It is exactly what it claims to be - use it to boil whatever (water, soup, etc.) on a burner or in the fire (wouldn't recommend using the plastic lid in the fire). The first time using the French Press there was a lot of "spillage" - the Stanley was very hot (so the metal was expanded), and the rubber seal on the bottom of the inner sleeve was very tight - about half of the contents came shooting out the sides...I've seen some people lubed it up the first time with some coconut oil - I wanted to see how it all worked baseline. The next time making coffee, everything worked just fine - the sleeve "pressed" smoothly with minimal effort, no spillage, etc. Recommend breaking it in at home (in the sink) before taking it into the wild. It seems to be well made, everything fits very snug, and I will no longer be limited to my thermos for coffee when camping.

I used this on a recent camping trip to Mt. Hood. It worked really good. What I liked best is it Stores all in one piece and it's rugged for camping!

First off I am a Park Ranger so I spend hours upon hours in the field. Between work and my personal pursuits I am almost always outside. I got this coffee pot to make coffee while at work on a small burner as well as for camping trips either solo or with one other person. I have been incredibly impressed. This little pot might just make the best cup of coffee I have had. Great value and completely worth buying. I really appreciate how the handle collapses for storage and everything nestles together. Now I just need a larger pot for trips with more than two people.

Used it for the first time on a primitive 2 day trip, having hot coffee first thing in the morning was a morale boost. Makes good coffee, no grounds.

I LOVE this for my French press go to. I was trying to cut back of coffee but this press and the right beans make my day. We have a glass press, the holder can cut you. We have the 48 oz. version, too big. This is the perfect size for a couple or small group to have just enough brew to start their day. Perks of being able to throw it over the fire.

This thing is worth its weight in gold! We take it everywhere and save so much money on brewing our own coffee. It lives in our car and is used well beyond the intended purpose of camping.

All in 1 allows me to pack coffee in the press for compact storage. Makes coffee as well as my pour-over system but takes less space.

I can make hobo/cowboy coffee and always have outdoors. But I ABSOLUTELY love Stanley French Press/Pot. The versatility of heating soup, milk or any liquid. I love the folding handles. I actually have two now, I tossed my glass french press and use the 2nd stanley FP in the house on a smooth top elec stove. I prefer gas stoves, but this French press works on a campfire, gas or elec stove. I use a small grate over the fire to heat the water and keep it warm afterwards on hot rocks. Cleans so easily too.

I really enjoy my coffee press. I use it in my home, almost daily. It's easy to clean. I just rinse it with hot water. The screen is fine enough that I make my favorite brand of coffee, Cafe Bustello.

Here is a link to the Stanley coffee press, I cannot recommend it highly enough and am about to get a second one! It makes a quart, 32 oz of coffee! And the pot can be used to boil ((purify water) or is a one quart cook pot with two folding heavy wire handles. I use it DAILY FOR ALL KINDS OF THINGS, AT HOME, BUT IT IS MEANT FOR CAMPING!

I love this! I use it weekly to make my iced coffee in batches for the week. I make my coffee as any other French press 2 tablespoons of grounds to 6oz of water. Let steep 3/4 min and pour it out.

This is a handy compact french press style coffee maker. The size is perfect for my morning coffee. If serving more people then this may not be the right product for you. Cleans up easily and is quality built.
