The new straw lids pull air not water through the straw. I returned it and the store added it to a box of lids that had been returned for the same reason. Very disappointing, Hydro Flask. I used the old product and loved it until my bottle was stolen

The straw does not work, it sucks up air only. Don't waste your money.

I bought my straw lid a couple of days ago and it doesn't work! Whenever i try to suck and get the water out, all I get is air. I love the idea, I just wish it worked

I recently purchased the current version of the Wide Mouth Straw Lid and have been very disappointed. The previous design used a softer material around the straw, eyelet and around the edge of the lid. This softer material appeared to provide greater thermal protection and made sipping the straw more enjoyable. The current design forms condensation when cold water is in the container and is stiffer on the lips when using the straw. Also, the seal between the lid and straw of the current design is not seamless and thus causes a slurping sound when sipping water from the straw. Please explain why the design changed when the original design worked so well?

I bought this around two months ago and am going to throw it away. The first straw lid that I got over a year ago was perfect. I got a new one when they were made of all hard plastic and I exchanged it right away because I couldn't drink from it. Its like I was just drinking air. I figured it was a flawed product so I got the same one. That was fine for maybe two weeks and started doing the same thing! When I try to sip water I just get air.

I bought this straw lid for my 32 oz Hydro Flask Water Bottle. I cut the straw to length, inserted it into the lid and placed it on the bottle. Very little water is coming up from the straw. At first I thought perhaps I didn't insert the straw firmly enough into the lid. After insuring it was on there as tight as it would go I tried again. Still very little water coming up. Trying the second straw that came with the lid did not improve things. Only thing I can figure out is there must be some kind of leak in the lid itself preventing the suction needed to bring water up the straw.

I upgraded from my 24 oz standard hydroflask with a sports lid to a 40 oz with straw lid...My husband has the old straw lid and it is awesome, so I was excited .. The new one has hard Plastic. And I can't get water through it., just air I will be returning it tomorrow. Please bring the old mode back. if I would have known the lid was such poor quality I wouldn't have spent so much on a water bottle.

I had to replace my water bottle that someone stole out of my truck. It had the old design straw lid on it. Got a new bottle with the new design straw lid. All I can say is why? Why did you change the design? This lid leaks like crazy, doesn't insulate near as well as the old design and the mouthpiece is hard plastic. The only improvement is a bit better thread design. I'll probably return bottle and just get something cheaper since spending top dollar doesn't gain anything.

Very disapointed in my purchase. The cheep, thin, non insulated plastic they use to make this lid does not keep anything cold. I load up my hydro flask with ice and winthin a couple hours with this lid on all the ice is gone compared to the 12h with the regular lid at the same price. Buying this lid defeats the purpose of a hydroflask, and takes away from the quality associated with this brand. Would absolutely love if they made a high quality straw lid

I have had 2 of the previous straw lids over the past 5 years. I recently bought a new lid and was unpleasantly surprised by the poor quality. 1) They took away the soft mouth piece. 2) It leaks at the base. 3) The mouth piece when fully open does not seal properly so you have to move it to find the sweet spot to get water vice air. I'll be waiting, impatiently, for them to bring back the old version.

I have purchased 4 sets of the wide mouth lids/straws in the past 6 months. Two sets are the black & gray & the new sets I purchased recently are all black. The newer all black lids leak air when used! I am extremely disappointed. I'm not sure if the new lids have some design flaw that old lids didn't have, but they are basically useless!

I am returning this product. It is not airtight when you take a drink it bubbles. Not how a straw is meant to function.

Like many others have said, the new all black straw lid just doesn't compare to the original (with gray features and rubber on part of it). The part you drink out of is a much harder material, which isn't very forgiving if you bump your teeth against it by mistake. But the main issue is the leaking. I know it's not advertised as 100% leak proof, but the original lid never even came close to leaking. The new lid has a constant slow stream of water leaking out if it's on its side, which is an issue for me as I carry my Hydro Flask in backpacks and my work bag. After getting the new lid, I put it in my work bag to take to work (as I've done hundreds of times with the old lid), and arrived at work to find all my things soaking wet (luckily my computer was spared). Not sure why they made the change, but definitely don't buy this new lid if avoiding leaks is important to you. I'll be returning my lid and trying to find the old version on Amazon. Please, Hydro Flask - fix this leak issue. It sucks not being able to buy a lid I can trust, especially when the old version was perfect.

So I bought the straw lid, hoping it would be life changing because I love and adore my hydro flask. But no, the lid barely gets water through and I've tried everything from changing the straw itself and all but nothing seems to help. I have a 40 oz so I didn't need to cut the straw or anything. I don't know what's happening but I'm very upset with this straw lid..

I bought my wide mouth straw roughly two years ago and thought it was time for an upgrade. This new straw is not as good as their last model. Its leaks so much more than the last one I had, leaving everything soaking wet around it. Im not sure if its cheaper material but Im not satisfied with it at all.

I just got this product today and I'm barely getting any water from it. I'm sucking about 3/4th air and 1/4 water, unless I push down on top of the mouth piece while I'm drinking. It seems like there might not be a good enough seal. Disappointing and not worth the money.

The old lid for the hydroflask was nice and quiet, but this new iteration has a super noisy escape valve that makes terrible sucking noises and infuses the water that you suck up with tiny bubbles. It's an awful redesign for sure

I recently decided to buy a new lid for my wide mouth hydro. I am so disappointed. I bought the first one about 3 weeks ago and its the new all black lid. After about 2 days I gave up on it and went back to my old lid. The new lid draws way too much air when you sip. To the point that it slurps. So no biggie, they're not that expensive I'll just go but a new one. Didn't want to return it since I cut the straws and used it. I finally went to the store tonight and got a second one. Same issue. We bought my husband one the same time I bought the first one and he has no issues. Besides the sipping issue, I do really like the new mouth piece material. It's not gummy like the gray one which is nice.

I have always preferred these types of lids for our hydroflasks and have even bought another of this all black one because I thought the first was a fluke, but these do not work properly!!! It's something with air pressure I guess and you don't get water easily and it makes loud noises. It is definitely this new design the one with grey on it doesn't do it.

The straw lid is not sealed and leaks if the hydro flask tips over. My 32oz hydro flask fell over in my car and ALL of the water leaked out of the straw lid. It needs a major redesign and overhaul. Plan on returning it.

I bought two new straw lids to replace my old straw lids with rubber straws. Both of my lids leak on my different hydro flasks. Even though it says lid not leak proof, I think it's pretty ridiculous to sell a product for a water bottle that is not leak proof. Since the hydro flask doesn't fit in the cup holder in my car, its tipping over and rolling over and leaking in my car. My old straw lids did not leak. The only reason I purchased new lids is because the old ones were looking moldy. Please look into fixing the lids.

Too bad. This was awesome while it worked. The straw leaks air and I have to press down in the mouthpiece to get a seal. My 2 year old does not use it anymore... nor do I
