Originally, I bought these to skate in for more ankle support, but they look great to wear around first. I got them in a US 9.0. The sizing compared to Vans: I wear US 9.0 in Half Cab Pros and ERA and 9.5 in Old Skool ComfyCush. And in Nike: SB Janoski 9.0 and SB Dunks and AJ1 Highs 9.5 This high top in canvas (and some suede around the toes) fits like a Cons CT High except in the toe area. The toebox is wider and closer to a Dunk. Didn't notice any pressure points with the upper shape or stitching. The outsole and cushioning are really comfy almost like the Nike React foam, but without the rebound. There's slight arch support, but I would throw in some thin plastic heel arch supports under the PopCush if you need more. As for the weight, it's a bit heavier, but not as much as a Half Cab. And for the grip factor, there's plenty of it (almost a bit too much initially) I would get these again in highs to wear around and/or skate in. But, I might go down to a US 8.5 if I wear thinner socks or without any heel inserts.
