As other reviewers have noted, the inside back of this shoe wears away quickly -- within 2 weeks of wearing the shoe, in my case. The result is a change of gait and persistent chafing on the back of the heel. I can't recommend the shoe until they fix this obvious design flaw.

People say when you find a shoe you like, you should buy more than one pair. Luckily, these shoes continue to be available 2 years after I bought my first pair. These shoes are close to ideal for how I wear them. Walking on crushed stone, they hold up. Walking on wet boat decks, they don’t slip, don’t track dirt, and don’t leave marks. My feet stay dry. The photo is the two pairs I own. The original pair is two years old. Still useable, just a little too shabby for daily wear.

Interesting reading the other reviews, because I disagree with two of them. First point is on these being wide vs narrow - in most hiking shoes I need a wide size and with these i do not, I would definitely consider these wider than average. Second point is on them not being waterproof, I have walked through puddles and streams up to an inch and a half of water and my feet have remained dry.

Fantastic shoe. Maybe even Brilliant.... but juuust slightly longer than a true to size 10 in my experience. 30+ pairs of Nikes, from running shoes to basketball shoes to hiking boots, they all fit perfectly. The size 10 Bozemans though fit like a size 10.25....

The shoes are very comfortable the tongue is nicely padded. I am disappointed that they claim the shoes are waterproof and they are not. After walking through wet grass the sides absorbed water and my socks got wet from the side (not from the tongue opening.)

I love the look and feel of the shoes. I have another pair of Oboz Trail shoes that I purchased in 2019 and these seem a slight bit (not a full half size though) larger. I measure at a 12.5 B or C, so either a 12 that runs large and narrow or a 13 are the best options for me when manufacturers don't have a 12.5.

I have been an Oboz performance shoe customer for 10+ years and was looking for a shoe that had more style combined with performance and comfort. The Bozeman offers this unique combination.

I bought these right before a trip and with basically no break-in, walked 100 miles in them on slippery uneven medieval cobblestone streets. I bought a men’s pair because they were a little more roomy than the women’s, and wore them mostly with dresses—they are cute enough that I didn’t feel hideously unfashionable like you sometimes do when you basically only have room to travel with one pair of shoes.

These are exactly what my husband wanted. After searching for them at three REI stores, REI online and other websites, we found just what he wanted at the best price on Zappos. He bought size 12w, as the 11w was too tight and they didn’t make or didn’t have an 11.5w.

BUT, the footbed is primitive and dated. This shoe does not breathe well, or at all for that matter. If functionality is your focus in a hi8king shoe, this is not a good choice.

My favorite shoe for the outdoors, casual everyday & can be worn to a nice dinner out or event. Wish they would bring back the black ones with tan soles! I have the grey & brown ones but my black pair finally wore out after two years of traveling.

This is my third pair of the Bozemans. First two pairs were great, comfortable and had a fast break in time. However, they didnt hold up, and as much as I loved them they over broke in. It was like the leather was to soft. I decided to try them one more time, and out of the box I could tell immediately that the quality had improved. The shoe feels firmer. Ive worn them for several days and Im feeling like the shoe has improved. We will see but its definitely a good design, comfortable and functional shoe. If you want a basic hiking shoe that will get the job done, or something thats comfortable at work. Also if your a bull in a china shop like me. This shoe will do.

Zappos description is incorrect: this shoe is not waterproof. From the Oboz website: "PFC-free water resistant treated split suede leather." The word waterproof is not present on the Oboz product page. Additionally, the tongue is not sealed/attached to the sides of the shoe and the toe box has vent holes. I have a low volume, high arch and the fit, comfort and arch support are excellent.

A good reliable shoe for all conditions from city sidewalks to rugged trials at Glacier National Park. After almost a year of constant use it shows' very little wear. The shoe fits very tight but it is comfortable with thin socks..

This is a really well made shoe. I'm happy with everything about them including the material used, the sole and suede is high quality . They are lightweight and not too heavy, they didn't need any break in period. I put them on and wore 2 days in a row. I highly recommend this shoe.

I purchased this shoe with high hopes, because I was looking for a water resistant hiking shoe. I love the style. I've worn them for two days straight and they needed zero break in. I love this shoe and highly recommend them.

These are like what shoes used to be with leather portions and real shoestrings to tighten up and tie.

Fit was great right out of the box, however, I typically will stuff a pair of socks down in the toe area of all new shoes to loosen everything up some. The next day super comfortable. Style is great too.
