I was long overdue for a new pair of running shoes, as I hadn't upgraded since my Gel-Neo 33's. I had been very happy with the Gel-Neo's, so I was worried about finding a comparable model without being able to try them on first in store. However, I was so impressed with the new Gel-Cumulus. First of all, they needed no break in period and were amazing right out of the box. Second, they are significantly lighter than my old shoes, but they offer just as much if not better support. Lastly, I have a very instep, and I find the heel toe transition to be so smooth and seamless. Overall, I would highly recommend these shoes, particularly to those of you who have high arches.

Depending on what color you purchase, the shoe is different. Not all of the Cumulus 22s are the same. The Black/White and the Breeze/Black get five stars all around. The tongue is padded, but not excessively; the forefoot is roomy; the laces aren't too short; and they provide a sleek, comfortable fit that is true to size. What I don't care for is the color. Peach is not my favorite and unfortunately the only Cumulus 22s that have the fit I described have a lot of peach. All of the other colors provide a terrible fit. If you zoom in, you can see that the first two colors have 5 rectangular eyes for lacing, the others have 6 round eyes with a plastic ring around each; the first have a longer, flatter tongue, the others have a shorter, thick tongue; the upper materials are also different. These differences change the fit of the shoe and make the other colors feel shorter, narrower, and very tight across the instep. Five stars to the colors mentioned by name for being a great fit that is comfortable out of the box; true to my normal running shoe size; cushioned; supportive; soft, and breathable. One star for the other colors: they are bulky, tight, the laces are too short, and they are hot due to all the excessive padding on the tongue and ankle. I hope Asics will make more colors in the first style. It's a mystery to me why the fit and style is so drastically different on the same version of this shoe. Five stars for the colors mentioned by name, one star for the rest.

I was not super impressed with these shoes. They aren't very comfortable. I just started training for my first half marathon and the first time I wore these shoes my knee started to bother me. I find different parts of my feet hurting after runs as well. Everyone's feet are different, but these just weren't a good fit for me. I was much more comfortable in my Brooks.

Shoes are durable and provide perfect comfort all day long.

This model seems to be wider and more roomy in the toe box area which I really like. It was very comfortable the first time I put it on and has good cushioning when I run in it.
