I had to return these because I found them to be way too chunky in the heel and there was too much heel to toe drop for me. No fault of the shoe necessarily , but I have pain in the balls of my feet and need a more even shoe. I also found them to be fairly unattractive style-wise.

These shoes fit perfectly and were super comfortable from the moment I put them on. In fact, I was so sure they were perfect, I put them on and went out! I have bunions and calluses and a slight overpronation. The size and width are perfect, and the arch support is as good as any insert.

First time buying KEEN. I really liked these out of the box. I had knee surgery and can't wear heels for awhile. I'm very active but not particularly "crunchy" in my style selections. However, these were surprisingly nice and I would buy them again. Super comfortable.

A nice lightweight, cushy footbed that offered many adjustments for my wedge-shaped, flattening feet. Even with plantar and pronation issues this sandal I think would have worked for me but for the fact that there was no heel adjustment so I could lift out of the right heel easily even with the other adjustments made to fit my foot! That's why "comfort" only received 3 stars.

After trying on BOTH an 8 and 8b 1/2 SADLY: I am returning both. At first I really LIKED this Keen Sandal as it accommodates my Wide Toes& has 3 adjustable straps!! But I do not like the "squishy" nature of footbed with little raised surface - sort of like a "recovery slide or clog". The raised & textured surface by itself would have been FINE. BUT combined with "squishy" sole: you feel like you are going Up & Down into little beads!! Thanks Zappos for letting us add a 2nd or 3rd review. Some times you don't REALLY know how a shoe will feel until you try it on with Tired & Hot feet!!

Fit was as expected. Comfortable and cute shoe. Unfortunately my pinky toe kept escaping as I wore it around the house to make sure I liked it. Had to send back. That would have driven me nuts.

I have always been a huge fan of Keen sandals and was thrilled to find a student deal on this new style. The beautiful purple color caught my eye initially when I was shopping online and then I noticed the velcro straps which didn't look dorky like those things can be very quickly. Think the sneakers Macklemore holds up in the Thrift shop music video. But these velcros look cool and they are really easy to adjust.
I am getting used to having the Keen footbed on the strap type sandal. In the past, I wore a similar style by Teva and there was no support... was kind of like wearing old fashion flip flops that way. I also had some Reeboks years ago that velcroed and the support was better than the Tevas but not as much as these Keens. The footed of these Astoria West sandals is slightly elevated toward the back... it slopes upward kind of like very tiny wedges. I am not sure how well I like it and how much is just adapting versus they just really hurt my back. In short, my midback hurts but I've only worn them twice now. I know that different shoe configurations may take time to adjust to and that I need to break them in. Do, I guess I will know better with time and more wear. If this style is true to usual Keen construction, they will last me for many years. They are worth the investment. Also, I have a size and a half difference between my feet so it's tricky to find something that works well for both feet. These sandals do work fine but are a bit large for my smaller foot. My bigger foor fits a 9.5 in women's.
People tend to notice when I have on purple Keens and give me compliments and I love to support an Oregon business.

Bingo! These are awesome! Someone had mentioned they look matronly, but I’m happy to report they do not! And I’m a shoe lover! These are insanely comfortable and attractive! I’m sure glad I bought them. Decided to try the purple ones out because they were on sale. I will definitely be getting at least one more pair! I’m between a 9.5-10, I bought the 10 and very glad I did; the 9.5 might have had a little bit of toe hangover (which drives me nuts)

Have loved every pair of Keens I have purchased (which is quite a few). So took a chance
on these. So nice that they can be adjusted in different ways by the velcro straps and
the toggle cord. They were comfortable and supportive, which I truly value. However,
the style with the thick down the center of the top of the foot strap and open toes just
didnt suit me. They seem as good quality as most Keens, and others may like the style more
than I did. try them and see for yourself...just not for me.

loved these Astoria west open toe ! I found the strap not long enough going across my instep as my feet tend to swell! I wore them around the house and noticed my ankles were getting like puff balls! Sadly going back!

