In a world full of cushion, it was nice to have this reliable speedy shoe to use for all distances from 400m repeats to Marathon. I hope one day someone realizes this shoe is necessary for stability/flat footed wearers who like to run fast, but can't handle the cushion of today's super trainers and super shoes. What a shame it's being discontinued. I shoud've bought the store after my injury playing around with today's shoe market so I would never run out. And now it's too late. RIP DS Trainer (and DS racer from the old days). I'll miss our PR's, and reliable training.

Great shoes, ASICS should continue making shoes like this instead of those bulky platform shoes they come out with. Some customers like to be light in their feet.

Great shoes do all my weekly running in them and have been training for marathons with them for years.

This is my 3rd pair of DS Trainers that should tell you what I think of these shoes, looks like Asics is phasing them out hope they're just coming out with an updated version.

Comfortable and good for nearly anything, great shoe

I enjoy the knitted upper and have had about 20 happy miles of running so far.

I have literally owned dozens of pairs of GEL-DS Trainers over the years. I am truly bummed that ASICS has made the ill-advised decision to discontinue this line. I truly hope that they will reconsider.

I use this shoe for my road racing it is great. I run 5k-10k road races and the only issue I ever had was when I tied it to tight but it is an amazing shoe.

Okay, after my Novablast 3s, these don't feel as comfy in a cushioned sense, but they fit well and feel faster. They have great ground feel and stability with a durable, grippy outsole. Ideal for speed work, shorter races, and lower-mileage training days. Got two pairs for my sons for track training, and they really like them. One said he's never felt faster. I probably should've led with that!

Very lightweight running shoe with great fit and feel. True to size. Extremely lightweight and very comfortable. I ordered these because of the clearance sale and I am super surprised at how great these shoes are. These might be one of my top 5 favorite Asics shoes I have worn in my 20+ years wearing Asics.

Super comfy, neutral support, great for day to day activities

Excellent fit, true to size and super comfy. First pair of ASICS as an adult (now 45) and loving them. Mostly using for long days at work currently but plan on starting to run in them soon and expect them to be supportive and fast! Ordered another pair of ASICS in black tones as soon as I tried these on.

I'm a competitive, Masters Sprinter (m72) and need a good gripping shoe with a sturdy toe box, flexible mid sole and minimal heal. The Gel-DS Trainer gets it all done. All my training is on a track, and the shoe almost feels as effective as my competition spikes.

Got this shoe to race xc in because my feet are so narrow and flat. I. needed a light yet supportive racing flat after coming back

Have worn off and on for 12 years, trained and raced marathons with good durability despite lightweight. Now 30 miles weekly and keep coming back to them. Would recommend.

It is a like weight minimalist show with good cushioning. It feels light when running and the feeling of wearing a shoe actually goes away.

they are great shoes - have been in DS Trainers for 10 years I think

I have loved these shoes they are very lightweight and responsive. 50 miles or so on them now shorter speed workouts 5k 10k they have been great for all different kinds of runs. It feels easier to go fast in these than to run an easy pace. They make you want to push a little more. I love the color way as well the orange gray and aqua just look perfect together. I think they would make an excellent gym shoe.
