Every other cycling shoe I have is size 46. In this style however, I had to move to 47. The shoe feels wider than specified making tight lacing a bit more critical. The shoe does not fit as tight around the ankle as others I've had, which means there is more heal movement than I have been comfortable with. This can be remedied with very tight lacing. SPD cleats are easy to install and setup. I used a drop of Loctite 243 on each of the SPD mounting screws to insure that the screws would not loosen over time. The shoes work well when laced properly and with the appropriate socks. I noticed no chaffing, rubbing or unusual pressure points that might cause blisters or irritation. They are also easy to walk in when not riding. The tread pattern helps guide the shoe into the SPD clip for easy clipping-in. The shoes are appropriately rigid laterally so clipping-out is easy and smooth. I ride with ISIS pedals that are flat on one side and have SPD clips on the opposite side. The shoes work well with this configuration of pedal.

These are my first clipless cycling shoe, and, so far, they seem to be holding up quite well. The ventilation is good and light weight and extra rubber on the bottom helped immensely while doing a 1.5 mile hike-a-bike up and down some pretty gnarly scree slopes last weekend. The boa system works well even after getting knocked around by several unexpected and abrupt departures from the bike. The footbed is far more stiff than my Five Ten Trailcross mtn bike shoes, though, there is very little cushioning. I normally wear a size 10.5 in Converse, Saucony (running), and Addidas (casual), and these were spot on. The upper material loosened up nicely after a couple hours of wearing. That said, they are, by design, quite snug. ...now I just need to get better at clipping out before I fall over...

Good shoes for SPD cleats. I have had other Shimano shoes so I knew to order a size 46, even though I normally would wear a 45 in other shoes. The cable closure system works well but you need a good grip to pull the knobs up to loosen the cable. I think Velcro straps feel more secure but this system is adequate for cycling shoes.

I ordered 44 instead of 43 because I have 3E - 4E width feet and I wanted to make sure they were wide enough. They are just barely and the extra room in the toes up front is fine.

This was a replacement pair and fit perfect. I usually wear a 43 shoe and try to find a wide width. That said the 43 (regular width) was too small and snug. I sent for a Size 44 and the wide width. I now own a perfect size for my ride. In summary, they run small but perfect with the proper size.

wearing size 50 (us 14) shoes is a challenge. these fit very well, toe box is wide enough and shoe is large enough overall. this is my second pair.

Fits nicely. First time using the BOA system and I am pleased with it.

I have always been between a 43 and 44, the 44 in this shoe is fine. I've never used the BOA system before and really like it. Makes for a comfy fit and an easy on bike adjustment. I always have had to tighten my shoes after about 20 minutes on a ride and this system is simple.

Originally bought a size up because some reviews stated they ran small. Turned out not to be true for me. Had to exchange them for my true size.

This is sized as a wide shoe, but it is not very wide. Non-wide size Bontrager shoes have wider toe box. Shoes seem fine otherwise.

It's really amusing what passes for a wide in cycling shoes. Even the wide model is super narrow (though I guess they are more appropriately considered "high volume" rather than wide). My Pearl Izumi shoes are a solid 1/2" wider than these. Fellow Hobbits need not apply.

Felt small and not that wide. Needed shoehorn to get my foot in the shoe. The plastic sole seemed narrower than my Specialized Comp MTB shoes. Too bad they are discontinued.

Technically these are true to length. However, they are VERY narrow in the toes. So much so that you need at least a full size (two Euro sizes) in order to fit.

I have no idea how to respond as to fit. This shoe is so narrow that I couldn't even try it on to determine if it felt true to size. My feet are of an average/medium width - I've never worn a wide shoe. But when attempting to try these shoes on, I tweaked my knee and popped my cartilage. Sending these shoes back immediately.
