These shoes are in the Brooks neutral energize category. I chose them because the Levitate is also a neutral energize shoe and I love it - or I love the Levitate 2, but the newer models have changed in a negative way. Enter the Ricochet. I haven't tried previous models of this shoe so I don't have that reference point. Beyond the neutral energize category, I was excited about the thinner sock-like collar around the ankle which I really like. However, I did not realize that this shoe also has that super thin, attached tongue that, for me, makes it really hard to get the shoe on and off. I also noticed little to no arch support, but that could be a me thing since I do have higher than normal arches. So I returned them and am going with the latest Ghost model (neutral cushion) which is a bit less streamline (ie, it feels a bit clunkier to me, although not excessively so), but is super comfy and has good arch for me (and a regular detached tongue).

Purchased these as a replacement for Brooks Ricochet 1. These are more narrow than my previous pair and I'm not a fan of the tongue being attached to the shoe. But they are still very comfortable, light and bouncy for walking on pavement and treadmill runs.

These shoes are not for me. They're supposed to be springy and cushiony and my experience was opposite. It felt like my heels sunk into the ground and calves were straining for my whole run. Over $100 for shoes wasted. Also colors are not bright as pictured. Sorely disappointed - pun intended.

This was one of five pair of sneakers I ordered for walking on streets and sidewalks. All the others felt either too high, too heavy, too squishy, or not supportive enough. These went on and felt like socks -- like they were made for MY FEET. Admittedly, I haven't worn them out of the house (yet), but the others are all being sent back. Not this one!

I love this shoe, however, the new Ricochet 3 is wider in the toe box than the Ricochet 2. I have bought 3 pairs of the 2, they fit well, wear well. I walk 2-3 miles every evening and no problems. I am returning these and will try a different pair. Brooks is the only shoe I wear.

This is my first pair of Brooks, so I can't compare to other models. However, my first impression is that I will now only ever buy Brooks! They are incredibly light (especially compared to the Mizunos I tried) and provide perfect stability during my HIIT classes. I LOVE the color. Other reviewers were expecting black and disappointed. I wanted the dark grey with black and they are exactly that! The knit and light shoe hug my feet perfectly and feel like an extension of my sock. I hope these hold up well because I want to wear them for a long time. For reference, I came from wearing Mizuno which I usually have to size up in (to 8.5). I am a true 8 and the 8's were perfection! The Brooks have already improved the knee pain that I had while in Mizuno. I'm 100% team Brooks!

Be specific about your likes and dislikes. How was the fit and size? What does the material feel like? How awesome (or not) do you feel wearing them?

Love these!! wish that I could still find them. I wore the PureFlow for decades and had all of the versions so was very upset when it was discontinued! After trying a couple other models - the Ricochet were my go-to shoe!

I have flat feet, knock knees and a partial knee replacement as well as surgical angle correction for my right femur, and these are the absolute best shoes I have ever worn. My running orthotics fit in them perfectly. The other Brooks shoes are also good but these blow them away with their lightweight springiness that puts so much more energy in my step and really helps motivate on runs. Please, Brooks, bring back the Ricochet or something else just like it - - the Ghost and Adrenaline, while good, just can't compare!!

These are the best running shoes I have ever worn. I have plantar fasciitis and I do not have pain running in these. I can't believe they are Discontinued. I am crushed. Back to feet hurting ?

High enough toe box, flexible enough sole for 87 year old feet. I play golf and walk, no running with artificial knees. I stand at least 4-6 hours a day.

I am a picky shoe customer. I usually wear the Ghost but the last 2 runs (not including the current one) we?re not cushy enough. Tried the Ricochet 3 and love it! Just wore them all day running errands and my feet feel perfectly fine. Was going to order another pair but see that I am too late, as they are out of my size. Can?t find a Ricochet 4. I hope they keep manufacturing the ricochet 3!

These are my favorite sneakers of all time! I am very picky when it comes to sneakers and these were perfect. Theu were wide enough for my feet, flexible, good for treadmill, and all other types of workouts. I'm so sad they're out of my size, I wish I could repurchase these. I hope Brooks comes out with more like these. None of their other sneakers compare to these!! (I've tried on many of them)

I've used the Pure Flow for about a decade and ran through so many versions. When it was discontinued, I went searching for a similar profile shoe with slightly more cushion. The Richocet has not disappointed. Drop is not much higher and toe box is spacious. The cushion feels like a dream- especially since I've aged a little over the years. The fit is perfect and doesn't sit too tight around the arch while allowing some breathe during longer runs. I tried other types and brands but this one has become my go-to now!

Great Shoe for workouts. I just purchased 5 pair of Brooks shoes for the basketball season. Snug hi around the foot. Solid sturdy foot placement on the floor for good balance during workouts.

My first pair and absolutely love these! A little less bulky than my Glycerins or Launch and keeps my foot a little more stable for CrossFit while still providing some cushioned support and sleek fitting that I need, especially with my foot that has pins in it. I?d buy another pair right now if they had better color selection.
