I bought 4 of these at Christmas for my grown kids, who like to take their coffee to work. 2 of the lids are now constantly leaking and no longer usable. If it weren't for the leaking lid, I would have rated 5 star.

I have purchased 5 hydro flask coffee mugs (3 20oz and 3 12 oz) before realizing the lid had major flaws. The main reason why i purchased it was because i loved the idea of having the ability to clean every bit of the lid and that there were no foreign areas coffee could creep in. We put together the lid the same way every time yet we never know when it's going to leak on us. It's so frustrating, I would not have purchased this if I knew there were that many issues with the lid.

I would love this mug if only the lid didn't leak. Instead, I get a trickle of water from between the two pieces of the lid that leaks down my chest every time I take a drink. It's only a month old, has only been hand washed and air dried. Very disappointed especially given the cost.

I absolutely hate this lid. It is ridiculous hard to assemble. I've watched the YouTube video 800 times and have yet to figure out how the woman so easily twists the lid on. I use all my strength and cannot get it to twist on. I bought no less than 3 more lids hoping I just had a defective lid. They are all like that. After several days...and I MEAN days...of trying, I eventually give up and get my 300 lb nephew to twist it on for me. And even he complains about how hard it is. Love the flask, hate the lid so much I almost never use the flask anymore.

Too hard to clean. The old top was better. Can I buy the old one?

Bought this because I wanted something that was shorter than my 18 oz bottle. I wish this came with the standard wide mouth lid. If this bottle is laid on its side, the Flex Sip Lid leaks. Doesn't matter how tight you twist it. Thankfully it was filled with water and not coffee and thankfully the water didn't reach my camera.

Love the top. Does not keep my coffee hot long at all. I even microwave my half and half so that it's hot. But still after an hour my coffee is lukewarm

I bought this about 2 months ago because my old coffee mug no longer worked and I was immediately super happy. The mug keeps things super hot or super cold, is easy to clean, and the twist to open is easy to use. BUT i started to notice that a while into drinking a cup of coffee, it would start to drip onto my shirt. At first i thought it was me just being a clumsy coffee drinker, then i thought i had put the lid back together incorrectly, then i realized that its just a terrible design of the lid. Coffee can sit between the top lid that twists and the main part of the cap. then when you try to drink your coffee, it pours out of the division between the two lids. And it makes me so mad. I have coffee stains on all of my shirts. But i just keep using it because i want my ice coffee to stay cold.

I bought this a few months ago and sadly the lid started leaking. Whenever I take a sip from it, coffee spills out of the crevice of where you can twist them apart. When I try to file a warranty claim, this lid doesn't come up as one of the lids that I can send for them to replace. Super frustrating!!

I bought this less than a month ago and the lid is leaking like crazy - it is unusable anymore. There are so many parts to take apart when you are cleaning it. The cup is good - i have the water bottles and love them, but this lid is a miss.

I received this cup from a friend because my old coffee cup(7 years old) was starting to break from the handle , and she gave this to me as a gift because I LOVE coffee and she thought the lid/handle would be great for me for work. welp, the lid sucks. i purposely dont use this cup anymore because every-time i sip from it, it leaks and spills everywhere on my shirt! I cant have the happening to me before i enter the hospital :/ great cup but needs a better lid, supposedly this is a new lid from hydroflask. ive always had issues with hydroflask and their lids. my 40 oz water bottle (i dont use it anymore) because the straw lid (second time purchasing it) seems to leak and I noticed the lid has a rubber part that somehow always ends up missing and causes the leak.

Bought this due to size and handle, a real plus. But t only kept my coffee warm after a few hours. After 5 hrs barely luke warm, not what the manufacturer stated or what I expected for the price.

I am a big HF user and fan. But one thing they have not done correctly is make a good Coffee cup. A few reasons, the new flex lid is terrible, hard to turn and the little opening makes the HOT coffee burn your lips. Even using one of the other lids like the old flip lid makes this really just a good water bottle. News Flash HF perfect a tumbler for coffee not a water bottle for coffee. I would be glad to test drive this for you and give feedback before rolling it out.

Bought this about two weeks ago and it worked great at first. It kept my coffee hot for a few hours and on this days that I didn't finish my coffee while at work, I noticed it would still be warm after an 8hr shift! Sadly, after two weeks, the lid began to leak. Im so sad because I bought this specifically for the lid. I liked that it had a handle and that you didn't have to flip it open. This was disappointing.

We LOVE hydro flask! We have so many bottles and different lids so we wanted to give this one a try. Sadly, it's not great at all! The lid leaks constantly and is sadly a no go for us.

I bought this about 7 months ago and used it nearly daily for a while and now have ceased. Pros: looks great, never leaks Cons: It only stays warm or hot for ~1 hour, then really gets cold; most importantly, the coffee doesn't taste good! I diligently wash it after each use, scrubbing with hot water and a specialty brush, but the coffee/tea/espresso now tastes quite terrible and it's rendered useless. Disappointing for what I had hoped to be a lifetime product. It was great for a while, but ultimately not worth the money.

The container is great, as usual. But I absolutely hate this lid! It leaks like a sieve, no matter how many times I take it apart, adjust it, tighten it, etc. I have purchased two more lids for it over the last 9 months, thinking initially I got a defective one. They ALL leak like crazy! Don't waste your money! The lid is hard to put together and take apart, and it leaks every single time you use it.

Never drank in it without making a mess with the leeking lid. All parts are at the right place but still, doesn't work. Good looking and good quality materials but bad design.

I like hydroflasks, but this lid is absolutely abysmal. It leaks terribly from under the twist portion to the point where it is essentially unusable.

Was told this kid was leakproof and it couldn't be anything further from this. Entire bottle leaked through the closed and well fastened lid and ruined a notebook full of tens of hours of work from medical school. Furious and will never buy again.

I wanted a small mug with a lid that wouldn't leak. First the assembly of the lid is confusing. The fact you need an instruction manual and YouTube video on how to put a lid together is a sign. 2) when I'm halfway through the flask, it leaks. Consistently. I've spilled coffee and water on my shirts at work consistently. Embarrassing. I don't know why the lid has to be so cumbersome! I have a water bottle with straw that's great, but I'm not excited about this lid. I purchased this at a college campus and don't have the receipt anymore, so I don't know that I can return it. Bummer.

Keeps my coffee hot and doesn't leak but the lid design is horrible for drinking. Coffee gets trapped under the seam of the 2pc lid design and then inevitably spills on you or the floor. You can kind of prevent it if you always keep your lip on the top half of the lid but I never seem to be able to and end up with coffee dripping everywhere.

DO NOT BUY THIS. IT IS THE WORST LID DESIGN ON THE PLANET!!!! OLD LID WAS PERFECTLY FINE. NO IDEA WHY THEY CHANGED IT

You definitely learn how to put the lid together after doing it repeatedly, but that's not the problem. It's all the steps it takes to clean it. A Yeti, for example, has a magnet that keeps things together. Is a Yeti spill proof? No! But who cares? It takes less effort to clean! I wouldn't buy this again, or recommend it for impatient people.

I bought this cup to take my tea to work with me. I had a hydro flask for years that worked wonderfully for this purpose and I bought a new one because my old one was lost. However, this new 16 oz coffee flask doesn't keep my tea hot for even two hours. My old one kept things hot for many hours. I certainly won't buy a hydro flask again.
