I LOVE these! I wanted the Doc look, but I find them a bit clunky to wear. These have a slightly more narrow profile and refined look, while still keeping that combat look. I am 10.5-11 depending on brand, I got an 11, they are the perfect amount of roomy for cozy socks. The tread is serious, I found myself hiking up a steep slightly muddy hill on a walk and I felt more comfortable and stable than with my hiking boots. The leather is beautiful. No need to break in... they’re instantly comfortable.

I love these boots! These boots look edgy but without the angsty teen vibe. If you’re a grown-ass woman looking for a subtle boldness this is your shoe. I wore them for 16,000+ step (6-7 mile) trip to walk around a huge garden in PA and they didn’t bother me one bit. They aren’t as bouncy and lush as my Uggs but they weren’t uncomfortable either. I just didn’t notice them either way, which in my book is just fine.

These boots filled the bill in my long search for a black leather combat boot with lug sole, low heel, and rounded toe. But after 1 week of mostly indoor wear I am unsure of the leather quality: it is scratched and worn. I’ve had mixed experiences with my many Sam Edelman purchases and feel if I’d spent more and got my usual Fryes ( But they were sold out everywhere) I would not have this issue and would have a pair of boots to last forever.

I love these boots! They are beautiful, in style and comfortable. I have wanted a pair of black combat boots for as long as I can remember. I tried 2 different kinds of Doc Martens & they killed my feet, I almost gave up, but tjyen I came across these. They are Perfect. And they don't make my feet look huge like Docs. they are just a bit tight across my foot, but I'm sure they will stretch just a tad with time, (I have kind of a wide foot, so I was expecting that anyway). I am a true 8.5. These were tight to say the least. short on length. I would need to test a 9.0 or a 9.5. Order up if you know you are a true size.

I LOVE the style and look of the Garrett boot. Punk, Rebel but sleek enough for a 60ish woman of the 21st century. A little tight because I have a wide foot. I took them to the shop for stretching. I'll throw in an orthotic for more arch support. Wearing them to trot around Paris for my bday 10/21!?! F.Poe

They felt stiff when I first put them on, but once I was able to wiggle in my feet - I had no problem wearing them out all day. I thought I would need to break them in but they felt great. Love the more stylish combat boot look. I normally wear size 8.5 in sneakers, so I ordered these boots in 8.5. True to size. These are a keeper!

Fit is good, they look great but, the foot bed needs better padding. Otherwise, I like them.

I am a long time Sam Edelman fan. I bought a suede cream pair of boots that I wore all season & loved. I was afraid the color would stain and wanted a back up pair. I found these and figured I’d try. I love them! More than the original pair! Get them!

M daughter brought me 2 Zappos gift certificates; 1 for my birthday, the other for Xmas a couple of years back. I wanted to wear a waterproof and warm pair of boots for the wet weather in Paris and Venice, but I wanted a stylish, contemporary look too. I brought my first pair of Sam Edelman Garett Boots in black size 10 1/2 because I wanted some room for socks. These were just the ticket. the fit was excellent, and I received LOTS of compiments from men and women in Europe on my updated take on combat boots. I wore them with slim jeans and straight ankle length dress pants. I love them so much so, I brought a second pair in Brown. I love the Sam Edelman boots and shoes, and I love forward to buying more. I also like the delivery service. Easy, quick and damage free. F. Poe

Gorgeous boots and extremely flattering for the leg. Leather is so soft. There was no break in period. I have regular width feet. They were just slightly narrow, but I can still make them work. Sizing up wouldn’t have worked for me. I can wear thin socks with them, but keep that in mind if you need to wear thicker socks and/or have wide feet. I’ve already worn them so much.

These boots are PHENOMENAL!!!! They’re rugged and chic in one!! The fit is great and they hug my ankle so well. I am definitely thinking of purchasing the brown ones but for now, these are a staple in my closet. ????

These boots are larger (longer) than expected, but narrow. Decided to keep my normal size (7.5), add in some inserts and thick socks and they fit comfortably.

I have these in black from last year and wear them all the time. I wasn't sure if I would like the brown, but after trying MANY other boots I decided to order them and see. I do like the brown and even with the exaggerated sole they work in that color. My only complaint about both the black and brown is how easily the leather scuffs. I wear them for work which requires me to be on construction sites at times, so I think of them as somewhat utilitarian. However, I do want to try some shoe polish on them and see if that helps. If I were using them less casually, the scuffs would bother me. It's really a shame, because I love them in every other way and they're very comfortable! Even look good with certain skirts and dresses. As a reference, I'm just 5' tall and they aren't overwhelming.
