I love the color and fit of these shoes, however, I had to return them. I noticed very little arch support, if any. Having had some foot problems in the past, I am aware of arch support. Sad to return?

The Moroccan blue is so nice but these shoes have massive soles. I mean they are like astronaut shoes. And I already own a couple pairs of Hoka's. So it's not just that I'm not used to them. I would have felt silly wearing these in public. I am surprised I didn't see anyone else mention this on the other reviews. I hope they make another style in this color. But these were not for me.

I am a loyal customer of Hoka and love the ATR Stinson. The last order I received of this shoe was NOT up to the usual high Hoka standards. Initially the shoes had a "chemical" smell which I attributed to a dye in the shoe. I aired them out for a week, and that odor became a musty smell. Perhaps they were in a warehouse with a musty smell. I have been debating about whether or not to keep these shoes as they appear to be OK otherwise. I have finally decided to reluctantly return them, because I am now smelling the odor in my closet.

I've had 3 or 4 pairs of Stinson over the last 5 years. It's the SKU that corrects my pronation best. But the pair I just received fit differently. The pronation correction isn't as good -- one foot feels noticeably rotated in. And no matter how tightly I pull the laces, it feels like my foot is slipping out of the shoe (and my sock slips down toward the toe). Very disappointing.

this felt like running with foam pillows duct taped to my feet. At first I thought that was a good thing, but it quickly became annoyingly squishy. The cushiness allows you to pronate too much, not enough stability.

Length was perfect, toe box just roomy enough, but too wide in mid foot even when laced very tightly.

I really wanted to like these for short runs. They were comfortable for standing around and walking, and the heel/toe drop was not bad. I was hoping that the drop meant more forward momentum while running. It did to some extent, but when I hit the toe/ball of my foot, it felt like I was going to get a stress fracture. (I am not saying that I would have, just that it felt that way.) The cushioning was not bad. If the price was below $120, maybe I would have kept them for trail hiking because there was some decent traction. IMHO, the style was middle of the road for Hokas. They weren't as clunky as the Bondi, but not as nice as the Torrent, Clifton, Speedgoat et al. I ended up finding a sale on On Cloud shoes in men's and settled on those for everyday runs and walks. If Hoka brings back Torrent in it's first form, I shall go back to that.

I work on concrete every day and walk at least 5 miles daily. I was hoping that these shoes would provide the cushioning I need. They're ok, but I don't think I'd buy them again.

I was looking for the wide toe box (got it) and a stiff sole (got it), but I really don't want this much "cush" when I walk. I feel as though I'm walking on marshmallows, which makes my legs really work hard. That's not a bad thing, if it were just muscles, but it's hurting my knee. I want a firmer strike on the ground. I did hike 6 miles in them on rocky terrain and didn't feel one rock. I was worried I would turn my ankle in them but didn't have a problem with that. I'd say they are more comfortable on the train than in the neighborhood on the blacktop.

These shoes are so bulky, they make my women's size 6 foot look tremendous. I couldn't tell by the pics posted on the web, but I am going to return them.

I was so excited to try these shoes. I have had some foot issues - sprained ankles, high arches, roll outs, plus sore hips and lower back pain. My running friends have sworn buy Hoka so I thought I would give them a try. I chose this specific shoe after I filled in the form to find my perfect shoe. I mostly speed walk/hike (20-30 miles a week). So far, I am no impressed. I have narrow, boney feet. These feel like I have way too much room in the foot bed, but yet I have pressure points on the top of my feet, the sides and the the inner heel. I feel like I am walking on golf balls at my arch/heel. They are also so big in the heel/sole that I am stepping on them with the opposite foot. - I feel like I am wearing clown shoes. I know they take a bit to get used to. I am hoping that they break in and begin to feel like they are supporting my feet. I hiked 4 miles today and all I could do was think about my feet, the pressure points and how excited I was to get them off. I really want to love these shoes...but 3 weeks in and I am about to give up and try another brand.

