I fell in love with the 6 before the pandemic. But all of the good colors were taken. I tried them on again at Fleet Feet as soon as stores opened and eagerly anticipated the 7 for the sake of some color. I called Hoka One One personally to make sure the tongue of the 7 would not be attached since my knowledgeable salesman read an article that there would be a stitch attaching the tongue. I was told that the tongue was still detached. Unfortunately, the tongue is not only attached, it is attached with a web like elasticized mesh fabric that goes from the tongue to underneath the midsole. This was popping my orthotic up and pushing my foot into the eyelit which caused a lot of pinching and pain in the top left part of my ankle. So I am really disappointed. These are not good for my medical grade orthotic. People with special foot problems usually invest in high end running shoes with cushion and support. I'm not sure why Hoka One One made this decision with the 7 knowing that it might affect an orthotic. If the tongue was attached with a stitch instead of a sling, it might not have interfered with the orthotic. However, it is a fail. So New Balance More 2 will be my new shoe, but the colors are not as nice as Hoka One One.

I'm a fan of the Cliftons and wore version 5 and 6. The 7 has an attached tongue which I find very uncomfortable. No matter how I adjust the laces, the shoe feels too tight because the tongue is pressing down on the top of my foot. I need a deep toe box with plenty of room because I wear orthotics and also have neuropathy. That's the only reason I wear these shoes, because I think they're ugly and huge looking on my skinny feet/legs. Not sure what I'll do now. If I keep them I'm going to have to cut the mesh sling in four spots to release the tongue. I also wish the tongue was a little more padded.

You don't have to be a runner to benefit from these awesome shoes! I am in my late 50's and have Morton's Neuroma in my right foot which was making it very hard to walk. My Podiatrist told me to get some better shoes. I went to a local store and was introduced to my first pair of Hoka Cliftons. WHAT A DIFFERENCE these shoes have made! They are comfortable, have great support, look great and best of all, gave me back the freedom to walk and stand on my feet for extended periods! I just bought 2 more pair Rose (to wear while working in the yard) and White.(a little more dressy). Would recommend to anyone looking for comfort and support!

These shoes are wonderful, Arch support is good, they’re very light to run in. The size is about half a size bigger which gives my toes enough room to breathe and relax. I really love these. Went out for a run in them this morning to try them out just 5 miles but they made my feet glad. Great shoes.

My Podiatrist dx'd me with Hallux Limitus/ Rigidus and told me to buy either Brooks or these Hoka Cliftons. in wide so my OTC orthotics will fit. He also suggested I size up a full size from my usual 9M.
I have tried both shoes- while the Brooks served me well the Cliftons are much more comfortable. The cushioning and support make my legs feel young again(I am almost 59) and make walking my dog 2.5-4 miles each day possible. I have even done a wee bit of running and the "fresh foam" cushioning is superior to anything I have experienced.
I bought the "tropical" muted tangerine/ aqua colored Cliftons for the Spring/ Summer and will move to a darker color like the Black/Iris for the Fall/ Winter. Very pleased with the new colors- the prior years' were a bit too lurid for me!
I especially like the soft, high rear collar which doesn't irritate my ankle/ Achilles and seems to help to keep my socks in place.
Well done, Hoka One One!

I wasn’t sure how to rate this, as it might be a great shoe for someone. But it was a huge disappointment to me! My favorite-ever shoe is the Clifton 6; Clifton 7 is narrower and longer and less cute :( They hurt the tops of my feet after just 5 minutes of walking through my house (I have an extremely high instep - in Hoka I wear a 7.5 wide). I ended up going with Bondi instead. I ran in them today and they’re incredible! They’re cute too, but I’d love to buy more Clifton 6’s. I hope they bring those back someday! Why change the cut/sizing of such a great shoe? (pic from top to bottom is Bondi, Clifton 6, Clifton 7).

I bought the coral color and I absolutely love them. I’m fairly new to Hoka shoes, I have 2 pairs of the Bondi 6 but wanted to try these Clifton 7 and I honestly think I like these better. The fit is perfect. I wear a 9 but I learned with the Bondis that 8.5 fits better for me in Hoka shoes. The difference between the two types is the Bondi is sooo plush it’s almost bouncy. This one is still very comfortable, not as “bouncy” feeling. I will get another Clifton 7 next. I love the attatched tongue. The Bondi 7 tongue slides around, lol. Both are great shoes though.

I started walking regularly to get out of the house after the pandemic hit. Initially, I would have to switch walking shoes every day just to fend off foot pain and blisters. I tried Asics, Brooks, New Balance, Ryka, and Hoka One One, a brand I’d never heard of before. I ordered all from Zappos. Hokas have become my go-to walking shoes! I can walk miles in them every day without pain and they are incredibly comfortable. The Clifton 6 and Clifton 7 have wonderful cushioning and support. The toe box is roomy and wide enough to accommodate toes with bunions. The look of the thicker Hoka soles has grown on me, too. Hoka One One are my all-time favorite sneakers!

