After ordering a 38 based on everyone saying these were too large, I exchanged for my usual 39. Here is why: the position of the arch. These clogs are meant to be loose and to slip off of your heel. If you go down a size, they will fit more snugly, but your arch won’t hit in the right spot. I have narrow, skinny feet, and I am 100% more comfortable in the 39 as a true 8-8.5. The 38 fit, but my feet felt like something was off. I hope this saves someone some exchanges! :)

The dusty brown Brenna is very cute. Like others say they fit differently than other styles of Dansko. However I don’t think it’s “bigger” I think it feels like right size if you have a wider or arched foot. I bought a 39 which is painful in other Dansko for me But on this style fits length wise and the top panel doesn’t push on my foot.

I avoided purchasing these clogs all winter because of the reviews that stated that they ran large. I’ve sized down in other Dansko styles before, but was never really happy with the fit so I finally bought a pair in my usual size 38. The fit is loose in the instep, but the length was perfect. Like the Professional style clog, this style has room for your foot to slide up and down while walking but does not have the padded instep which makes the Professional style feel a little more secure. The Bethann style also has a padded instep and fits a little more securely, but is the same length (see photo). I’m very glad that I didn’t size down, otherwise the arch would have been in the wrong place for my foot. This style is cute and comfortable, I’ll just wear a little heavier sock.

Fit feels like my previous Dansko clogs--loose which allows freedom of movement of your toes and heels. I am so glad that I was not deterred by another reviewer who noted that the brown/tan colored clogs are "catastrophically ugly". I disagree. They are two-toned in color, but that is clear in the pictures. the combo makes for an interesting color and texture. I wore Danko clogs for years, but stopped when they became very popular. I stopped wearing them because I I started running a lot (50-60 miles a week) and the heaviness of the clogs combined with the excessive running were just too much for my knees. To be completely honest, I also stopped wearing them because they are started looking a bit frumpy given the number of middle-aged women (like myself) wearing them...anyway, the roominess and support of Danskos converted me from a tight, uncomfortable shoe-wearing person to a woman who values support over fashion. Then I moved away from Danskos and onto FitFlops which are exceptionally comfortable and stylish. I missed the easy slip-on nature of Danskos and the extra height!! After 12-15 years of not wearing Danskos—I am back. The lower cut of these clogs, the lighter weight, and the exceptional color of these Brenna clogs have convinced me to return to clogs. I know that Swedish Hasbeen clogs are quite popular now, but they are too high for me. These look stylish and will be so easy and comfy for airplane travel. Thank you, Dansko and Zappos!

Based on reviews I downsized from my usual Dankso size 40 to a 39. Unfortunately the 39 was a very snug fit. I will be returning these for a size 40. I believe they would be very comfortable in my regular size.

These are comfy...I always have worn a 40, but as my feet have aged with a protruding bone on my big toe nuckle Danskos became uncomfortable. Also the top band would press down on my foot...I gave away 2 very new pairs for this discomfort after having kept them a looong time hoping I could wear them...I'm in my 40's now and have been a size 40 since my 20's. Because of the reviews on these shoes, I decided to try a 40, a 39,(and a 40 wide in my usual style. The 40 wide was ridiculously big.) The 39 in these felt good, it didn't hurt the bone, there was more room than normal, and no pressure on top...it's a great style..but on the right foot it hugged my foot a smidgen too much, after a while I started to "think" about my right foot...meaning it felt unhappy..a bit stressed...all this with a thinner type sock. So while the left foot was all good the right was rebelling at wearing these. I could have probably went to an even thinner sock, but don't want cold toes. With the 40(my normal size), I wore the same thinner socks, and felt like there was too much "play"...I tried it with an insole, and could barely get them on. Then it dawned on me that I should try a "boot" sock.. they fit perfectly!!! Also every winter with other Danskos I could only fit a thinner sock, so my feet would always be cold, but with the boot socks my feet are pretty toasty right now. So these feel like how your foot feels in a Birkenstock, so comfy..width for your foot. With the 39, it was more of a "womans" fit...I've been spoiled with the width that Birkenstocks offer, they are my main go to..unless I can order a wide in a shoe. On a side note in Sanuks the womens are too narrow, I don't think they carry a wide, so I can't get the cute womens shoe. If I buy Sanuks I size down to an 8 in mens, and it's another comfy fit like a Birkenstock... So yes these DO fit differently, and that's what makes it possible for me to wear Danskos again, yay! One more thing, when i was packaging the 39 to ship back, I noticed the fit guide in the lip of the box, and according to this guide is exactly how the 40 fit me. The 39 didn't fit these specifications, so I knew I was right on keeping the size 40 with a thicker sock.(I will include a photo of this guide.) Hope this helps : )

Oh my gosh….these are so adorable! I stopped wearing Dansko clogs because the base/sole was very hard and stiff with no flex. They were also very heavy and clunky. These are perfect in every way - style, comfort, cute factor. The two tone leather is super funky. I’ll be wearing them with funky socks and jeans in the Fall. Now, if they only had the blue in my size ?

I've owned at least 20 pairs of Danskos since 1996. I'm a 43 in their sizing which is about an 11.5. This shoe only went up to 42 but another reviewer said it ran big so I took a chance. It is very big! However, as these are for work, with a sock they will be fine but I recommend sizing down.

I have worn Dansko clogs for 30 years and worn a consistent size 37 for every single pair. I just ordered two new pairs and each size 37 was huge. What gives? I am returning both pairs.