I so wanted to love these shoes because I love my Kaha 2 mid GTX shoes and wanted the low GTX version as a backup. But I was surprised that the low version was not nearly as cushioned and comfortable as the mid version. I can't understand why. The description states that they are structured the same. I tried them for two weeks, on a variety of terrain, and my feet and legs hurt and became fatigued after more than 4 miles. I would end the day exhausted. With the mid shoe, I have lots of energy left at the end of the day. Maybe my feet need more cushioning at age 56. So, I am looking for a second shoe for a long walking trip (15 miles/day), but this is not the one. I'm not sure what Hoka shoe to choose at this point. The Mafate? The Arahi? The Stinson? The Challenger is not cushioned enough for long walks and doesn't have the best traction for trails. The Kaha 2 mid has been great, though, and I hope they will carry me through the two-week trek.

I have been a lover of the Bondi 7, they have been the only shoe that have given me relief from plantar fasciitis. Since reviews for the Bondi8 seemed mixed and not as good I tried this one instead. Putting them on felt great. But taking a few steps across the room immediately revealed the inner arch seem placement as way to narrow. I have not ordered wires from Hoka before, but would definitely have to if I wanted to try this shoe again. I understand each model is different. But there should be some footbed width consistency, at least within the brand.

I have loved my Stinson ATR 5 shoes in women's size 8. They were super comfortable right out of the box and I have used them for hiking and walking for more than a year. Now they have developed a tear in the fabric inside the shoe at the back of my heel. I ordered a new pair in version 6 that are not wearable because they are much too narrow in the toe box. I ordered a men's size 7 thinking it might be wider, but it, too, is too narrow (plus it is too wide in the heel). My old shoes still fit fine, so I don't think my foot has changed. Please HOKA designers, give those of us with bunions or wide feet some wide toe box shoes that will allow us to keep doing the activities we love. And please offer women bright and dark color options like the mens options. Who wants white, peach or seafoam geen that will be dirty after the first hike or trail run?

Very thin insole, just 1mm. Feel the sole pattern. The hill area sank in in about 2 weeks. Hills are in pain. Very bad.

I LOVE Hokas--I have run in the Clifton 8 and now am a dedicated Kawana user. True game-changers for my hips, knees, ankles, and issues with plantar fasciitis. However I was not a fan of these Stinsons. I did not run in them, but when trying them on, they were just WAY too stiff. And they are simply a LOT of shoe--very bulky. I don't think I would be able to actually run in them much less be nimble on a trail. So sadly, I returned them.

I really liked this pair of sneakers and bought it for my run/walks around end of Feb 2022. However, five months down the line in July 2022, the left shoe's breathable material in the front has started to tear out at the joint on the top right corner and the right pair of the shoe is showing similar signs of strain and wear on the top left joint in the front. This is an extremely expensive pair to last only 5 months or so I am very disappointed with the poor quality if this sneaker and strongly caution against buying it. I am a long time Hoka wearer and my Bondi 7 is still going strong after 2 years of heavy use.. but I noticed that the materials of Bondi 7 is very different from this breathable cloth type material that constitutes a large part of the front face of this sneaker. I hope Hoka looks into this issue and resolves it for a better customer experience.

I wanted a shoe for being on my feet and lessening knee pain. These sneakers make my feet look huge, they feel big, they have grippy soles which I don't care for. If I hadn't thrown the box away I would return them.

This shoe was heavy and clunky. The fit was too large for my size foot (8B) And the toe box too wide. When I walked with the shoes on, it felt like I was walking in hard rubber.

I tried and fell in love with my first pair of Stinson's many years ago. I was lucky to nab 3 pairthey were PERFECT for my 12 plus hour days on my feet. I have since tried many many other Hoka sneakers~Both 'updated' Stinsons and other styles hoping to find equally comfortable ones. I have also tried everything out there on the market for advertised comfortable foot wear. Sadly all to no avail. If only they hadn't changed themnot to mention the cost. I have several pair collecting dust that I didn't return hoping they would suffice well enough. Not enough options for folks with narrow, somewhat flat footed feet like myself. Pray one of these days I will get lucky again. I really did want to like these latest versions of the Stinson.
