I'm on my second pair, and may buy a load more just in case they ever get discontinued. I have done a number of ultras with them, they are light, fast, quick draining and oh so comfortable. I even wore them to run the TMB (180km, 11000m elevation) over 4 days completely self-supported and didn't have a single blister, twisted ankle or other issue.

I'm on my second pair. I use mostly for back country backpacking/fast packing mostly alpine and they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've used. The treads do wear faster then I'd like and different colors would be nice, but I guess I can't have everything.

I'm now onto my third pair of Ultra 3s and that's a reflection both of how much use I get from them and how much I love them. While I'm doing less trail running these days and more urban adventuring, Ultra 3s are just the most comfortable and functional shoes on the market. The sizing and fit are perfect for my feet. I look forward to putting them on and getting on the road!

Love the S/Lab Ultra 3, spent 6 months going through and trying different shoes, finally found this one. I now have 4 extra pairs and am rotating 3. My feet are a little narrow, but they never get sore in these, fits snug but not tight, never have hot spots.

I bought these to train and run an ultra. I've worn them for a couple runs and they fit well and were usable out of the box. They are a bit tough to get on but, worth the effort as they really feel good.

Was looking for a shoe to replace my sense Pro 3's. A comfortable shoe right out of the box. Great fit, found my true to size 9 a bit big so went down a size. It is a bit difficult to put on at first but good to go after that!

These shoes are my all time favorites. I have tried many brands and many models and none compare like these. They are so light it is almost like you don't have a shoe on and yet they still seem to have structure and amazing grip. Good on technical trails but also very comfortable for packed gravel or less technical paths.

These held up really well to a mountainous sky race (scree, slab, roots, a section literally names the shoe shredder). Feet were comfy the whole way. No foot pain the day after. Great grip and confidence on all surfaces from rock to mud. Good colour! They are maybe a little tight at the metatarsal heads compared to some other models but ok for me once worn in. I did also get some small rocks in my shoes, but in terms of performance and durability so far these are great!

On my 8th pair and I have used them for 100k, 100 miles, and 250! I would not use any other trail shoe at this point.

I've tried a ton of other shoes and keep coming back to the s/lab ultras - but I can't figure out why Salomon doesn't offer this shoe with a wider toe box. 5 star shoe could be 6. Wore this particular pair straight out of the box for a 50k, no problems whatsoever.

My favorite shoe I've tried yet for technical trails! Protects well without giving up any ground feel. Always my go to shoe for shorter , faster trail runs or races! Narrower in the toe box than I usually prefer, and yet somehow they've never given me any blisters, even when I wore them for a 60k race distance. Good durability. Only drawback for me is that I don't like the placement of the lace pocket, but it's a pretty minor gripe. Overall, a fantastic shoe for fast but technical trails at almost any distance (I might prefer something a bit more cushioned for the longer ultra distances)!

This is my first shoe from Salomon, former Nike runner. I've been using this shoe for about 100 miles at this point through technical trails. I love how secure the heel remains on aggressive drops. The lacing and tongue system is really smooth and your foot feels really locked down. The shoe feels lightweight and responsive and great on most surfaces. The only surface I found this shoe painful on is the traditional road. Otherwise, this feels great on dirt and navigating rocky hills.

These just arrived but feel great so far. The materials are excellent - and I dig the colors. I can't speak to durability yet but I've had good experiences with most Salomon footwear.

They're still quite new for me so I can't speak to durability yet, but in every other aspect these shoes are the ultimate.

I wear this shoe for runs on mountain trails and absolutely love them. Very responsive and not sloppy in the technical areas. It is easy to run a little faster in these so I swap them out for ultra glides for slower pace training. They have a little extra room in the toe box which is great.

Amazing shoes that are incredibly comfortable over long distances. The only thing I would change is moving the lace pocket slightly up as it is a bit hard to get the laces in sometimes.

Great snug fit! Quicklaces work like a dream, are definitely preferable for someone with feet overly sensitive to lace tightness. Shoes feel secure and had no sensation of being sucked off when I immediately ran with them in the deep spring mud. Only complaint is the overall length seems a smidge oversize (quarter-size too long?)

Triple Crown hiker and serious trail runner here. Have used many different brands and models of trail runners for almost three decades now, and these are the absolute best I've ever used in that time. They are perfect for my slightly narrow feet, and have me feeling very confident on every trail surface there is. They are very minimalist and don't provide much cushioning, but the precise fit prevents that from being a problem. The previous Ultras were also great, but this one takes the cake. Am on my third pair now, and I'm ordering the Ultra 3 Limited Editions soon to replace my current ones. I have consistently run/hiked over 500 miles on all of my Ultras so far, so durability is good.

First run with these was 40km,1500m ascent on Brecon Beacons. Comfort was great as was durability and performance. Would love them to be slightly cheaper.

I'm loving this shoe! Just the right combination of cushion and breathability, without any extra weight. It's currently my "go to" shoes for long and short races.

The perfect balance between stability and absorption. I love the gaiter. And this version is more durable than the previous Ultra 2

Easily the best pair of trail shoes I've ever owned. Fit my feet like a glove. Happy to wear them on any and all trail runs. The only minor cons I can think of is that they easily stink and maybe they're not my favorite color combo, but I can live with that!
