I definitely loved the look of this boot and wished that it would have worked for me. I found the boot extremely hard to get on and off which was a deal breaker for me.

I am petite (5' tall) and wear a size 4 in US women's, but often I can make a size 5 work in boots with thick socks. Not even close on this one. The boots were huge and they hit my calf in an awkward spot. Would not have been comfortable even with thick socks, had the fit been closer. The Graphite color seemed much more of a dull shade than it looks on the site. Trying again with Burberry kids rain boots.

Sadly, I had to send these snappy boots back. I ordered a size 8 and a size 9. Neither pair was waterproof. I chose a pair of Aigle boots instead. Strange that Hunters are now made in China, Aigles are (still) made in France, yet the Aigles were less expensive.

I usually wear a size 6 and these were too roomy - my foot kept sliding forward leaving room in the heel. Otherwise they seemed comfortable and sturdy. The description is somewhat misleading in that it says "Adjustable strap on the side" and yet "the buckle on this boot is merely decorative." I was disappointed that I could not use the strap to tighten the top of the boot.

For me, these boots did not run big. I originally purchased the Hunter short boot in a half size smaller than I normally wear. I am a 7 1/2 and the 7 was too tight to get on and off and not much toe room. I ordered the 8 and it was a much better fit for me with room for thicker socks or a sheepskin liner for added comfort. I also found when I walked, the back of the boot pressed against my calf. I'm sorry to say the second pair is going back not due to the fit so much as to the condition of the boots when they arrived. I don't know how many people tried on the boots before they arrived at my doorstep, but they looked awful right out of the box….not the new look you expect when paying this price.

I had been wanting a pair of Hunter rain boots and finally broke down and ordered this pair. Unfortunately, they just won't work for me. I have pretty narrow feet and small calves (13 inch). There was no support around the ankle to keep them on; these boots just flopped around if I tried to walk in them. The gap between my legs and the boot was huge. While these boots are cute, they are also rather clunky and heavy -- more so than expected, though maybe it's because they were entirely too wide for me. I know Hunter makes a style for those with wider calves, I really wish they'd make some for those of us who need a more narrow fit. Also, I adjusted these to the max - which isn't a whole lot. I returned these today and ordered a pair of Kamik rain boots -- we shall see if they're any more narrow.

Color is orange and not glossy at all. However, shoe was comfortable and felt true to size. Just didn't care for color.

I really really wanted these to fit! I normally wear a 7.5 in shoes so I ordered a 7. It was a little bit of a struggle to get them on and off and while they otherwise fit okay, there was no way I could wear socks or use the shearling insert. There just wasn't enough room in the toe box and my toes were compressed! I then ordered the 8 which made it easier to slip on and off but they looked big. But again, no room to wear socks or the inserts without squishing my toes! And my feet felt really cold-socks are a must for me! So I returned them and bought a different brand!

I have had these boots for about a year, and ultimately wish that I had not bought them (nor would I buy them again). I will admit that for the first four or so months I had these, I was much harder on them than your average "wear them when it is rainy" person, given that I was working at a job that required black rubber boots, and so these were getting worn over 30 hours a week (since then, they have been worn irregularly - probably only a dozen or so times). Anyway, given that the price of these is probably four times that of most rain boots, I expected them to hold up fine. They both have and have not. They are still waterproof a year out, and while some cheaper rubber boots will crack with frequent wearing, these have not. That said: the right boot has developed an irritating "squish" whenever I walk, and I am dubious about its longterm waterproofing capabilities. Inexplicably, the Hunter decal on the left has peeled half off. They cannot be worn on bare legs (must have pants/leggings tucked in) because they have literally rubbed my skin bloody. The worst irritant, though, is the blooming. Hunter will try and tell you that this blooming - or, white waxy film that appears and makes the boots look terrible - is normal, comes from extreme temperature shifts, and will wipe away with a damp cloth. This, in my inexperience, is extremely untrue. First of all, my boots were stored in a temperate house, not outside or anywhere with temperature swings. However, even if they had been: only one of the boots got the blooming, despite the fact that they were literally stored side by side. It was so bad that it turned the black boot nearly grey. And damp cloth, you say? Nope. The only way I got the blooming to go away was by purchasing Hunter brand spray/polish. Needless to say, after spending so much money on rain boots, I was not at all happy to be spending even more cash just to make these boots wearable again (since frankly, I was not going to go out with one grey boot and one black). Are these boots totally awful? No. The arch support, though not fantastic, is decent for rain boots. When it is not covered in a waxy film, the glossy black is really sharp looking. And for half the price, maybe I would not regret buying them - but at what they sell for, I wish I had not been caught up in the Hunter name and had gotten some off brand boots for way less cash.

