I really wanted to love these, especially give the hype, but durability definitely seems to be an issue. I ran 50 miles in them and had some very usual wear on the bottoms (see pic). Cliftons have been my go-to shoe (even on marathon race day) and I wanted to try these as a more responsive alternative with the newer foam, but I'm going back to Cliftons I think. It also just didn't fit my foot like the Cliftons. Still have that great slide in feel, but I never felt as secure in them.

Bought these for daily running, but they are so comfortable that I have adopted them as my daily wear around the house during work from home. Gonna need a second pair for that morning run.

I love this shoe and already own two pairs. I was previously a huge fan of the RINCON line, but the MACH4 does everything the RINCON does...just better. I have used the MACH4 for road, tempo, treadmill, easy day, hard day running. The only two types of runs I don't use it for are Trails (EVO SPEEDGOAT) and races (CARBON X). I LOVE THIS SHOE!

This is my first Hoka shoe and bought based on recommendation for cushioned ride. It initally felt a bit tight, but seemed true to size after flexing. The toe box is a little tighter than I am used to, but manageable. The support is amazing and after a long time had no knee pain or leg pain after a long run! Pretty happy with the shoe. If you are looking for a lot of rebound or light feel you probably aren't shopping for this shoe, but it is pretty low in that criteria. Wish the style was a bit more modern, but overall happy with the cushioning which is the reason I bought them.

Great all around shoe with a great lockdown. Feels comfortable and breathes well. My only complaint was the fact I ordered a wide shoe when I actually thought I ordered the regular. Instead of it being a running shoe I turned it into a great walk/jog shoe. I feel like a more narrow / regular shoe would be excellent to run.

My first impression is that they feel fantastic to run in, which is my main concern with a trainer shoe. My previously used trainers are the Adidas Ultraboost 19's and 20's, which tend to be on the heavy side of shoes. This is where the Mach 4's shine bright! They are very light and save you from harsh impact through their cushioning, yet they give you enough stability to make your run really smooth. My only concern is that I have only put these trainers through six runs (three between 9-11 miles and three between 4-6 miles) and the wear and tear on the soles is quite significant. Not sure they will last me nearly as long as any of my UltraBoost trainers (average 350+ miles under each). It will definitely be very steep having to replace these shoes for a fresh pair a couple of times a year if I increase my running regimen.

I'll be honest I was a bit skeptical with the shape of my foot with the size and width that I ordered (14 Men Medium width) Right out of the box it's snug and feels like it was just made. I just had my first run in them and I'll be honest, my run game leveled up 100%. I didn't realize how often I heel strike in my previous shoes and the way it is shaped it almost forces you to run with forefoot striking. My entire body felt the change and couldn't be happier. The cushion is firm so if you are looking for something with more cushion be aware, but i was able to adapt pretty comfortably and will be using these for a long time to come. Thanks Zappos for such a quick delivery and HOKA for making a fantastic running shoe

To Mach 4 Designer Team (https://youtu.be/2lKRrZUf31s). Congrats on the Mach 4! I am on my 2nd pair (both in red color). For the next version, make no change in the number of eyelets (as they help in lock-down). However, two requests: (a) Can the laces be slightly shortened? Can they be made stronger, flatter, better (take a look at the new Nike Invincible laces)? (B) Due to cicadas, the white-outsole got dirty very quickly. It is hard to clean-up. Can one color combination in future have black-outsole? Anyhow, here is hoping Mach 4 gets the daily trainer shoe of the year award.

These shoes feel like walking in heaven. I have owned a pair of ONN clouds and they have no comparison. Get these and your feet will love you.

The Mach 4 has less toe room than the Rincon 3 but a better overall cushion and no issues with the tongue.

Hoka Mach 4 is a great running shoe except for one issue in my opinion. And that issue is the toe box is just not wide enough for my foot. Causes lots of pain for me. It seems to me all Hoka shoes are now getting more narrow in the toe box area and they do not offer a wide in but a couple of their shoes. I think the Mack 4 would be awesome if you have a small narrow foot.

Comfortable right out of the box. Have only worn them a couple times so will see how they hold up. I wear an 11.5 or 12 in Asics and most other shoes - ended up going with the 12 on these and glad I did.

I have Bergen buying Hoka products exclusively for the last ten years, and had trouble with a recent purchase of the Carbon X. So I drove to Dick's Sporting Goods with full intentions of buying a Nike or Adidas product. But after trying on 12 pair, I could not get over the comfort and support from the Mach 4. It blew every shoe brand away for comfort, support and feel. I don't know why I had not looked at them before, but so glad I tried them on. I would make this suggestion, go into a store once a year to get refitted. I found I was buying shoes that were too big and just not right for my feet. The salesman at Dick's really took time to make sure I got the perfect shoe for my activity but also the perfect shoe for my fit and comfort.

After wearing Nike Pegasus for thirty years and buying a second pair of the Hoka’s says a lot. These shoes have made a big difference on long runs 10K+. Other reviews I’ve read complained of quick sole wear. Shoe goo on the sole remedies that.
I'd also recommend:

I have been searching for a shoe that can help me with a reoccurring peroneal tendonitis. There's something about the support of this shoe that these do exactly that. I'm starting to have some of my best runs in months thanks to these shoes. My only complaint is that they do feel a bit narrow they are otherwise perfect.

After using Clifton's and Bondi's, I discovered these. I read the reviews, and decided to give them a try. Purpose: Using for training and the upcoming 8K race. Thus far, 4 weeks of running in them have been glorious. When I put them, I grasp the mindset, Time To Fly.

This shoe fits like a glove and the support is pretty incredible for such a lightweight shoe. The color scheme is also an attention grabber too. My wife and I bought matching pairs.

I have been using this shoe for daily training runs, fast workouts, and long days 10-15 miles. It is super light, the upper is the most comfortable I've had in a Hoka, and the cushion has that typical Hoka feel and ride. I think I was expecting this shoe to have a bit more return on fast runs but I appreciate it being a bit more relaxed and would probably just need to go to the Carbon or more race style shoe to get that pop.

I bought these shoes because I walk a lot at work and I was having a lot of pain in my heal. As soon as I started wearing these shoes the pain in my heels went away! Only reason I give them 4 stars is because they are causing minor discomfort in my arches.

These are a great, highly cushioned trainer. They are light. I found that the sole held up fairly well. They do soften up a bit too far pretty early, so I would say, consider 300-350 miles being the lifespan. I prefer a bit more support once the break in period really happens, but they are a delightful option to the Clifton, which never particularly worked for me.
