This boot is warm and the grip on hard snow is excellent. I have also used them with snowshoes and they are easy to fit and are comfortable walking both with and without the snowshoes. The higher ankle is great in snow. Overall, a great boot to wear in a Maine winter.

These boots are simply amazing. Extremely comfortable. Super warm. Don't need thick socks if you don't want. Hug your foot like a glove. Can wear them in snow or to the office.

I wear these boots while hiking in cold weather and generally walking in the snow. It has very good traction in general, and is even a little grippy on ice.
With thick socks, it's warm enough to wear in temperatures down to 10-20 F. I haven't tried colder temps yet.

Fit was great and true to size. I can tell these will be super warm. But I returned them. Why? The Merrell website had a black Friday sale on the Thermo Slush Mid Waterproof, which was equally as comfortable and water proof, but cost $47 compared to these being $120 on zappos. The Thermo Slush Mid Waterproof were not available on zappos when I made this purchase. As far as I can tell, the only benefit these shoes have versus the Thermo Slush Mid Waterproof is these have a vibram sole (which is supposedly better...in some way, I guess?). Not worth paying a $73 premium.

Bought these boots for my winter boot due to snow and ice conditions. Being in Law Enforcement, I am constantly in and out of my patrol vehicle in all sorts of conditions. In the first snow of the year, these boots we're fantastic. No slipping. No worries about walking on dark wet and icy roads. Plus, the comfort level is far superior to almost any other brand. Will be replacing my rocky boots with another pair of Merrells!

Great boots they check all the boxes, from comfort level, too warmth. They also keep your feet nice and dry and they're stylish also just go up a half of size if you like wearing those thick wool winter socks to give yourself extra room I've had mine for 2 years now

Bought the boot last year. Wear it only when it snows. So wore it a max of 10 times.Great boot. But today there was a lot of puddle and while walking through them i found that toes on both feet got damp. Water seeped through from the fromt. Not waterproof fully.

Worked great in a muddy Northern Minnesota spring. Should be plenty warm for winter. Good traction. Super light. Arches were a little high, but I just shaved down the insole and they fit well.

I have been wearing these boots on my job delivering rental skis during record Sierra Nevada snowfall. I have experienced every condition including ice, wet slush, and 4 foot deep powder, Warm, mostly water-proof, and with better grip than most boots. I also appreciate that they are quick and easy to get on and lace up tight. I'm very happy that I bought these boots.

they are a good pair of shoes, but I think the toe box isn't well designed. I could still feel my toes cold. I guess I need a thicker wool shock to go with this. You should buy half size up.

Purchased yesterday, and I am ready for the snow.
It is 5 a.m. I have put on my new boots too gain familiarity with high top feel( I have only worn runners for too many years) lightwieght and cozy comfy these were a great investment!

I've worn these boots for about two months this winter. They keep my feet warm and dry on walks and shovelling. My Merrell Mocs are still in perfect condition after 10 years of use, so I hope to get 10 years out of these boots. They do fit snugly as the other reviews suggest. My only criticism is that the top hook for the laces could use a snap mechanism to lock the laces into place/make them easier to finish lacing - but no big deal - very good boots overall.

Solid, warm comfortable boots. Only concern I have is the second to last lace loop is fabric- wish it was a metal hook like the top lace loop. Not sure if this will wear out over time.

Immediately felt comfortable; lightweight with excellent grip on icy ground. The laces seem too long and require a double bow to avoid them trailing on the ground.

Decent light duty winter boot. Warm enough for active pursuits and around town use without being too clunky. Original footbed not very warm and replaced with heavy wool. Arch support is very pronounced- this may be good or bad depending g on your foot. Waterproofing is crap. Anything g above the rubber and it leaks immediately.

Boots feel and look great, but I was sorely disappointed when I went out during the rain and felt the water creep in through the bottom. I'm going to have to treat them with waterproofing, and I bought them because they were supposed to be waterproof.
