I'm a Clifton disciple - I've been running marathons on them from the Original up to the 5.. I know Hoka One One wouldn't release a shoe like this without carefully designing and testing it, but the Clifton Edge seems to fundamentally disrespect the anatomy of the human foot - most notable how the ankle bone protrudes on the outside of the foot. I've had my foot scanned - I'm a classic size 10, not narrow nor wide. I know how to lace up and adjust for the best fit, so don't blame me for what you're about to read. The "cup" of the shoe that surrounds and cradles the ankle bone (for you med students, it's where the Fibula meets the Talus) is in the wrong spot. Where the ankle bone should be left unexposed, it gets rubbed hard my the shoe. The point of the angle bone sets too far forward, and the shoe ripped at my ankle like a French child would rip at the heel of a baguette. Five miles into my initial run on them, and not only did I know the shoes weren't right, but I also (a week later) still have pain in my ankle where the contact point was. In 20 years of distance running, I've never had a shoe tear me up like this. Maybe next time. For now, I'm just beating the heck out of my Rincons...

At 93 kilos over 6 feet in height and a heel Striker this is the best shoe I've ever worn I'm going to get me another pair. The shoe definitely helps those that land on their heels first thank you Hoka for making it.

Recently I was diagnosed with a few foot issues (metatarsalgia and plantar fasciitis) and my foot doctor highly recommended the Hoka Cliftons. After seeing both the Clifton and the Clifton Edge I decided to go with the edge because of the extra padding. Literally I dreaded having to work at my police department every day because of the standing and public interaction due to foot pain. Besides the Clifton Edge I purchased the Challenger Mid boots for duty. I can not even describe how much my feet have done a 180 change for the better. I highly recommend these shoes and boots for anyone with foot pain, active in cardio or just on their feet everyday. The response and cushioning is better than any other shoe on the market and I'm now a hoka owner for life

This is my first pair of Hoka One One shoes, and they have proven up to the hype, even for a novice runner like me. They feel great, provide excellent stability and cushioning, and are probably the most comfortable running shoes I have ever worn. The long back heel doesn't do my size 15 feet any favors in the aesthetics department, but that is a minor quibble. Definitely worth your money to try these out.

I have been running in the Clifton series for years and have been pleased with most models, some better than others. These are great and have that responsiveness the Cliftons lack. While I do not think these are for everyone, I think most people will enjoy these. I'm 24, run 40+ miles a week right now @ 9-6 min per mile depending on the day. I have run on gravel/dirt fire roads and pavement and they do phenomenal on both. I worry how long they will last, but so far so good! They look quite strange at first but you forget the large heel addition after a while.

i wear my Edge for road running.. fit and feel is awesome!! did10miles test run with them and kinda shocked to see how its sole handled the pavements, mostly cements and asphalts.. im not a heel striker but a midfoot striker with a li'l pronations... after my first 10miles with my Edge, its sole pretty much shows abrasion.. SOLE IS TOO SOFT!

If you are like I, and looking for a solid shoe, inside and out. Hoka is where it's at. 3 pairs for myself. 3 pairs for my wife. We will never buy another Nike ever again. Hands down the best quality shoe ever purchased.

Honestly one of the best shoes I've ever used for 4-5 mile runs. Very stable. Very comfortable. Perfect mix of cushion and spring. However after running ~15-20 miles on sidewalk/roads the bottom of the shoe is already starting wear. I want to get at least 300 miles out of these especially with cost. Worried they might not last.

The straps inside that are attached to the tongue are to tight and make my feet cramp. Used twice with same problem. will have to get a different pair.

I have had over 6 pair of Hoka One One's and never had a problem with the shoes fitting properly. They just don't feel the same as my other ones and and thus returning them.

I have been a die hard Brooks fan for years and I run about 25-40 miles a week. The Clifton Edge was my first purchase of any Hoka shoe. I was excited about this shoe as i'm in the market for a more cushioned landing. The color schemes of most Hoka's are a turn off to my taste, but I was attracted to the awesome colors of this particular shoe (white, orange, pink and light blue) and intrigued by the larger and wider heel. Unfortunately, I am more than disappointed with the fit of the Clifton Edge. I have never worn a wide in any shoe, but when I tried on these shoes they were way too narrow and tight. I couldn't believe it. I called customer service and they were really friendly, but there was no option for a wide in this shoe. The foot bed feels too narrow inside the shoe. I will be returning these shoes and am reluctant to try any other style.

Back into running again I grabbed a pair of Clifton edge and was blown away! These things are the bomb. I really hope Hoka makes more since my size is sold out in every color.
