A full centimeter narrower than the Clifton 6! Completely unusable - numb toes after a 5 mile run. This is my third pair of Cliftons and the v6 2E is perfect. In the past year I’ve run a marathon, two long course triathlons, and hundreds upon hundreds of miles in Clifton 6 2E. The soles of the 7 are the same pattern so you can compare with the old 6es. Seriously almost a cm difference on the sole alone. The toe box is also cramped as hell. Don’t get these thinking they will replace your Clifton 6 Wide. They won’t.

I've been trying to find a light shoe that alleviates my supination yet provides comfortability in my midfoot to forefoot strike for daily long distances. Firstly, I went with a 1080v10 thinking that a wide, plush outsole with a high stack height would do this -- nope. It definitely was plush, but there was almost no responsiveness and very little stability. My ankles, tibialis and hipflexors took a beating after 5k. Consequently, I dropped them and went for a cushioned "balanced" stability shoe. I went on to pick up the Brooks Transcend 7's. This time it felt like it sacrificed mid- to forefoot comfort for high stability. It looked cushioned, but was extremely back-loaded in the heel and the mid- to forefoot was extremely stiff with no response, causing tightness in my calf and shins. It felt like it forced you to heel-strike while over-compensating your pronation. Thereafter, I dropped them and decided to give Hoka a shot. I saw these were just released and the Clifton series had a good rep. I took them out for an easy mile and subsequent 5k, I was surprised how well-balanced these shoes were. I thought the stack height and meta-rocker would cause supportive issues -- I was wrong. No area's were compromised when running in these. They have such a plush, yet responsive and supportive feel to them. These things are like gliding on butter. I'd highly recommend these for a daily trainer.

The cushioning provided great comfort but sizing is not true to size. I usually wear New Balance 11 EE width and found the wide width going up a half size was still too narrow on the Clifton 7. Had to return.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance, Brooks for wide width

Just got them and went for a short 3k on the street, 100% recommend all around great shoes, light way, It's perfect how it wraps the foot and the arch support is great. Feels like I have my feet wrapped around marshmallows and I'm running on a trampoline. That's what they feel like I'm just saying is incredible...

I bought these because of my previous experience with the brand and because they were available in black. I used them to replace my dress shoes, I am a manufacturing engineer so all that walking around the factory all day wears on your feet. I felt instantly better the first day I wore them.

I have been suffering from ball of foot pain which normally starts around mile 7 and stays till the finish line in half marathons. I knew the pain was caused by the shoe. So, I kept testing most of the recommended running shoes: Brooks, Saucony, Asics, Altra, Sketchers, Adidas, Nike, and Hoka one one. I got the pain with all of them with varying severeness. It was very frustrating for me as I always wanted to finish strong but the pain in the ball of foot just held me back. When I tested Hoka Rincon, almost 90 of the pain was gone. Then, I decided to get Hoka Clifton 7 which was the closest to Rincon (light and cushioned). I ran the full marathon in it. I finished with ZERO ball of foot pain. I couldn't believe it. So, I ran another half marathon in it. I still had ZERO pain in the ball of foot. So, I just ordered another pair for backup. This will be my go to shoe from now on. I decided to write this so other runners may find it helpful. It's just a matter of finding the write shoe. Clifton 7 was a winner for me (size 12 Wide)

I've been using Bondi (6/7) and love them, but they are a bit bulky for combined use (running/ walking and casual). My wife loves the Cliftons so I wanted to try them. A bit "firmer" than Bondi. And finally they come in white (as in Europe).

First I should tell you I was an early adopter of Hokas, back when only 2 stores in the country carried them. At least 15 pairs later I have some thoughts on this upgrade. For some reason the fit is different. I wear a half size smaller in this particular shoe, and the width has definitely decreased. The cushioning is the same which I love, and the feel is overall good. Other than the fit changes this Hoka still has all the best attributes of the brand. If you are looking for excellent cushioning, but do not have an extra wide foot this may be for you.

This is probably one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I have been buying Brooks GTS for ever and for now this one has taken its place. 6’2” 270lbs... we will see how it holds up.

Can't believe I am saying this because I have never bought a pair of shoes that cost this much but they are worth it. With my previous shoes I was beginning to have Achilles and calf issues while running. These shoes have cured my issues. They feel absolutely fantastic on my feet while running. As I am getting older 40+ comfort in shoes have been my number 1 concern. These are comfortable and perform very well.

I had recently purchased my first pair of Hoka shoes (another model), a few months before I bought the Clifton 7s. I foolishly decided that I would order a standard size, as wide was not available in the style I had selected. The shoe was very comfortable, but I certainly did feel my feet letting me know they needed a wide, from time-to-time. Otherwise, I was very satisfied with the shoe's performance. Enter the Clifton 7.
I was able to order the Clifton 7 in a 10 wide; my typical shoe size. These not only fit like a dream, but I feel like the shoes have also been designed to improve my posture. I stand more upright with these shoes and can feel my leg and calf muscles more actively participating in my balance and posture. LOVE THEM! I feel like I am walking on a cloud. My feet aren't tired after a day of running errands.
They are full of cushion and very stylish. I don't think I will ever go back to a "regular" tennis shoe or buy another brand, again! I am looking to be more active and these shoes will definitely make any type of exercise much more enjoyable. I know it sounds exaggerated, but I truly feel like I am full of energy when I wear these shoes! I am not a gym person or a hiker, but I cannot wait to exercise and hike with these shoes.

Have only gone about 10 miles in these so far but man are they soft. Definitely a long run shoe that makes your feet feel like you're on a cloud. Not a race day shoe, although not totally unresponsive but for the days where you're pushing your distance or need to recover and relax on the run this is your shoe. Great buy, would buy again barring they don't wear out quick.

1st pair of Hoka's for me. Love them. Feels like walking on clouds. Last 2 pair of Asics I sent back to shoes.com, no heel cushion fit tight. I'm sold on these. Will be a Hoka customer for life.

The fit of the shoes was perfect. I have been having problems with other shoes related to plantar fasciitis. The relief of wearing the shoes was immediate. My toes and ball of my foot completely relaxed. The heel support is also good.

I am on my fifth pair of Cliftons. I've worn out two of the discontinued Outdoor Voices model, bought one a half size too small and wore those out and then ordered two more pairs of the discontinued sevens.
I have had a fully fused ankle for close to 40 years and need a shoe that provides stability, cushion and does not result in blisters. I routinely walk between 25 and 35 miles a week and these shoes help make that possible.

I purchased both the Clifton 7 and the Bondi 7. After spending hundreds of dollars on high end Nike running shoes, I had to make the switch to Hoka. I posted a question to my companies private Facebook page asking which shoes I should buy for my plantar fasciitis and working on concrete floors and Hoka's were the #1 recommended shoes by a large margin.
I've now owned my Hoka's for about 3 weeks and have noticed a dramatic difference in how my feet feel at the end of the day. The Clifton's are bit firmer / more supportive than the Bondi's.
I switch between the two styles every other day so I'm not wearing the same shoes two days in a row. I'm now looking at order another pair of each style!
The sizing is great as well. I wear a 12 in Nikes and both styles of Hoka's fit perfectly. I normally could only wear certain styles of Nike's that had a slightly wider toebox, but both Hoka styles fit well and offered enough room.
I've only owned them for a few weeks, so I can't say how well they will hold up over a longer period, but so far they are great!