I went back and forth between the Original short and the Original tall. I went with the short ones and they are really cute! However, when I put them on I wasn't crazy about the fit. They gaped a little too much at the top for me and were really hard to get off. So, I'm returning them to Zappos. They were excellent with their customer service. Whichever ones you order, get them from Zappos. Shipping was super-fast, too!

I ordered the next size up based off of reviews and the fact that I wanted to be able to wear a sock/liner in these boots. Sadly they are huge in the ankle and snug on top. Only order these boots if you have narrow/skinny calfs.

I waited to break these in 3 months before giving my 2 cents. We have a mini farm here in Germany, and I use these daily. At first they rubbed my calves raw even with socks on, and there is apparently a hole in one of the heels as it hisses and whistles when I walk. The coloring has also cracked and faded where the front of my foot and ankle bends. I had heard great things about Hunter Wellies, but I have to say, I'm not impressed... especially due to the wear after only 3 months for the price.

I really needed a waterproof boot and this does the job, but they are hot to wear and hard to walk in for long distances (I wanted to be able to walk around NYC in the rain). Also you must tuck your pants in, or they rub your shins and calves when you walk. I'll keep them for a rainy day, but they aren't what I had hoped.

I have not worn these boots yet as I live in the Midwest and snow boots are in order right now. I originally ordered the Hunter brown mat finish short boot. Every time I put them on to wear, they were covered in a white film. In some of the reviews, it mentioned the white coating and said it could be wiped off. I didn't know it meant every time you want to wear them, you have to wipe them off with a damp cloth. I called Zappos to complain. While the rep. I spoke with said they do not take back worn shoes, they would allow it this time. I ordered the black glossy instead. Hopefully, they will not require the care of the mat finish.

They're pretty, I like them better than the non glossy. The gloss does come back if you spray them with McNett UV Tech Protectant and Rejuvenator. Capris tend to slide out of these boots and as I have large calves, the top of the boot does rub against my calves and hurt a little. This doesn't happen with regular length pants. Other than that, they're comfortable to walk in. I got these in my normal shoe size because I wanted to tuck my pants in them. A size smaller worked for my wide feet but not for my wide calves as I couldn't tuck in my jeans. I already own a pair of Bogs that I can wear in midwest winters, they're that warm, so these Hunter boots I got for warmer weather. I don't really wear them enough to justify the high cost, but I also hate it when my pants get splashed.

Not as glossy as I thought they would be, but very comfortable and fun! I ordered a size down based on the other reviews and that was perfect!

Return - These boots look cute but that's about it. They're heavy and have a plastic smell. Do not expect to wear a cute skirt or shorts with these, pants should be tucked inside the boots to protect the skin, as I found out the hard way as the rim of the boots cut into my legs and left scars that are still visible months after.

I had ordered the Hunter tall boots before and thought I would try the short version. For me, I found them to be too large and sloppy in the calf area. The tall version of this boot fit much better on my legs.

I wanted to badly to like these boots. I still love my 10-year old tall Hunter boots. But the Military Red color in person was nothing like it is in the photos provided by Zappos and Hunter. Instead of being a deep, bright red, they were more of a rust color. Not the same look at all, so I reluctantly returned them.

These are beautiful boots and the color was lovely. I am a 6W and I happen to have proportionally larger calves so fitting boots has been an issue all my life. I ordered the 6 and they fit fine in the foot, with light socks, but the top of the boot is too narrow. I could tell it would chafe against my leg and tucking the pants in only made it more snug. There is no arch support but there is great cushioning in the heel. If these boots came in half sizes, I would have kept them. For the price charged, they should be perfect.

I love the red color and was so hoping these would work. I have large calves and thought since they were short that they would work. I did get them on, but barely got them off. They are going back.

This is so disappointing. I wear a size 11 so that was my original order. They are so big that I can't even walk in them. Since I love the boots I ordered a size down. They are so small I can't even get my foot in. What the heck Hunter?!?!?
