The new revisions of the Leroy have made these my favorite pants. I bought the Ladon and Microchip, 34 reg. I'm 5'11+ and weigh 174 lbs. The addition of two back pockets (need only one) with a cover flap is a much needed addition. I don't like to carry a phone in a thigh pocket. The hand pockets are deep. These pants are super comfortable, light weight and fast drying. I was considering the Palisades for my next Camino de Samtiago, but the revised Leroy will make the pilgrimage. The flap on the back pocket of the Leroy is much better than the Palisades zippered back pocket. I have to stretch before hiking and the zipper is uncomfortable when lying on a floor. Plus the Palisades hand pockets are shallow, so you better not forget to zip them. Well done, Arc'teryx. Leroy is highly recommended and a must have. You won't want to take them off.

I recently got my second pair of these, I pretty much lived in the first pair, they are cracking. The first pair must be over three years old by now, they have been battered and worn constantly (must be hundreds of times) for just scudging around the house/town/work and on a large number of hill days, plus 17 days on the CWT (washed in a burn once) and a few other shorter Scottish multi day trails. To see them now you wouldn't know it, after a wash they could pretty much pass as new. I've already worn the new pair for a couple of weeks now and they've been through a couple of washes, they dry extremely fast and wont ever need ironed, I like them even more than the first pair. So so comfortable with a nice soft, stretchy material, If asked to describe it, I'd say a very light, thin soft-shell, I suppose they would be regarded as quite form fitting but not overly so, even my stunted, chubby, built for warmth figure looks ok in them, even my sister in law remarked that she liked them, (first nice thing she's ever said to me...) IMO they are ideal for a Scottish, April to Oct/Nov period. Although I still tend to wear them daily through the worst of winter, I would dig something else out for hill/trail trips, I wore them to work yesterday, probably -1 to +2 with a real biting wind off the north sea and when I walked back to the car I could feel the cold through them. The hook and loop belt has been improved, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the first edition, I think these arc'teryx belts are easily the best and easiest to use of any belt on any outdoor trouser I have ever had (and I think I have at least another 13 pairs from the likes of Patagonia, Fjallraven, Montane, Rab, ME & Marmot). The belt seems to have had some elastic give added, it's a brilliant addition. I don't need to adjust or loosen the belt at all now when doing/undoing it , the fastening hook attaches/detaches with no effort. I have a haglof belt of a very similar design and it really does my nut in, trying to get the bar back into the loop, Arc'teryx have really cracked it with this belt and I would buy a couple more if they were available for my other belt-less trousers. As I haven't put the old and new pairs side by side, I think the thigh pocket has maybe moved slightly to the front, I wasn't sure at first if I liked it, but I've since barely even noticed it. I only ever really carry a small DCF card holder in it daily, and nothing in it when hiking as I'm not keen on stuff in my pockets. I'm also pretty sure my original pair doesn't have rear pockets either, I dislike them intensely anyway and have never really seen the point of pockets you sit on. The new pair however does have rear pockets but they are very discreet and don't have a zip, just a clever envelope type closure, they are that discreet I didn't even notice they were there until the second day of wearing them, I just thought it was a seam. If I was being picky and from a purely personal point and certainly not deal breakers. I would like a longer fly zip, although without having compared them side by side the new pair doesn't seem so bad, maybe I've just got used to it. Also being, because they are what I would class as slim fitting (and I'm definitely not) I think the hem is quite narrow, only in a personal cosmetic way, I would like it slightly wider so that they sit better on trail runners, it ok if wearing DG gaiters or boots though, my old Arc'teryx Palisade pants (another great trouser) are slightly wider at the hem and sit better IMO but they are also slightly less form fitting overall. while writing this review I've realised that these are overall the best 3 season hiking/outdoor trouser I've had, and I've had a lot and still got a lot (to many I'm told by someone very close to me...). I only came onto this site today to look for a slightly beefed up version of the Lefory pants for winter use and ended up writing a life story, sorry.

Love these pants. They are extremely well made. I have a pair that I've washed 30 or 40 times and they look brand new every time I take them out of the dryer. These pants are very durable for their weight but they're not going to take the kind of abuse that pants like the Gamma LT will take. These pants feel so amazing to wear when I'm active outdoors that I hardly wore shorts this summer and have worn them from April to November, even though they're super light-weight, summer pants. I'm 5'7'', 145lbs and I wear a size 30. The 30 inseams were sold out when I bought these but I had no issues hemming the 32.

I have several of these trousers in a whole plethora of colours & I must say, they're quite remarkable. I've used them throughout the year for a broad range of activities (apart from running) & they really are a sterling pair of trousers & really hold their own in anything I seem to throw at them. The shorts are delightful too.

I bought these about a month ago and have worn them on every hike so far since purchasing. I also wear them as a regular every day pant. They are extremely comfortable and great for hikes in Northern California. I have worn them in 90-95 degree weather and in SF 55-60 degree weather on the same day. They adjusted to the drastic temperature changes.

Perfect summer hiking pants - lightweight but strong fabric. Great for hiking but also fashionable enough to wear in town post-hike.

I've been wearing these the last three months covering over 200 miles of heinous bushwhacking through gambel oak, brush, and pinon trees. Until now I have not found pants that can withstand this abuse for more than a few weeks, much less in comfort. Comfortable enough as casual pants around the house. No signs of wear and great for heat. These are now my go-to in the backcountry and I just got another pair.

I love these pants and am on my fourth pair now with heavy daily use. The additional back pockets were welcomed from previous versions, and the cargo zip pocket is a must have! They dry quickly for my PNW bicycle commutes, and I can head to the pub after work and feel right at home. The comfort of sweatpants with the technology of black magic. I would highly recommend the Lefroy pant.

