Most comfortable, supportive shoes ever - and they are fashionable! I have bunion and tendon issues, but refuse to wear athletic shoes or old lady styles so these Birkenstocks are my delightful answer. I love the midnight color and the matching laces with little cork trim at the heel. They are comfortable to wear all day, and wonderful at wicking away moisture. Even after wearing them all day, my socks are dry. I wear Arizona sandals in 41 narrow. Often, closed shoes don't fit the same and require sizing up for toe space. That is not the case here; the 41 narrow shoe fits perfectly with plenty of toe space, so order your regular Birkenstock size. And if you're not familiar with Birkenstock sizing, the narrow is not as skinny as a US narrow, it is more of a narrow to medium.

I wanted to buy another pair of Birkenstock Arran sneakers, but they have been discontinued. These sneakers are bulkier, heavier, and not as comfortable or attractive as the Arran, but I am keeping them because it is almost impossible to find sneakers with a squarish toe box. The only thing better about these than Arran is that the toe box is a bit roomier vertically. The footbed is the same but the heel feels loose, and the fit overall is a little bigger. I am usually between 41 and 42. The 42 regular width in Arran fits me, but in Bend, 42 was too big and I exchanged for 41 (also regular width).

This shoe is very wide in the toe but narrow in the heel.

I wear Birkenstock sandals all the time, and should have known better, but thought these looked like comfy sneakers in that Birkenstock shape. But they aren't. They are stiffer shoes that might have a place at work. Not their fault: they need to be true to who they are and it's not fair to them or me to expect them to change for me.

I never thought I’d use “Birkenstock” and “cute” in the same sentence! I love these sneakers! I’m a longtime Birkenstock devotee, but I’ve never felt they were particularly attractive shoes. Super comfy but not cute. I live in my Florida sandals in summer and Boston Shearling clogs all winter. I hardly ever wear sneakers because normally I nrrr to wear orthotics and I find the flat shoe’s uncomfortable compared to my Birkenstocks. Then o saw these cute sneakers and decided to give them a try. I bought the same size as my sandals. They fit perfectly. There’s really great arch support, so I don’t need my orthotics. I love that the toes are roomy but the shoe fits closely elsewhere and doesn’t look like I’m wearing flippers. No breaking in period at all. Love ‘em!! and they’re CUTE!! Who knew?!?

I’ve always worn a size 40 narrow Birkenstock, so I was surprised to find that a closed toe and heel Birk shoe is too short for my foot. These are very cute, so I will be returning them for a size 41.

I have been looking for a cute pair of "sneakers" but many have zero arch or foot support. These Birkenstocks are just perfect. I purchased a size 40 Narrow which is the same size as the Arizona sandals I have and they fit perfectly with just enough space for a light "no show" sock which I use to prevent blisters. The slightly wider Birkenstock toe box is really comfortable. The cork footbed is surprisingly supportive and cushioning although I was prepared to replace it with my usual orthotic. I got the sandcastle canvas color and the combination of canvas and suede is very stylish. Also love the strip of visible cork in the heel. I have had a lifetime of foot issues from bunion/hammertoe surgery and stress fractures and am so happy to have a pair of really cute sneakers instead of "old lady with bad feet" shoes.

I was very happy with these shoes when I bought them in March 2021. However, by May 2022 they were shot, starting to separate and one sole worn through to the cork. I live in the upper midwest, and was not using them in the winter. Birkenstock's response to the problem was to provide a list of places to go to check on shoe repair. As my various Birkenstock sandals are great, and have made it through multiple resoling, this was a disappointment. Sadly, will not be buying these shoes again.

Was a little skeptical about these but they are really comfortable. I've worn them barefoot and with thin, no show socks. Not sure they'd fit with anything thicker. TTS in my usual Birkenstock size. Definitely needed the normal width due to bunions. As usual with Birkenstocks, the first week or so is the least comfortable. Found the insole in these to be softer than the sandals.

I LOVE these shoes! I have many pairs of Birkenstock sandals, and these fit similarly. I usually wear a 37 in the sandals (with my feet in there just right, no extra space at the ends), and I purchased these in a 38 to allow for thin socks and they are perfect. They are cute and sporty - so much more supportive than a Converse or Vans. The arch is not as high as original Birks, but still great.

I love love love my Mayari Birkenstock sandals, so I bought these. The toebox is slightly roomier than in other similarly styled shoes, which was my main purpose, but the insoles on these are WEIRD. They sit way too high? Especially on my right foot? I have ended up just taking the Birkenstock insole out, and am trying to figure out what to do about it. Spend $60 more for more Birkenstock insoles? Go without insoles? Shove some cheaper, narrower insoles into these shoes? For the amount I spent on these, I'm....disappointed.

I anxiously awaited the arrival of the Bend sneaker and REALLY wanted to love this shoe. I tried 2 sizes and could not make either work. I am a Birkie loyal fan and normally wear a 37. The 37 Bend was a bit short but still way wide. The 38 nearly fell off my foot. If you have narrow feet (and especially a narrow heel) this will not work without exceptionally thick socks.

I have wanted a good fitting comfortable athletic shoe for some time. Since in the summer, my Birkenstock sandals are my go to shoes. I was pleased with these Bend Canvas shoes since are comfortable and have plenty of room in the toe box for my bunion feet. However…..I can’t seem to get rid of the squeaky sole sound which prohibits me from wearing them out. I tried sandpaper twice and fabric softener sheet as internet suggested but no help. So now I just wear them in the house and listen to the sound….since wearing them briefly outside I can no longer return them.

Fit and size were fine, but I've been wearing Birkenstocks for decades. My only problem with this shoe was that the collar was too high, to the point they were unwearable. The side hit about 1/3 of the way up my ankle bone and rubbed terribly. Socks didn't help. Breaking in didn't help. Arran's are perfect for me, and I thought these were similar. I was very wrong.

Shoe style was cute but sizing didn’t work. I needed a true size not two sizes in one shoe.

I wanted to hate them. So far the are keepers. I bought them for walking around town. I have taken them around on 1 mile loops this week, and no problems. If you have a normal width foot, buy the narrow. I really like them.

I live in my Birkenstock sandals and have owned a previous pair of sneakers from Birk and wore them out and they were discontinued. Been waiting for another Birk sneaker that is fashion forward and comfy. These are it! I put them on and walked 5 miles right out the box. No blisters and no pain. My biggest issue is the toe area and these are so roomy. I ordered the same size of my sandals and they are perfect. I highly recommend and they are so cute.

I usually wear a 41 in sandals, but needed a 42 in these sneakers. I also got the narrow fit, as my feet tends to be on the narrow side. I really love these sneakers, they are comfy enough to wear walking around all day. They are stylish without being old-folks-looking. The arch support is very good, although I will be getting a felt pad to augment as I have high arches and need a little more support.

Narrow Birkis have always fit me, and this shoe does not disappoint. 39N gives me a nice, comfortable toe box and a narrow enough heel (with lace adjustments) to keep me trucking through a day of teaching without sock slip.

I was hesitant to purchase over the internet without having a chance to try these on and find out for sure whether the size was true to fit. In the end I decided that it was low risk to purchase from Zappos and bought these shoes. I'm normally between size 12 and 12-1/2 and so purchased the shoes that were that size. I wore them around today for the first time and came to the conclusion that I got the right size. I was hoping for a comfortable shoe and that is exactly what I got. I'm quite happy with how these feel and how they look. Very satisfied with my purchase.

I bought these because I damaged my right foot and my summer Birkies were the only shoes I could wear. I was hesitant initially, but love them now.
