your foot too. I can see myself wearing these sandals all year long!

I have very narrow feet. These are adjustable and that’s great for someone like me. The shoes give me enough support, so my feet don’t hurt (I have arthritis in my feet). They are great casual shoes.

I sized down as I usually do with Birkenstock and these are perfect. I have gotten so many compliments on these and have been wearing them non-stop since I got them!

PLEASE MAKE IN MORE COLORS! These shoes seem to have been marketed towards men. Alas, they are the perfect shoe for women. Please bring back numbuck leather Kyoto in women's sizing. These fit so well and are comfortable right out of the box.

Overall, I like the sandal but it runs a little on the wide side.

Love the look of these, but definitely wider than other styles. I have different styles and I wear the narrow version. I can always adjust straps and buckles for a secure fit, but these couldn’t come close to being adjusted for my narrow foot. Had to return them.

I could adjust the strap but it still wasn't secure enough around my foot. It kept slipping off. I think I need straps higher up on my foot.
