I’m back — the reviewer with the itchy neck — to report that I made an error in my first review. The jacket I tried on was actually a size 18 (EIGHTEEN!), rather than a 16! I don’t know how it happened, but NO WONDER it felt a little large! Now, I’m debating about whether I need to start wearing a size 18 in EVERYthing......(heavy (emphasis on the heavy) sigh....)...

I have only just received this jacket so haven’t any experience wearing it, however, I do know immediately what my problem areas will be if I keep it. 1. The collar: Because it stands upright, the woolen fabric lies against my neck. I’m allergic to wool and it itches. There’s also a chain back there for hanging up the jacket, and it has generously sized links. They feel cold, clanky and uncomfortable. Probably the chain would warm up though. 2. The zipper: The front zipper is sewn into the coat with left hand zip, like a gentleman’s garment. It would take some getting used to. My husband really likes the look of the jacket on me, but I think it is just too uncomfortable for me to choose form over function. Still wrestling with my decision, because.... The fit is very nice, perhaps a little large in upper ribcage...? (Not sure about this.). The arms are a bit long, but this is fine with me. I purchased size 16/XL. I think it would fit quite well with a sweater or thin blazer underneath. I am not tiny — 5’9”, 185lbs, 38DD, 40 waist. Also, I don’t really enjoy wearing snug clothing, so I am happy with the looser fit. If only the standup neck didn’t cause itching...
