This parka is very beautiful and it looks great on the body. It's not like the other parkas that make us look very big. It's so warm and the size was perfect for me. I'm 5' 4'' and 128lbs and got a size S. The hood is also very pretty. I researched a lot before buying and had a very hard time finding a quality parka that also looked good... really glad I found one! It is also much nicer than how it looks in the picture :)

Some specs: 5'3" Bostonian who shops a lot at the Gap and generally wears a 4/6 in pants and dresses, or S/sometimes M in shirts and sweaters. When ordering jackets I always consider going up a size because of layering clothes underneath, but went with the small due to length, since I'm on the shorter side. It fits so perfectly and is so, so warm. We have just had our first burst of winter in New England and I have so appreciated the fluff and warmth this jack provides. The mittens are great, too. When initially researching this coat I thought I read a review that said you couldn't take the fur hood off, but you can actually zip the fur lining off and the hood remains on the jacket. The fur was a lot for me, so that was handy. It reaches in the back to about the back of my knees, and just above my knees in the front. When I sit down it feels like I'm sitting on a pillow. The dual zipper is handy so that your legs aren't trapped as you try and walk. I love all of the pockets. In addition to being functional, it also looks really cute and not so bulky as some other jackets tend to do. Would highly recommend.

Walking around downtown Chicago in 30F weather, the zipper finally gave out on my 15 yr old puffy down coat. So I made my way to the NF store and bit the bullet to drop this kind of cash on a coat. I couldn't be happier! With a howling wind, the hood and fur lining blocked it ALL. I was amazed. It got so warm walking around outside that I ended up unzipping the coat to stay cool! This coat is going to be awesome for cold Chicago winters. Well worth the money. I love the deep hood and extra sleeve mitten details. So clever! I'm 5'11", size 10/12 and I bought an XL. The large fit ok, but it would have been tight with a bulky sweater on underneath, so I opted for a little extra room.

I have had this parka for a year and I can confidently say that I am very disappointed in this purchase. I wear dark colors all year long and it was so disheartening and frustrating having to constantly remove the tiny feathers coming out of the cheap lining. It came to the point that I had to carry lint remover sheets in my purse and office desk and spend 15 minutes or more removing EVERY SINGLE ONE (please see image of my wool base layer after spending a cold, NZ winter day in this parka). It's embarrassing to do so, and even more so when taking off said parka and people noticing said feathers flying around. A clothing item this expensive should not be such a hassle to deal with. I'm going to give this away and get my outerwear from another brand.

I really love this coat for its features. The parka does an amazing job at protecting you from very cold days. I no longer layer up or bring my scarf as often as I would with my other coats. The HyVent design protects your neck very nicely. My ONLY PROBLEM with the coat is, it is not designed for curvy women. I'm a Size Small with thicker thighs and this Parka bulks up once I start walking and coat bulges around the upper pocket area. For me, I have to unzip the bottom at all times, which takes away from protecting my lower body from the cold coming in.

I purchased this coat for warmth and to have another coat that was longer than waist length but not too long and it's perfect!

This is the first North Face jacket I have purchased and I am thrilled to have such a quality product. I am excited to have this beautiful jacket keeping me warm on my upcoming travel plans. I love the colors, slim fit, and gorgeous hood!

This is my first time in NY, and I had to survive for the winter. After a long benchmark and asking advises around, this North Face Jacket was the most valuable choice! I am so glad to have bought it! I am wearing a size S and it fits perfectly, I highly recommend this model if you are afraid as much as me of the winter. The BIG PLUS of this jacket is that you can hide your hands from breeze (I discovered that after 2 weeks haha)

This coat is so great! It arrived right on time even though I had to return the small size I got for a medium. It is THE warmest coat I have ever owned and has great insulation. This coat will absolutely keep me warm when I spend hours outdoors in freezing temperatures. The material is thick and sturdy. Additionally the fuzzy hood provides an extra layer of warmth and will protect my face from snow. I would highly recommend this coat to anyone who is in need of a new winter coat to keep them warm. I would purchase it again and recommend it to anyone with ZERO hesitation.

It my winter coat, that I love so very much. Not going outside without it!

I bought this item jacket because my son plays outside sport. My jacket prior wasn't the best but this one is AMAZING. through all the wind, rain, snow it has kept me warm. Since then I have purchased all three of my boys similar jackets. I stand by this Company with their products honestly I don't buy anything other products for my family when it comes to jackets.

I'm so excited to wear this jacket this winter! I live in Minnesota, so it's going to get pretty cold and windy. I have woren it a few times so far, when it was windy and had I walk the dog in the morning and I felt so cozy!!

I got it as a Christmas present, I live in Montana, and I never take it off! It's great in 40 degree weather or -20 degrees. Incredibly comfortable, and I love how there are fleece wrist warmers that extend beyond the sleeve of the coat. The only drawback is that I cannot keep the parka hood on when I drive, as my neck movements are restricted. But that's a pretty minute problem. ( I just wear a hat underneath, which I do anyway)

Great quality but I ordered an XS (which I have ordered from North Face before) and the jacket was too long - both the overall length and the sleeves. I realize it is supposed to be oversized but it was too much on my 5'3" frame so I returned for a different style.

Super warm and my Boston go to! Not as waist fitting as the artic parka, but definitely warmer! Love the straps too! The red color is absolutely to die for

I hate being cold. It was time to buy a new coat so I researched every major coat brand. Not sure I can mention them here so I will say one starts with a "P" another starts with an "M" and there was also a brand I never heard of that is from Scandinavia that starts with an "F". I tried them all on - I went outside with them to see which was warmer - which was too bulky etc. After a legit month of trying the different options. This was my favorite. It is heavy, but I can still move. Its easy to sit and drive in. It's not as light as a puffer - but I keep hearing those are not as wind proof. I love the inside straps so I can just wear it like a backpack if I am in a store and start to get uncomfortable. It was exhausting looking though all the different brand options, but I have to say it ended up making me more confident that I picked the right one. Tip: If you're looking for a warm coat make sure the wrists at least allow for you to tighten the opening or have thin holes like this one does. Otherwise the wind goes right up and it's a total waste. I hope I save you some time.

This coat is both warm and flattering. It's minus zero here this week and it keeps me really warm!! I love the look of the pockets on it and the faux fur on the hood is really good quality. I wear a size medium 8-10 typically and the medium fit me well, zips and snaps nicely, but if you wear thicker sweatshirts and sweaters you may want to go up a size.

I purchased this and the arctic parka. I returned this one. The sizing runs big - I purchased a large (I normally size up in winter coats to accommodate bulky sweaters and I was swimming in this). This coat is really really warm. I returned it because I don't live in a cold enough area. It's suited to a Buffalo NY type winter, not a NYC winter. It would be great for a colder climate. -0.5 for the interior straps which seemed to be in the way but are easily removable.

LOVE! I was worried it wouldn't look very feminine because it doesn't have a cinched waist, but I think the cut is actually fairly flattering. I love the texture, the weight, the warmth, the color, and most of all the pockets! Wish there was an inside chest zip pocket, but really content with the sleeve/wrist pocket. The length is perfect for sitting, but not TOO long that it feels like you're wearing a sleeping bag. I sort of laughed at the backpack straps - was sure I'd never use them. I ended up using them all the time! They're actually genius and incredibly convenient.

My mother and I have the same parka. We love them. It's not bulky, good fit, comfortable, waterproof, and good quality. The hoodie could improve by being bigger and adjustable.

initially I purchased the wrong size. Zappos made the exchange so easy and simple. I got the new coat within a couple of days, the fit is perfect, the price was great, and the quality is exceptional. I am very happy with my coat!