Let's talk SIZING. Having bought MANY Dankso and Sanita clogs numerous times across 25 years, I was taken aback by the majority reviews saying these run large. THEY DON'T! Having purchased Danskos and Sanitas for decades, I already know the fit is intended to be on the loose side. These clogs don't fit like normal shoes ---- they are loose. I love both sizes. FYI: I normally wear my clogs barefoot. When I wear socks they are super thin. If you plan to wear these with normal or thick socks you might actually need to order UP a size. My opinion.

Ugly elf shoes, but super comfortable.

My first pair of Danskos. I debated these for a while because I just wasn’t ready to feel this matronly. But I work in healthcare and comfort wins over fashion. I have a wide foot and these felt snug at first and even pinched a little. I usually wear an 9 so I ordered a 39 and they feel a little long. I knew they would stretch so I decided to test drive them for a week and see how it worked out. They have started to loosen up, I feel comfortable throughout the day and my feet and legs absolutely do not hurt or ache at the end of the day. I’ll keep them since they’re comfortable and will probably continue to stretch. I wear them with thin socks or tights. They’re just not super cute to me and I feel like a garden gnome in them. But I’d recommend them to anyone who works on their feet most or all of the day.

The fit was perfect and true to size. The colors are beautiful and the feel is super comfortable. I’m such a fan I can’t wait to add more Danskos to my collection. As a professional nurse, I highly recommend these both for work and outings.

Ordered these in the black burnished suede, my usual Dansko size 38, my normal size in other shoes is an 8. I love the softer heel/shoe bottom, the look is a little sleeker, I think they look good with leggings, jeans, slacks maybe with a casual dress??? I do have to say, they feel longer than a 38 and a bit wide but overall I think they’ll work out well. If I went down a size they’d be too short and not have the space in the heel like Danskos should. Don’t think they have the support of my old Danskos but I’ll put an arch support in them and they’ll be fine. I’m going to France for a few weeks and these and my Ecco Nouvelle Oxford sneaker will be the shoes I take. If you have doubts - order, they can be returned if they don’t fit your foot but you may really like them.

I love my Dansko for work so much I wanted everyday shoes that would make my feet and back as happy. Suprisinly, They run a full size bigger than Dansko professionals!! I ordered these in “my size” 38 (I’m a 7.5 M). And they were surprisingly big. I reordered in a 37 and they are heaven! Not too narrow or tight around my high instep. Comfy insole. Just the right amount of heel lift and toe movement you expect in a clog.

I’ve always been a fan of Dansko Clogs, sandals and shoes. I also wear the Pro-XP Clogs for work. I was looking for a clog with a comfortable cushion, similar to the XP, and with a closed back. The Brenna more than met those requirements. I think they look great and are very comfortable. Also of note, in most Dansko’s I wear a 41, in a few I’ll wear a 40. These were definitely on the larger size and I needed the 40.

I ordered these clogs in my usual clog (Dansko) size. When I put them on my feet were swimming in them, so I exchanged them for the next size down. They still feel too big - it might be the style and/or design. My other clogs have the padded roll around the back of the ankle and the top of the foot so they feel very secure. This particular pair has a lower side and does not have that padded roll, so even with socks on, my heel just wants to slip out. I love the design and style, and I want to love them and keep them, but sadly we must part ways.

Very cute and comfy shoes, but I had to go a size down (36 down from 37). Apparently, the footbed on the Brenna is different from the one Dansko uses for the Professional clog.

Dansko are the ultimate shoe! I have been wearing them for 20 years. I always try another brand, but always regret it. I love the Brenna. It’s so chic & comfortable !

Sizing: I ordered my usual Dansko size and they were just way too loose. I'm used to the movement of a Dankso clog on the foot, but these would just fall off if I tried to walk across the room. Style: Big thumbs up for the style of this showe - it's like is a more polished version of the typical Professional style. A bit more shape to the 'toe' of the shoe, and slightly less of a platform.

I wanted a comfortable shoe for standing that was not a sneaker. It's an old-school clog with more arch support than the Candies I wore in 1981. They look great with skinny and flare jeans, and the brown has a slightly weathered toe that makes it look like it has a patina without looking sloppy. I bought a 39 and usually wear between 8.5 and 9. They're slightly big even with a thick sock, but I like slipping them off and on easily.

I have a few pairs of danskos and they vary in size from 39-41. These fit great in a 39. I'm typically a wide size 9, sometimes a 9.5 depending on the shoe. The are roomy but not huge and comfy right out of the box. I also think they look a little bit cooler than the typical dansko full foot clog style? The cut seems maybe a little bit lower and I like to distressed suede. They do seem to scuff up pretty easily but I got these for comfort and support and like that they have more of a casual look.

Looooooved these!!!!! I really really wanted them to work out, unfortunately, they were super noisy when I walked in them. Like unavoidable noise…sounded like farts each time I stepped…both shoes! They were crazy cute style. I almost was willing to problem solve the fart noise, but I just couldn’t…not for this price :( I had to return them.

I am a true size 11 and neither sizes I ordered fit me. Dansko couldn’t you make a shoe in the middle?? The larger size was too wide and clunky, the smaller size perfect width but just barely too small. However, the tan burnished suede color was gorgeous.

Argghh!!! I should have listened to reviewers who said it ran large. Absolutely true. For me they felt almost 1 full size larger. Hoping that by going down a size they won't be too small. I do like that the heel on these are lower with a slightly wider base than the traditional Professional clogs. These still fit like a traditional clog, meaning your heel will slide out slightly out of the heel cup. I knew they were too large when my heel came all the way out of the clog just walking around my house. The leather is slightly nappy and not smooth, just FYI.