A nice lightweight pair of pants. Fit is great with a little bit of stretch. Trim fit without being too constraining in the crotch. The zipper pocket is great for securing valuables on the water or in the forest. The built-in belt has elastic near the back of the waist to provide a little give when you are sitting. Front pockets are are fairly deep, hand shaped (cut with a thumb area), extending from the crotch area back to the side seam, and are a stretchy fabric toward your skin and mesh on the outward side. New rear pockets have a button-free top cover which keep contents in. I have an older pair which just won't wear out. They still look new.

Compared to last years version huge improvements: two drop back pockets, lighter material (less canvas-like), zipper pull. Will be an awesome hot-weather hiking/trekking pant. They also dry super fast. Would like to see a tapered leg version (but for hiking boots the current leg fit makes sense).

I picked up 4 pairs of these on Boxing Day to replace my palisade pants from 2007 and I was extremely happy. These pants are light, durable, and they can be used for both working in the field, going out and doing errands around town, or just lounging around. Extremely comfortable fit and true to size.

I bought these pants about 8 months ago. They show little signs of any wear after repeated washings. I find that the fit is true to the size. They are lightweight, comfortable and look good enough to wear out on the town or hiking in the mountains. I like the look and fit so much I also wear the Lefroy shorts.

Phenomenal. I could not be happier with these pants. So comfortable, I can sleep in them (I am traveling right now so some nights clothes are slept in don't judge me). I spend an absurd amount of time thinking about and researching Arcteryx pants. Now that you have to really pay attention to availability, I felt that when I purchased the Lefroys that I was doing so out of a desperate need for a second pair of black Arcteryx pants, meaning that this model was 'all that was available at the time'. Maybe all of the reviews about the last version created the apprehension. Little did I know, I had just purchased my new favorite pants. Pockets are all great, both back pockets have the lip that keeps your phone in your pocket when you are getting out of your truck (can anyone relate?). Fit is trim, I would like a little bit more taken out of the lower leg (straight leg pants must be one of those things that the older generations are hanging on to, surly our grandchildren will have no concept of it), but overall the fit is great. The material feels fantastic; comfortable, stretchy, durable. I want two pairs in every color. If you are still reading this, stop, buy the pants, you will love them.

I bought my pants just over a month ago and I have wore them several times and washed a few times. I LOVE the pants. They run true to size and fit GREAT. To improve the pants I REALLY wish they had one rear pocket and a slight taper on the legs. Straight legs are OK but a slght taper would be GREAT!!!!!

These were my first pair of Arc'teryx pants and they did not disappoint. They are great for hiking in warm conditions and very breathable. The fit is great from the pant length, to the waist, and just the right cuff length to go over my hiking boots.

The Lefroy Pants are an unusual piece. If you are hiking in the heat, as the Arc'teryx website recommends for these, then I would think most people would opt for shorts. So why go with pants in the heat? The Lefroy Pants shine when the excursion gets more technical and dicey. The more climbing and scrambling you have to do - you'll want to opt for pants. The more wind, rain, harsh sun, and sand storms you encounter, you'll want to opt for the pants. The downside is everyday comfort. In the heat, these don't breathe as well as cotton or as well as shorts. So you'll need to be careful not to get too sweaty in your groin, or you'll be in tremendous discomfort. With powder and anti-chaffing gel, these worked out well in the desert heat - super dry, super windy, sand everywhere, but not much hotter than 80 degrees. If it's humid and goes above 80, I would opt for shorts and just take the hit on losing protection from rock abrasion, sand, sun, rain, wind, and cactus spines. Not having rear pockets is weird, but after a few uses, it becomes a non-issue. The zippered side pocket is good for a map only. If you try to put something heavy like a phone, it becomes extremely uncomfortable. Thankfully, the main front pockets fit and smartphone perfectly and you can't feel it at all even during a long hike. As the trek gets more technical, the Lefroy Pants become indispensable. The DWR works incredibly well. The fabric feels neutral with prolonged use - shedding it's "rain paint" scratching swishing sounds as you get going on your hike. Rock climbing leaves these unscathed and does trekking through sharp underbrush. In short, the harsher your environment, the better these perform.

Great pants overall. Fabric makes some noise not too big of deal. With all the pockets and potential amount of stuff you hold not sure how durable the belt buckle will hold

Like the title states: The Lefroy May Turn Into Your Go-To's. When I first bought these I really wasn't expecting too much other than a pant to wear on occasion, for casual and for a few summer hikes. I find myself reaching for this pant when the occasion is casual, hiking, climbing, work or running errands and doing house chores. Such an outstanding perceived value in the Lefroy. This pant is VERY air permeable which makes it a great pant for high caloric activities. Summer hiking, working or yard chores- the Lefroy will substantially mitigate sweating of your lower half because they are that breathable. Try and see, I dare you. The textile is abrasion resistant and surprisingly so. I originally thought that the fabric wasn't suited for climbing, but after wearing these for a few times due to leaving my dedicated climbing pants at home, the Lefroy has done this activity just as well and I have yet to see any sign of chafing or snagging. The Lefroy holds up very well. All the comfort is there just as well. With the aforementioned comments on air permeability, the stretch of the fabric and the regular fit make the Lefroy suited for whatever you may need to do. The belt stays tight and is easy to use. The zipper works just fine, and I have yet to see that it has worked itself down on its own. In summary, for the price, the Lefroy is hard to beat. I honestly don't know why you're still reading this and not getting one for yourself...just stop reading this now.