I have been unable to walk long distances for over a year due to a foot neuroma. With a lot of foot therapy and custom insoles... still couldn't walk long distances without getting really sore. This shoes changed everything. Literally zero foot pain. I need to buy another pair.

My daughter’s podiatrist recommended this brand to help her with her plantar fasciitis. She was just about to grow out of her old ones, so I ordered these. She just loves them. They are comfortable and she really likes the color. I think they look nice on her, too.

I wore Bondi's before and after surgery for a sesamoid fracture. But over time I figured out the Bondi's were a little too much cushion and were causing other issues. I bought the Clifton 6's and while things improved, the forefoot cushioning wasn't ideal. I am happy to say the Clifton 7 is the perfect shoe for me. It feels a little wider and slightly more cushioned in the forefoot. So happy to upgraded.

This shoe is extremely comfortable! I can wear them through my workout and for hours afterwards with no issues. I previously had the Clifton 6 and absolutely loved them. The 6 had a small loop on the back which was handy for putting the shoe on, but it’s okay without it. I Strongly recommend this shoe.

I'm a college cross country runner and am in love with this shoe. This show has the perfect support and cushion for long runs on the gravel, pavement, and off-raad. I've owned 5 pairs of these shoes now. They're also comfortable for walking. I think it runs true to size. I have a slender foot and it fits in the shoe well. There's a good amount of space within the shoe. The back heal support is also cushioned and has a good fit. Would recommend and will buy again!

Update on an earlier review: I don't like the attached tongue because it doesn't work with my orthotic. However, I was able to cut the sling out with no problems. The only issue is I discovered the shoe is a half size longer than the clifton 5 that I wore previosly. I can tell because the orthotic doesn't fill the whole length of the shoe the way it does on my 5s. I wear in 8 in street shoes and usually an 8.5 in athletic shoes (with orthotic). But in this I should have ordered an 8.

Hooked on Hoka! 54 y/o, 5’8”130 lbs Plantar Fasciitis sufferer, had it mildly for a while, got worse with increased walking during Covid, to the point of having pain all day, and had to stop altogether. Very depressing and my feet just hurt all of the time. Podiatrist recommended ASICS Nimbus, but still no relief. Tried Kuru Chicane, still had pain. These Hokas are AMAZING. Attractive and so incredibly comfortable - I am back walking again, have the initial morning discomfort and occasional heel pain, but just do a few calf stretches and good to go. I am 9.5 and ordered wide because I also have a bone spur on my outside pinky toe, so less compression on that and it gives me room to add neoprene toe warmers when walking in the cold. Fit is perfect, but I do like a roomy toe, my feet get claustrophobic in a snug shoe.
25 y/o daughter is a runner so I gave her Hokas (she chose Arahi) and she was amazed at how comfortable they are. I alternate between these and my Oofos flip flops during the day.
I did buy and return the recovery shoe, found the sole too bulky and thought they looked like boats on my 9.5 feet. I just ordered the Ora Recovery slide and 2 other Hoka styles for variety (Arahi, Hupana), looking forward to trying them!

The fit was perfect. I have sesamoiditis and had read that Hoka One One Cliftons were a good shoes for this issue. I added a pad to support my toe and I can walk for several miles with no pain! These shoes are so comfortable. Lightweight and like walking on air, but yet stable. I'll buy again!
I'd also recommend:

These shoes help my plantar fasciitis more than any other I’ve tried. But I’m more impressed with Zappos. I ordered a pair last evening (Wednesday) with a delivery date of Saturday. This afternoon (Thursday) they showed up at my door. I’m super happy.

My husband told me I should order these Hokas because I got three stress fractures in my feet and legs from running in my go-to Nike's. He swears the Hokas have cured his issue with getting stress fractures and shin splints. was on the fence about whether I should order medium width or wide width. I went with the medium and these Hokas fit great. So far, so good with my running. They do provide much more cushion than any other pair of running shoes I've had.

I love these shoes! I walk 6-9 miles a day and used to have sore feet. My Hoka's are fantastic. A note about ordering - I never buy wide shoes but the regular width was tight so I opted for wide. I will definitely buy these shoes again.

Love these shoes. Fit great. I had the Clifton 6 before and these fit the same. The the Clifton 5 were tighter in the toe box but both 6 & 7 are great. Material is very breathable, light weight and wonderful cushioning. I use these for walking about 3 miles daily and running several times a week about 5-6 miles.

Cliftons are my favorite in this line. I took these out of the box, put them on and my feet just went aaaah.
They are very cute also and I get lots of comments on these beautiful comfortable shoes.
Also y’all’s prices are the absolute best. Thanks for a great product, great customer service and speedy free delivery.

I bought : other pairs of Hoka’s. They felt more narrow and stiff compared to other styles. I thought they were so cute but not as cushy.
