I bought this pack a little over a month ago when my other backpack zippers failed. I needed a pack for when I commute on my motorcycle to work and for every day carry purposes like when I go to the gym so volume and durability was a huge factor on my decision on which brand and style to purchase. Since I'm a wildland firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service I am very familiar with the superior quality and comfortable products Mystery Ranch has to offer so it was one of the first places I looked. It just so happened that when my older pack failed I was in the process of gearing up for a 3 day backpacking hike and campout that my girlfriend and I had been planning for months, so I kind of needed one that would be durable and comfortable. The Rip Ruck 32 did not disappoint. It had plenty of room for necessary items needed for our hike as well as a wonderful suspension system (shoulder straps, waist belt and adjustable yoke for various torso lengths). It also has plenty of accessory webbing for attaching equipment to the outside of the pack. I was able to apply carabiners and other straps for carrying my tent and sleeping bag to the outside of the pack as well as carrying four water canteens in the spacious side pouches as well as a water bladder in the laptop compartment. Overall this pack served its purpose and then some on its maiden voyage. I continue to use this pack daily just for every day conveniences, whether riding my motorcycle or driving my truck. I really enjoy the rip opening features on both the spacious main compartment opening and the additional utility pockets and the durable, water resistant zipper system. The only other options I could see myself wishing for on this pack are a couple of strap keepers for excess shoulder strap webbing and a water bladder hose opening at the top of the pack like is equipped on the Hotshot 3 pack and other fire line packs that I am familiar with. Otherwise this pack is everything I was looking for and extremely well made. I give it an A+ -D.O.

I just came back from a cruise to Alaska and used this bag as my daily carry. I loved the ease of getting in and out of the main compartment with the magnets and two zippers, and even received a lot of compliments from fellow veterans that saw how easy it was to use. The two front pockets also use the same method to get in and out of, which also makes it quick and easy to get in and out. The two side zipper pockets are deceivingly deep and can hold more than you think until you put a lot of stuff in them and realize how much is in there. I also like that the laptop area has two slots, one for your laptop and one for miscellaneous stuff, such as important papers. The one thing I would recommend would be some form of strap tie down for the waste straps when you are not using them. I will be purchasing some since this did not come with any, but that is my only complaint.

The shoulder strap of my old pack ripped. A co worker of mine has the rip ruck 24 and told me to check them out. I ordered the rip ruck 32 and I'm so glad that I did! I wanted a laptop compartment and water bottle holders. I enjoy the organization, ease of entry, and adjustment points. This is an awesome ECD pack. Highly recommended.

I got this bag to replace my haggard EDC backpack that I've been using since college. I wasn't sure if the 32L would be too big, but it's just right. Solid construction, quality materials, and not super tacti-cool like many of the other EDC bags out there. Any change I would make is more internal organization in the mesh compartment but that's a nitpick. Would recommend this bag 100%

Packed out my Rip Ruck 32 for my trip to Jamaica WI. Had space to spare. Got all of my electronics, underwear, and a couple pairs of shoes in this pack.

I've used this for about a year and a half and I have nothing but good things to say. You can really tell these bags are worth the money.

My husband convinced me to buy a pack that has lots of function. Love it! I use it for work and hiking. It is holding up great compared to others. Hiking is a pleasure in really rugged terrain and long distances you forget it's there. The added feature of the whistle provides an added level of comfort when hiking alone or leaving the office after dark.

I purchased this pack for trips I take in my job. It is the perfect size, and with all the pockets, I can carry and easily access everything I need. It keeps me organised, with everything in its place. I new I would love it, and it didn't let me down. It is a pack I will use in many years to come.

I needed a new backpack for work that would allow me to travel with my computer and materials through the airport without issue. The bag is very spacious and well made. Everything about this bag screams quality down to the zippers and magnets. The price is quite a bit more than anything I have used for this purpose, but the features and quality make it a worthwhile purchase. This bag allows me to stay organized on my trips and I look forward to many years of use with this bag.

Like all Mystery Ranch products it is solidly made of high quality materials. Lots of space. I wold recommend more internal pockets or get a few small pouches. Like to compression straps for smaller loads. Long and short I love it!

This ruck is perfect, but it now. Lots of space, overbuilt zippers, quick release clasps, even the small touch of magnets to hold the main flap down while zipping it closed.

