LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this shoe, the Arahi 5 women's shoe. Started with Arahi 2, 3, 4 and now 5. The 3 and 4 were a little soft in the foot box area for ball of foot area. This new 5 has an additional band of support wrapping from the front of the arch across the top in front of the laces. It adds just a little more stability. I love how the shoe makes me and my legs feel younger. There is a spring in my step with the transfer of my foot through the step that I DON'T find in other support/stability shoes. I'm not sure how to explain it, but they feel light and I feel lighter. There is plenty of support and I actually am still able to wear my custom orthotics. My podiatrist had suggested I might consider surgery, I found that the right shoes, these, and proper physical therapy seems to be the solution for now. The base has good cushion, and the lateral stability prevents my severe overpronation. I finally managed to snag a black pair (easier to wear as an every outfit shoe than blue with candy colored trim). While trying to get a black shoe, I also tried the Gaviota 2 in black. The Gaviota though it had cushion, was much too rigid, not flexing as much front to back as I stepped. It felt much more like what I think of as a standard support shoe. I returned it. I'm sure it is a good shoe for those who need it but it does not have the flexibility needed for sports activity and that youthful walking feel. Hoka One One, please continue making this great shoe that allows me to continue to be physically active. I often wear a 10 or 10.5 in shoes, these I am a 9.5

These are my 5th pair of Hoka shoes. This time I purchased the new style with more support which my feet need. I walk a lot for exercise and typically my feet hurt when I have finished 3 or 4 miles. The first day I wore these, I walked 5 miles and my feet weren't even tired. These shoes help to keep me active!

I love these shoes. I have worn them before and went with the Brooks Ghost for a change, but exchanged them for the tried and true. These run wider and provide so much support and cushion. It's hard for me to imagine a walking type shoe that would be more comfortable to me. I expected a powder blue based on the web photo, but it is more like a light periwinkle which I prefer even more.

As a nurse I am constantly walking. The floors are concrete under that commercial tile so the cushioning and support are perfect!

I bought my Arahi 5s on 2/4/21 to work in as a nurse. This month (June 2021) the bottom of the soles are falling apart. I wear these shoes 36hrs a week and they are solely for working. I have only ever worn Hoka shoes to work in because of their support and durability. However, after dealing with the warranty and exchange process I will never buy another pair again. I called customer service and was told that I have to send in these shoes to be evaluated (which I understood), however they would not expedite me another pair of shoes. I will be without my work shoes for around 3 weeks because of this process. Now I'm going to have to go buy another pair of shoes to work in until they can even determine what they are going to do for my problem.

Since I've been wearing the HOKA ARAHI brand shoes I haven't been back to the podiatrist in the last 3 years for my plantar fasciitis. My wife recently found out she has plantar fasciitis as well; I bought her a pair of the ARAHI 5 shoes and she can't believe how much relief they have given her. I'd recommend these shoes to anyone who has plantar fasciitis, they're at least worth a try! Joey B.

Overall, the shoe is better than the previous model. The heel now has padding! It sticks up and out a bit more than I like, but it's comfortable. The inside of the shoe has a nice feel. It seems to grip your instep more and provides stability. The shoe seems a bit more curved than previous models, and the toe box reflects that with being more narrow. Not a deal breaker for me, but noticeable. Runs true to size and width. I ordered my usual 9.5B and it was good. The cushioning is perfect. For me, bondis have too much cushion, gaviotas, a bit too firm, but Arahis are just right! I'm primarily a runner, but I wear these walking, hiking, and around town.

As a woman who suffers from arthritis and is used to moving around it is devastating to be in pain, as it perpetuates the cycle of weight gain which makes arthritis worse. I bought these for stability and shock absorption, and the Arahi 5's do not disappoint. Since my purchase a few weeks ago I've been able to walk over 20 miles, which is HUGE!!! I look forward to losing the weight needed to return to jogging. I will continue to purchase these shoes until I no longer need them and can return to a neutral shoe. Even then I will continue to purchase!! Once you purchase the best why settle for less?? :)

I was recently diagnosed with tendinitis in my ankle and have pronation in both feet. These sneakers are the most comfortable sneakers I've ever worn. I have to use prescription orthotics and they're just as comfortable with them in the shoe. The stability is A+.

Love my Arahi shoes upgraded to the 5 this year. I put some serious miles on my shoes and I have a hard step. These bad boys never let me down. Super comfortable, I can wear all day long even after workouts and miles of smiles. I recommend my Hoka Ones to everyone wish I would have found them years ago!!!!

Love these shoes! I originally went into my local running store to get the new Clifton's (I had read such great reviews). However, the fit expert suggested watching me walk/run and said I needed something with more support. The second I put these on I loved them! They hug my feet in all the right places and are so light! For years I've been a huge Brooks enthusiast but I was looking to mix it up and I'm unsure if I can ever go back! They are drastically lighter than my Brooks Revels or Bedlams. Even though it's probably not suggested, I took my new Arahi's on a 10 mile run the next day and it went great! No blusters, and more important my hips and knees didn't ache part way through like usual. I saw some of the reviews said these run narrow, but I have a narrower foot so this wasn't a problem for me. They are snug throughout which really lends to how supported my feet feel, snug but not tight. I think it's also important to mention, that if you are purchasing Hoka's for the first time they run larger than other brands. I'm an 8.5 in other brands but an 8 with Hoka.

