These are a great pair of durable and sustainable boots. I purchased them because they have the side zipper for easy on/off and they were the exact style I was looking for. Another main reason I purchased these boots is they are sustainable, made with leather from a tannery rated silver for water, energy, and waste management practices and recycled plastic fabric. They also plant a tree for each pair purchased. I thought since the boots were a little stiff it would take time to break in, but I wore them to survey buildings for 8 hours within the first week of having them and my feet were not sore at all the next day. Highly recommend these boots.

I saw reviews about how it's hard to get your foot in. There is some cardboard that isn't easy to see or feel that is used to keep the shoe form, and if you try to put your foot in you will have a difficult time... but it's fine once you find and remove the cardboard.

I love these shoes as soon as I tried them on. They are very stylish and comfortable. I read other reviews mentioning a narrow fit and I was a bit concerned, but I had no problem putting them on at all wearing thick socks, so this is probably different for every person.

The size chart is not accurate I measured my foot before buying and it was way too small not even possible to get your foot in. They have a really poor design. Most boots have a normal lip so you can adjust the width a little bit with the laces to get your foot in but for some reason they sewed in the lip so you can not adjust the width at all and it makes it impossible to get your foot in and I have relatively narrow feet if you have wide feet it will never work. They look really cute but the design is just bad and the size chart is not at all accurate. I would go up one size from what the size chart tells you, especially if you want to wear warm socks. I tried with and without socks did not make a difference

I was a little hesitant seeing some of the reviews thinking they might fit weird. However, for me, they were true to size, very comfortable to wear all day long, and super easy to get on and off your feed (side-zip) works great. I love the look of them too.

These boots were a great buy from Timberland. I am a true 10 when it comes to Timberland boots and these were true to size. I'm not sure why they received such bad reviews, but I can say that if you have wide feet or very large ankles, then these boots will be more fitted and uncomfortable. I will be wearing these a lot during the cold weather.

A lot of people said they are way too tight and at first I agreed but I REALLY wanted them to work so wore them around the house for a couple of hours at a time for a few days with very thick socks. They are now perfect. Don't send them right back. They definitely stretch nicely.

I wanted SO BADLY to have these work for me. Sadly they just are too narrow. I'm average fit, and only "wide" in shoes that run narrow. Unfortunately these just won't work for me, but I'm sure they'd make any girl with narrow feet happy!

I purchased these boots, specifically, because they have a zip closure - so it would be easy on/off. However, the opening of the boot is way too small. Once I got my foot inside they fit fine. The problem is that it is extremely difficult getting in/out...the size of the opening doesn't make sense. I wear a size 7.5 with normal width. This seems to be made incorrectly.

These are some of the best boots I have owned. I've had them for about 5 months and probably 8-10 miles over steep and rocky terrain. I was concerned because of all the reviews stating they are narrow, and they are, but if you undo the side zipper and the laces you can get in and out of them just fine. Once on they fit wonderfully. They are rugged, stick to the ground like velcro, never slip. They also look totally badass, which in my line of work helps a lot. I do recommend extra arch support for those with super high arches or you will get a little soreness toward the end of the day. These are a little too stiff and heavy for hiking- I recommend them as work boots A+++++

The boots run a bit narrow, but I've got a narrow foot, so that's a plus. This was actually a replacement pair for the first boots I got--the thread holding the soles to the boots started pulling loose, and Zappos immediately replaced them. I absolutely love the first pair, so much that I bought another pair in a different color, and I hated to return boots that were so comfortable I hardly took them off until the weather just got too frickin' hot! I really love shopping at Zappos, and their return policy is so simple that I always feel guilty when I use it. If more shoes fit as well as these do, I'd rarely have a reason to return anything. Kudos to Zappos for getting it right.

I learned my lesson with Timberland in January 2016 when I found a pair of dark brown boots that fit perfectly. Plus, every time I wore them, I would get compliments. A few months later, I went back to Zappos to buy another pair in black, and they no longer carried them. I tried Timberland, and they didn't have them either, so I finally found a pair on Amazon and bought them, but I swore that if I found another boot I liked as much, I was going to get more than one pair, and that's why I bought this pair of boots. I have the original pair in a dark green and they're beautiful. Also sturdy and comfortable--I can work in them all day and they're still comfortable. They're a great work boot, but also look really good with my jeans or tights, and I love the lace/zipper combination. I probably won't even start wearing the newest ones until next winter, but I tried them on and they fit beautifully, and the brown leather is really a beautiful shade. I'm still thinking of getting a pair of them in black, but need to think about that, as I still have my black Timberland boots from 2016 and I've kept them polished and not worn them to work in the yard. The 2016 brown ones are so worn out the leather is showing thin spots, but they've been my go to boots for working outside, helping my husband clear out berry vines and fallen trees. I'm really pleased with the first pair and know I'll get a lot of use out of this second pair, though I doubt I'll be out in the berries with them for a while!

I wrote a review on April 21 and said that I was considering removing the gusset beneath the zipper since it was so hard to slip the boots on. After looking more closely at the boots, I realized that the problem didn't require surgery--I have a narrow foot and these boots are cut narrow, which meant I was lacing them too tight (the way I normally would for a boot too wide) and once I loosened the laces, they fit perfectly. I wore them hiking today and they were wonderful--well made and for someone with a narrow foot, a perfect fit. I love the olive green color and the design is really attractive.

These are absolutely perfect boots, except for one fairly major but fixable issue--the gusset beneath the zipper is too narrow and even with my narrow feet and skinny ankles, I cannot get the boots on without unzipping AND loosening the laces. Since the whole idea of the zipper is so that I don't have to lace them (arthritis in my hands--I'm an old broad) I'm going to take a sharp pair of scissors and cut the gusset down to the base of the zipper. That will make them just like my favorite pair of Timberland boots (also zipper and laces) that doesn't have a solid gusset--just a flap under each side of the zipper, which is what I'll have once I slice through it. I'll let you know how it works.

I typically wear a size 9 or 9.5 and tend to size up in boots. Others reported these as being narrow, which can be a problem for me and my bunions. The fit was perfect. The style is super cute and my feet feel protected in a Wisconsin winter without being too hot. This is my first pair of Tims and I am a fan.

Perfect as always expected from my one and only boot store, the only thing about it I wish It had the bulky unisex look as I love bulky military look boot style.

From day 1, I found these to be super comfy and didn't need much breaking in! I chose Timberland because I'm very excited by their sustainability/regenerative initiative. As a career conservationist, it feels good wearing boots that agree with my mission! I bought these in November and have been wearing them every day (writing this in March). I've also worn them to the field a few times and gotten them pretty muddy. I'd say they are true to the promise of being waterproof! The downside, I don't think these boots were built with fieldwork in mind. I'm starting to see some cracking and wear. I think I'm going to buy a second pair that's better for the field, and keep these as my day to day boot.

The boots were slightly larger than expected. I like the quality, but after about 20 minutes of wear, they'd rubbed brown residue on my jeans.