This thing is a tank. Well thought out and laid out. The separate pocket fits a full size laptop and a surface pro with a med size notebook. The main pocket has plenty of space to work out of. It would not be great to hold lots of text books but would hold 2-3 large text books but not 6 or 7. The side pockets are deep but wide. Perfect for a radio or light rain gear. Perhaps a med size water bottle would fit. The problem is that it pushes into the main body, not bulging out. It has some molly on the outside that is fine but meh for it's usefulness. It's not cheep but you do get what you pay for and you get a lot. Overall, it's awesome and I imagine it will be the last mid size bag I ever need to buy as I bet it will outlast me!

I needed a good everyday bad and I'm a big mystery ranch guy. I have the ruck, 3 day assault, and needed something everyday (not tactical) bag and this seemed like a good fit. It is comfortable and perfect size for me.

I love the size, just right for day hauling. The shape is great too although it can result in heavier loads, but the features compensate, with a solid waist belt and chest strap. It was a challenge to stuff under an airline seat, mainly because of all the electronics now located underneath seats. Features pockets that are easy and accessible, the main compartment is good for large jackets, gloves etc but can get a little disorganized. It's a solid built pack, easy to customize the fit with the back panel and shoulder strap adjustments. Stands up to travel and commuting quite well.

Husband uses this as his "EDC" everyday carry bag. It has tons of pockets and spaces for everything. He seems to like it and especially liked the waist belt.

The Rip Ruck 32 arrived and it had everything that I was looking to have in a multi-tasking pack. I have two other packs that are used for various travels and day hikes. They can now be retired with this one pack.

I have the smaller Rip-Ruck and I loved it, but found it to be a bit small for some applications, so I bought the bigger one for daily use. Only complaints would be that the bottle holders on the side have a hard time holding larger bottles like a standard Nalgene bottle. When you set the back down bottles always want to fall out. Also wish the bigger bag had the same zipper all the way down the front like the smaller one but these struggles are splitting hairs. Over all great versatility and durability.

I love everything about the pack but I do wish the laptop holder area had a bit of cushion and a strap to secure one of the pockets closed

The backpack overall has been incredibly useful. The reasons I gave 4 stars are as follows: 1. The two front pockets lose their usefulness as soon as sizable items get added to the main compartment. I put a good amount of items into the main compartment for a flight and could barely fit two protein bars into either pocket. 2. The side pockets are wonderfully sleek. They suffer the same issue as the front pockets, but not nearly as bad. 3. The bottle holders on the side. When there are items in the main or side compartments, it feels like my water bottle is about to fall out of the side pocket. Adding a drawstring or maybe a bungee strap to help secure items in place would be amazing. 4. Slightly wider shoulder straps. The straps are very comfortable, but after a while, they start acting somewhat like a pressure bandage on the front of my shoulder and start slowing the blood flow to my arm to where it starts losing feeling. This product is great, but has issues with bulk and sizable amount of weight inside of the bag.

Bought this bag for daily use. Love the bag design and functionality of the packets. The pull open zippers and magnetic flap ends. The zippers seem sturdy but one on the main flap seems to stick trying to close it. Time will tell how well these zippers hold up to heavy use. Overall, extremely pleased with the design and comfort of wearing this pack. Pack can be adjusted to be used as a heavy ruck for a legit hike that requires full support or for a quick daily pack to throw over your shoulder.

I initially bought this for a training event and to find my personal assault pack. Sadly had to use my rucksack due to how much equipment I needed to carry. However I got to use it on a hike this past weekend. Put in an army plastic assault panel and it handled perfectly!

I've had the pack for about a month now and have used it in a field and garrison application. The pack is very adaptable to the spectrum of needs that I have between day to day requirements, and is well suited for more rugged use, I just haven't had the chance to do so yet. I do enjoy the magnetic snaps that secures you gear in the bag for quick transitions and reducing the need to manipulate zippers. The harness is awesome and as you would expect from a quality MR product and gives me versatility to use the pack in a classroom environment all the way to wearing body armor. My only gripe about the ruck is the two lower external pockets, I simply wish they were a little bit larger and capable of holding a little more. So far I've only been able to stuff one mountain house meal in there and that's about it. Overall I am impressed with the bag and look forward to using it for a long time.
