I can't give these a rating beyond 1 star because I couldn't get my feet into them... not even close!! The laughably sized opening on the size 42s I ordered measured 3-1/2". With no zipper or stretch in the goring or leather, there was no way to fit my feet into them. I have high arches and insteps so I'm used to some shoes not working for me, but these were well beyond the usual range explainable by my foot shape. They look like beautifully made... but they're are going back. (one other thing: they arrived with the leather on the toes and tops of the shoes pretty scuffed up, though they otherwise looked brand new).

I am madly in love with these boots! I was a little nervous about them since several reviews mention small ankles, rubbing at the ankles, a weird fit, etc. But I've always loved Birks so I took the risk, and I'm so glad I did! I wear a size 9-9.5 (womens) and have always been a 40 in Birkenstocks and Danskos. I'm on the border between narrow and regular width in most shoes. Since the regulars of these were sold out, I opted for the narrows. As soon as I put them on, it was love at first wear. I do need to use the little thumb strap to pull them on, but the ankles are no more tight than any other chelsea boot I've worn (like Blundstones). I wouldn't wear these without socks because they do rub a little in the front, but with socks I have no pain or tenderness around my ankles/shin. They have decent traction for winter, and the bottoms of my feet are supremely comfortable with the famous Birkenstock footbed. Easy to dress up or down. If you're looking for a chelsea boot that is actually comfortable, look no further!

The 40's were too big and the 30's were a bit snug in the toe, but they don't slip on my heel. I have Doc Marten and Blundstone Chelsea boots and they don't fit nearly as well as the Birkenstock. I love the Birky footbed. They are comfortable all day.

These r overall great. I recently left an office job that I had for 30 years to start a decor business. Upcycle redo blah blah. Anyway huge shift from sitting to up and at them. Had a lot of foot pain. Have orthopedic inserts from my doc but the shoes make a huge diff. Anyway so far so good. They r hard to put on super tight around ankle but once u get them on they r great. I did upsize … they look like Herman monster boots but I kind of like that.

I bought these for my husband--who is very difficult to buy for --esp. shoes, but he love these. The only thing that bothers him is that they are hard to put on b/c the entry is so tiny.

I'm female and bought these in my regular Birk size 39. Fit was just right. I wish I had listened to the reviews. I have flat feet and the beginnings of plantar fasciitis. I thought the Birk footbed would be just as comfy as my Birks sandals, but there is little to no arch support in these boots. If they had arch support I would probably not be so frustrated with how hard they are to get on. I've had them now for more than a month and I've really given them a try. But I find myself dreading having to get my feet into them every day. They are looser than the first time, but still really difficult to put on. There is no chance that you could slip your feet into them, you will have to sit down and use both hands. Shoving your feet in make your socks really tight. This tight fit is great for when you are wearing them because they hug your ankle, keeping them from sliding. But with lack of arch support, difficulty putting them on, and being clunky and heavy, they're just not for me. Frustrated that I spent so much. I will wear them on occasion just to get my money's worth, but I do not recommend.

I have been eyeing these for a couple winters now and finally decided to try them. I wear a 40 in my Birkenstock sandals but sized up to a 41 based on the other reviews and I am glad I did. I have wide feet with a high instep, and a lot of shoes (including the classic Dansko,) are impossible to wear. These fit and they are not too snug. I was able to easily get my foot in the shoe the first attempt much to my surprise. I wish they had the same insole as the sandals and clogs, but I might do what another reviewer suggested and add arch inserts. They are super cute and I look forward to wearing them this fall.

I love these boos. I was worried because my feet are not narrow, these boots fit like a hug from home!

If you know Birkenstocks and LOVE their footbed then these boots don't disappoint one bit! They are a bit heavy, but so versatile for outfits! I ordered them in my normal Birkenstock sandal size and can wear them with socks just fine.

The boot fit but it was still a little wide so my one heal slipped. I ended up sending them back despite the fact that they were comfortable because of that and also because the toe box was so wide in the front. When I looked down at the boot they just looked too wide for my foot.

I've worn Birks for years, and was excited to find these boots. I have foot and ankle problems; these boots provide good support and are very comfortable. Love that they are water resistant and have a rugged soles. Highly recommend!

These boots are the bomb, I bought a pair in charcoal gray and love them so much I bought a pair in black. In both pairs it took a wriggle to get them on the first time, the top has elastic sides and conforms to your feet and ankles. Once you get them on and wear them for a day, they are easy to put on and take off. They feel like heaven. They fit perfectly, I will be wearing these every day this fall and winter and am thinking about getting a third pair! As they are Birkenstocks, they are an investment. Love them.

Ordered two sizes. Kept the larger one and returning the smaller. Nice boot. The quality certainly seems there. Bought them for work as I can only wear black footwear. I have a crazy wide fore foot and narrow heal. These Birks seem to address this. Hopefully I can get to retirement with these as I'm reeeally hard on my shoes.

I read some of the reviews about how small the opening into the boot. I have wide feet and a high instep so I was concerned, but ordered them in my usual size anyway. When they arrived, I looked at them and prepared myself for disappointment, but my feet actually slid right in. There's a lot of room in the toe box and the narrower ankle keep them from feeling like they're going to flop off.

Perfect best boot ever

I ordered a women's size 8 which is my normal size. They fit very well in the foot and have that great birkenstock footbed which is so comfortable. I also appreciate the wide, natural toe area. The only issue is that the ankle is pretty tight. I do not have a narrow ankle or calf and I worry that it may be uncomfortable after extended wear. I did use a shoe stretcher to widen the top and it seems better.

I wish my feet didn't like Birenstocks so much. lol Another reviewer likened these to Herman Munster boots. So true! lol They are big and clunky. Also, birks are generally pricey and these are no exception. However, they are very comfortable, and since I have bunions, comfort has to trump style. Easy enough to get on for slip on boots. Good arch support. I wish Birkenstock would make a more classy streamlined low heeled boot, but until then, these will have to do.

Very comfortable and fits my ankle perfectly. I got a narrow and it is a little lose on one heal but With a sock it isn’t a problem. They are wider in the front to accommodate your toe box like a Birkenstock sandal so they are definitely good for casual wear. Love that they don’t gap at the front of the ankle like the Blundstone boots and the leather is much nicer and soft so it doesn’t rub on your ankle bone. I am a 71/2 and got the size 38 and the size is perfect.

I loved everything about these except the opening of the ankle rubs too much to be comfortable. Bummer, had to return.

These boots felt so great on my feet, except that the opening at the ankle was way too small and tight. They rubbed against my shins with every step. Please make these boots with zipper in them.

Sorry these have to go back. Love the style but they are uncomfortably tight around the ankle and at the top of the boot with a regular sock. Also, way too hard to get in as the elastic gore has no give.
