Boot took over a week and several small hikes to break in (about 15 miles). Once broken in, it was perfect for long hikes. Boot ran 1/2 shoe size bigger and don’t come in Wide. At first, I almost returned them because the toe box felt too narrow. I loosened the laces and tighten them near the ankles, made a huge difference. Completed a 23 mile loop in Grand Teton and another 17 miles the Next day. Boot held up and felt great at the end of 2 days of hiking.

Did about 30 miles so far. Just got back from summiting Mt. Dana and these boots performed great. My feet stayed dry even after waking through puddles and some deep snow. Traction is great. My feet were not tired afterwards. This is my first Salewa shoe and will purchase from them in the future.

Great boots. Unfortunately they are used and have a strong stinky foot smell. Real classy Zappos!

These were purchased as a gift. The boots slipped on easily and were comfortable enough to wear all day, right out of the box!

My first SALEWA boots/shoes, and I am very pleased. These boots fit the bill for strenuous day hikes--very comfortable, stable and light enough. I found them true to size, and I like how they look.

This hiking boot looks great! I wish it ran more true to size. It felt half to one full size too small. I really wished they fit better.

Update! I just said the Salewa boot was NOT waterproof and I may be wrong! I think I may have a nerve before experienced neuropathy problem with my foot. My apologies to Salewa - at least until I find out more. Everything else about the boot remains great.

This was my first Salewa and I like it! The fit is comfortable and true to size. I particularly like the "aggressive" sole. It's nice and thick without being too stiff. I walk one trail that is quite rocky and the extra sole protection definitely makes a difference. I haven't yet determined the quality of waterproofing. They did seem a tad "colder" in the winter weather I now am experiencing. TBD. To get this boot in my size I needed to order what I'd call green with orange highlights. It's attractive just noticeable and I usually prefer something "brownish". Not a deal killer for a good boot. I am happy with this purchase.

The boot feels great - each step on flat ground felt like I was walking down a slight hill. And seems very breathable and light. But, they're just too narrow for my odd feet.

This is a nice boot, just not for me. I like stiffer soles. The soles are also not Vibram but have good solid lugs. Also I found the lacing system hard on my fingers. I'm a female with big , narrow feet, so the 10.5 fit and was narrow enough.
I'd also recommend:
Scarpa, LaSportiva

Just got these shoes. comfortable right out of the box. Can’t wait to see how comfortable they are when they’re broke in.

I love everything about this shoe. It’s comfortable, beefy enough to take a bit of punishment, my feet stayed warm down to about 20°F and it looks cool. BUT, and this is a big “but,” it’s essentially worthless as a waterproof shoe. The “WP” in this shoe’s name stands for waterproof but they ain’t. I walked through wet grass when the shoes were new and my feet became wet. I think they might qualify as “splash resistant” and nothing more.
