Light years better than the original desert boot. I couldn’t wear the originals any longer because the lack of any sort of arch support. The inserts in these new desert boots give decent support (and they’re removable if you have specific insert requirements). The soles are better than bushacre’s but they’re not quite as spongy as the original desert boot. The leather has a smooth leather lining, so maybe not the best for barefoot or warmer weather use, but no break in required. Laces are also superior in quality, and they come with a set of leather laces as well. I wear a 10 in clarks (11 in adidas sneakers) and 10 in these fit perfect.

I liked these shoes, but for some reason there is only 2 eyelets for the laces and they stop about halfway up. This leaves the top open and very loose. I don't know if this is the new style or something, but after walking in them for about 5 minutes I couldn't take it anymore. Other than that, they are nice boots.

I wear these shoes everyday all day and I love the styling, fit and comfort. can go from the street to the biotech boardroom and am equally comfortable. They are superior to the originals in every way. I ordered 1/2 size smaller since I had tried these previously at my normal size and use my own inserts (orthotics) from Superfeet. The left fits perfect whereas the right (my smaller foot) is a little looser but not so much that its sloppy.

This shoe looks great, and exudes that cool casual vibe with a pair of denims like nothing else can. The only reason why I took away one star from "Comfort" is due to the fact that it feels more like an open-heel sandal when it comes to the fit - just two eyelets and the knot is too low. Again, it goes for that I-don't-care-if-laces-are-open kind of look, so if you're planning on walking a lot on these, prepared to be thinking about it coming loose on you all the time.

Needs more laces. My heel keeps slipping out. Great orange-ish color.

Love the style but when I purchased my original shoe size, it ran large. I exchanged for a half size smaller and the fit is great. Rated the comfort at 4 stars because I am new to a boot style. It will take some getting used to and it might become a 5 star.

Just love this shoe. Design is calm, elegant and beautiful. The fit feels good but I don't know about comfort yet because I haven't worn it yet. Now if you could offer it in a dark red or burgundy I would buy that, too.

Doesn't have the smooth calfskin leather lining as shown in the photos. Not sure if they just don't make it with the lining anymore, but was disappointed!

Ordered a 12 Wide. Was sent a 10 1/2 Wide. Do not understand how that happened.

True to size

Fantastic shoes. May been inserts, if you like more arch support, but these elegant and simple shoes are well made, extremely comfortable, and look great with anything. Total home run, I have two pairs now.

You're going to need inserts for these because they don't provide much arch support, but they really are fantastic. Look great, well made, work for any occasion. I love this leather version, the second pair I've now bought. Great for wide feet as well.

I have very wide feet, so even EE width is not quite enough. I had to add at least an additional full size to give room for my feet to spread out. Makes the shoe a little long which can cause it to curl up at the front, but that's easily taken care of. Felt a little tight at first, but I loosened the strings and they fit well. I'm glad these shoes are still available as I started wearing "desert boots" as a teenager back in the 1970s.

My husband has a wide foot with high instep so these were perfect.

Amazing comfort and fit. For those that need E/EE this is a great choice and excellent style. Inspired me to check out other Clarks styles and now have the Bushacre 3 and the Jaxen. Wish the Chantry Top can in EE but better for my budget that it doesn't.

Excellent fit. No break-in needed and comfortable out of the box. Great style as well.

Too narrow in the heel. I have wide toes and a narrow heel. If you have feet like mine, these won’t fit.

Thas shoe was at least one full size too big. I have an aftermarket foot bead that fits boots from size 9-9.5. The foot bed in these size nine boots was at least half an inch longer than that one. Otherwise the boot looked and felt great. Just wish they were properly sized.

fit was oversized and width was too narrow for a wide foot. Company stated it double extra wide but label on shoe was wide. As such I returned the shoe.
