These shoes made my John Muir Trail thru-hike excruciating. I got them for the 9mm rise because Altra Lone Peaks (0 drop) inflamed my achilles and La Sportivas (12mm) gave me shin splints. By all appearances - several shake down hikes with a heavy pack and I got a 1/2 size larger as I always do for hiking and running shoes - these were going to work. But on steep JMT descents, because of the tapered shape of the toe box, my toes jammed into the front causing severe pain and numbness which I still have a week later since finishing my hike. I was miserable. Cascadias also made me pronate and the fabric over both bunions was torn by the end (230 miles). I've been wearing Brooks Ghosts for running going on 10 years, so I really thought Cascadias would be good but they were AWFUL.

Disappointed, especially for the price point and the quiz getting me to this shoe. It was like putting on a flat cardboard shoe. Absolutely no cushion whatsoever.

Horrible experience with these shoes - let in tons of dirt, cushion wore flat in mere months with minimal use and became very uncomfortable, and my knees and hips would hurt after using them. Also, Brooks does NOT publish negative reviews on their website which should really make you concerned with the quality/transparency.

I had such high hopes for these because they felt GREAT when I first tried them on. However, after only 2 months of use (2x per week, 3 - 4 miles on designated and flat trail), the cushion has worn completely thin and it feels like I cement bricks strapped to my feet when I trail run in them, not springy at all. I can feel every rock in the front area of the shoe and that area of my foot is actually sore after taking the shoe off from it. My knees and hips hurt after running in these. Lastly, these let in so much dirt/debris, which is a really odd problem I have never had with a trail shoe, but I can see a few other reviews indicating the same issue. If you are doing anything besides walking very short distances, these shoes are a no go for trails, and I have tried many. For the price, I expected these to last longer than a few months with low mileage and easy trails.

I only wore the shoe once and it was the WORST experience I've every had with a running shoe. The shoe rubbed a blister on my left chin!
I will NEVER, NEVER, and NEVER purchase another Brooks running shoe.
Sincerely,
Disappointed and Dissatisfied Customer