The Arahi 5 is my go to daily trainer! I do about 25-30 miles a week, and after my last Arahis wore out, I was dying for this update, and I wasn't disappointed! I think they dialed in MUCH better in the fit in this model. The toe box is nice and generous, which was a problem for me in the 4s (I actually had to get a wide in that version) and allows for plenty of room so my toes don't feel crammed at all! I also find this model actually fits true to size, where in the 4s I had to go a half size down. Love the design of the flared heel, my foot slides into the shoe so easily and I feel the upper really locks my foot into place. I also found that a Superfeet insert fits really well into this shoe, which I found I needed because the collar of the heel comes up a little high, and without the extra height the insert gives me I found my ankle bones hit the collar too much. But I see this a plus since the insert really gives you a chance to customize the fit of the shoe! My only other complaint is that the laces are a tad long! Overall, this shoe has a great feel, with a smooth ride that feels super light, especially considering it's a stability shoe! The cushion is maybe a little firmer than you'd expect from Hoka, but I think it's necessarily and desired for that stable ride. This shoe checks ALL the boxes I look for in a shoe, which is rare to find in the stability category: lighteight, low heel drop, lots of cushion!

Maybe a half size too big but it could also be that they are wider than my usual running shoes. However, I am getting used to it and it's actually helped with the pain I usually experience during running. I will also try a half size smaller and compare. Overall, I love the color, support, and light weight feeling. This is my first purchase for this brand so I'm interested in trying different styles as well!

I love Hooka’s but for the price I want to be walking on clouds. I’m returning these bc the comfort just isn’t there, hurt my feet. I feel theses were a little bit more narrow compared to my Bondi I wear and not enough room for my orthotic inserts.

The only reason I am giving this shoe a 1 star is because the sizing is way off. I always wear a size US 8 in running (Brooks) shoes which is an EU size 39. My shoes arrived and were huge, literally a size too big. I looked at the tag and it says size 8 but EU 40. I am confused as to why all of my other running shoes have tags that say US 8/EU 39 but these are US 8/ EU40. They feel comfortable but it's hard to tell how the width will feel when I go a whole size down. I'm just disappointed that I will have to wait another week or two for another pair. I'll write another review when I receive the correct size to comment on comfort and fit. I included a picture of my Brooks tag for comparison.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks, Asics, New Balance, Birkenstock

I bought the Arahi 5 for daily walking, and I've really enjoyed them! They have enough cushion and are stable around my ankle. It took about two wears to break them in, but it's definitely worth it. I got the blue fog color, and they're really cute. With Hoka's return policy, you really can't go wrong with trying them out. Overall, I highly recommend these shoes!

Love the secure feeling I have in this model. The cushioning is just right, can still feel enough of the tread. I always buy one size bigger. I'm a 8.5, and I buy 9.5s. Good fit, and a little room for hot summer feet.

I love this brand,. The only problem with this shoe style was that my heels felt like they would come out of the shoe when I walked. It was an odd feeling I knew I wouldn't adjust to. Maybe it's the heel design with the large tab coming up?
I'd also recommend:
Hoka one one, Dansco, Naot, Mephisto

Second pair of this brand, firs was GAVIOTA 3 - and that was somewhat recently. Loved them so much thought I'd try another pair but went for the Arahi. Arahi is a little lighter and like it even better than the GAVIOTA 3 - if that's possible. Need the stability of Hoka One One for walking (I don't run). I have morton's neuroma in my foot and have had no problems with Hoka One One and in other leg - have knee arthritis). Also had plantar fasciitis in both feet in the past. I only wear comfortable shoes and these are it (as are the Gaviota 3). I got a 10W and plenty of room in toe box. And the cushioning is something I have never experienced before. Another pricey shoe but I am worth it.
I'd also recommend:
Mephisto (specifically Helen sandal), Earth, Vionic.

I purchased these shoes in an 8 wide. I’ve never purchased a wide shoe before. The choices of “wide” shoes are few and far between. These shoes would have fit better if my feet were normal. They are not. I inherited bunions from my paternal Grandma. I also have a problem with supination and wear orthopedic inserts. That said, I would love to try them in a 7.5 wide and return the 8’s. My fault for not doing my homework better. They really feel awesome though! My dog and I walk four miles a day, seven days a week. My feet are worth it. Thank you for making a WIDE shoe!

I feel the need to stockpile the Arahi because it is THE ONLY shoe I can run in, walk in, stay in all day every day that supports my flat, overpronating problematic feet! Unlike other stability shoes that are super stiff (and unattractive!), the Arahi is cushy, cute and stays supportive for a long, long time. I have tried to stray to other shoes but always regret it and come back to my beloved Arahi. PLEASE HOKA NEVER STOP MAKING THIS SHOE!!!!

I have autoimmune connective tissue disease and psoriatic arthritis. In the past couple years, I often would have a great deal of pain while walking or standing. Then, I began a walking program and staying experiencing even more pain. I'm talking truly debilitating. It became apparent that I needed proper shoes. I did research for a few weeks and determined the Hoka Arahi 5 was what I needed. Whatever the issue is, it's causing major over pronation which is why I selected these shoes. . I put them on and started walking around my house and was SHOCKED!!! It is truly life changing!!!! No pain! The absolute perfect support I needed!!! I was able to get on my treadmill and grind out an epic walk! I cannot be happier!! I wish I'd have done this sooner!