My feet are narrow in the back but I need a medium toe box. These fit and feel good but I have to pull two of the straps as tight as they can go which makes the straps flap out and the whole thing looks clunky and off center. So, wish they made a slightly narrower version. I like the support and stability of the Merrill stiff sole for walking long distances and standing but I'll return these and keep looking for something more attractive.

Keen's Astoria West sandals are awesome. I wear the closed-toe version on the trails -- but love the open-toe for the patio. Beautiful sandals -- and so comfortable to wear.

I was so sad I couldn't keep these shoes, but no matter how I adjusted them, they were just too loose. I sometimes wear a 12 N, so it wasn't a total surprise. They look extremely sturdy and supportive. Would have been great for traveling in the summer.

I LOVE this sandal! IT'S COMFORTABLE (Especially the thick but lightweight sole.) AND LOOKS GOOD (LOVE the colour!!! )!!! I have only worn it for two days and the arch appears to be adequately supported, but I have not taken it on a long trek which would expose any potential lack. I have extremely high arches and insteps, a narrow heal and toes that need room to wiggle as I used to always go barefoot and unfortunately have each outer small toe on each foot that is not aligned correctly, so I am thrilled that I can adjust the fit and (BIG HAPPY SIGH OF RELIEF) my foot is not abraded by the inside of the material since it is lined with soft wonderful lining!!!! So grateful that it is true to size. I fit in New Balance Women's size 10 (avg width), if this helps anyone figure out their sizing....

These were comfortable for a first time wear. I am used to more arch support, but these were comfortable. Probably won't wear them walking for a long time, but running errands they feel fine.

Updating My Review from earlier this May. I wanted to see IF I liked the Keen Astoria West closed version of this sandals better. Specifically, the wrap around material might have not rubbed on my tendon. But....as another Zappos Customer wrote in her review: I NEED a HIGHER toe box. I just tried on the "OPEN TOE" version of Keen's Astoria West again and I will keep them. Still not sure about the VERY squishy outer sole as my foot seems to sink in when my foot bends. It is a Wedge style. I don't think they will be good for walking all day, but seem nice & comfy to wear other times. Definitely cuter than the the SAS dorky wide sandals that were going to be my "last resort" if nothing else fit this Spring!

Oh why no adjustable heel? To prevent my heel having the flip flop effect I have to tighten the straps across the top of the foot so tight that it really isn't ideal. Otherwise, the arch support fits my arch exactly. I'm not sure they provide enough stability for my overpronation, therefore not sure if they will affect my knees. So I don't know if I'll keep them yet. I have a large collection of shoes that are in the "almost" category, in which these also fall. I'll wear them a bit longer around the house and see if by some miracle they become the ever elusive sandal that works for me.

I just got these Keen sandals and wanted to share that they run a 1/2 size smaller than my Keen Kaci Slide (Clog), now discontinued style. These are WIDE enough vs Keen Solr Sandal which was TOO narrow for me. I like that they are "Open Toe". They feel a bit "squishy". Didn't have then on too long yet. Hope they are a keeper.

I wear a 12 in Naot sandals and an 11 in other brands, but these felt larger/longer than a 12 on my feet. The strap around the back, which should hug the heel, was roughly half an inch away from my heel. Wasn't satisfied with the fit, so returned them.

Cute style - but this was 'too much shoe' for my foot. I preferred the Skechers, light weight fit this year.

With as many straps as Keen put on this sandal you'd think there would be a way to tighten the heel - -nope! Heel was way too loose and my foot kept sliding around even with tightening the other straps. Bye-bye. Next.

I have high arches and the straps across the top of my foot wouldn't reach all the way. The strap needs to be longer.

When I wore these around the house without socks, they made a suck suck suck sound as I walked, which was not encouraging on any level. They looked okay, and I liked the velcro, but the front strap could not corral my littlest piggie, so they were a no go.

Returned. Purchased white in size 10. The white straps and white synthetic leather differ in color; looks cheap. Suggest other color options. Too wide; needed to adjust straps to maximum. Front strap too scratchy over toes. Would need to add moleskin to avoid rubbing.

So comfy to run around and chase my kids but also not be stuck to a full shoe. The one thing I did notice is if the shoe gets wet your foot will slide and then the toe strap can rub. I do really like them though!
