I live in the ca desert.i have been searching for the perfect shoe for hiking in sand and climbing around in the rocks with the dogs. Until now my preferred shoe was sheepskin mocks, pretty minimal but pretty good traction, with rubber soles. These are obviously another entire level . The traction is astonishing . One of the most difficult surfaces , sand over granite , ceased to be a problem. They are perfect and they look sharp too. I wanted to be sure before spending the extra bucks for the leather version. They will be next. Very satisfying.

Second pair of these after almost 3 years of continuous use. Bought a 3rd as spare in case they ever stop making them. Wear them every day to walk the dog on easy trails. Unless its pouring down, when I would retreat to a pair of boots, then I can wear these in all conditions. I have pretty flat and wide feet, wear a UK9 normally and a 9 fit me just fine.

1st pair from Arcteryx. I bought them online without trying them on, and immediately took them on a 10 day trip around town/desert/rocks as my only footwear. Risky move, but it helped me find a perfectly versatile shoe that just fit me great. (Sizing is the same as Adidas)
Worked well in the rocks in the Sinai desert, decent in the winter in the city. Clean them up, get inspired by the Veilance collection and head out for fashion week.
If you like to travel light, this is the pair. I chose it over the waterproof version for better breathability and I'm quite surprised how well it handles wet conditions.

These are awesome shoes but just a half a size too big for me. I wish I could keep them. I am female with a size 12.5 women’s shoe. I discovered this brand recently and love them! These particular shoes would be so perfect if only!!! They don’t have them in a 10.5 so I will have to return them.

I have had these shoes for a couple weeks now, and love them! Style is not too flashy, they are comfy, and fit my wide toe knuckles and narrow heel foot nicely. When tied loosely, they are great for every day use, and if tied snugly, they provide the traction and support for hiking. I wanted a non goretex shoe for added breathability. I find my feet get sweaty and then cold and stinky in my minimalist goretex shoes

I bought the same shoe again now. I like the narrow fit of the heel very much.
Furthermore, the simple design is very nice, almost suits for a suit.

I've been heavily using a pair of these for a couple years now and they are awesome! The sole is super grippy and has sharp edges for technical approaches. The thick toecap is great for scree and rooty trails. The lacing going almost to the toes really keeps my foot in place when walking downhill and prevents my toes from hitting the end.
The fit is too narrow to be comfortable for an everyday shoe but awesome for moving outdoors. I've used them on low fifth class terrain and often rappel from multi pitches in them as the fit is so reassuring.
As a bonus, the grippy sole and tight fit make for an awesome clip-less biking shoe as they really stick to the pedals and keep your foot in place.
My only gripe is that they get wet pretty quickly and take forever to dry out. Maybe my next pair will be GTX.
After a couple years of hard use the upper is a bit scuffed and the edge of the toe cap has started peel away a little bit. Nothing unexpected and that a bit of gorilla glue won't easily fix. I've been really impressed with the durability considering what I've put them through.
Recommend them to everyone. I'm buying another pair when these bite the dust in a year or two.

Ive had these shoes for a couple years now and they've shown no sign of slowing down. I mostly use them for bouldery approaches in Squamish, but they also perform amazing on shorter hikes as well. As far as I am concerned this is my perfect approach shoe with the added bonus of its sleek all black look, it makes coming back into the city after a long day in the forest a lot less of a scramble when trying to make myself look a bit more presentable for meeting with friends.

I’ve used these shoes for 14 months. I absolutely love them. They have held up well with no seam issues. The Vibram soles are spot on and great for hiking and rock scrambling. I highly recommend this shoe.

Love Arcteryx shoes but their longevity has been questionable in the past. Prior shoes that I've had from the brand usually last a year before they start to fall apart. I owned the konseals for about a month and so far I'm impressed. I use the shoes for daily wear not for approach or hiking.

Has held up for 2 seasons of rock scrambling and backpacking. Not the lightest but makes up for it in not blowing out after 2 months.

Great shoe for rock scrambling and loose footing on steep trails. Super grippy sole. I ordered a half size larger than my Chucks and they fit great. If you have narrow feet you will love the fit of this shoe.

These are my "daily carry". Sturdy and stylish at work, ready to hit the trails, and can dress up for the evening. Especially good when traveling, one shoe does it all!

I recently purchased a second pair of these to wear around town, hike, backpack or do whatever. The grip on wet rock is fantastic, the midsole is very supportive for heavier backpack loads, they fit me extremely well, offer tremendous comfort over extended hikes (15+ mile day hikes), have good trail feel, offer great foot stability and thus far appear to be quite durable. I have Norvan VT2s as well which I also like, but they lack durability. For my intended use the Konseal FLs are simply perfect.

Got these a couple days ago, already did a few strenuous approaches. I can say that there are the best shoes I've ever had. The grip on this is insane, as good as TC PRos im not even kidding. So easy to ascend/descend slabs. The protection around the toebox area is generous and saves your toes from lots of random bumps while approaching. It's light, easy to slip in the foot. I haven't had it long, but I hope it can take a good beating.
Fitting: got a 9.5, my street wear is also 9.5, fit perfectly, didn't bother to get like 5 sizes and try on. True street size

Very well done and I am happy to say these shoes are holding up to all the abuse I can throw at them so far! The grip on rock or concrete is next level- & the build quality for such a light shoe had me wondering if they would hold to all day abuse. Worth every penny.

This is really a fabulous shoe. I had been looking at all the top name brands however every capable approach-type shoe I found contained GTX. However, in brutally hot/humid environments such as Anatolia Turkey or the Amazon Basin Brazil you need a shoe that does not have Gore-Tex as there is no need to stay warm or dry since its blistering hot. Well done.
