Buyer beware. These are well-designed neutral running shoes with good cushion and breathability, and for me have had a 50% fail rate straight out of the box. I'm not at all fussy about athletic shoe fashion, but I expect them not to be dangerous during walking and running. As a lifelong distance runner, I've worn out literally hundreds of Adidas running shoes. Arrival of new Adidas has always made me so happy, and for 40+ years they fit perfectly and caused no problems. (I always agonized over parting with worn out Adidas; they were my reliable old friends that had been an integral part of many great experiences.) But in recent years, Adidas running shoes have become hit-and-miss in production quality, even if the shoe design/style is solid. UltraBoost is the best (in their current offering) for my neutral gait and long distance road habit. They don't last long (just 3 months @ 20-30mi/wk), but they're very good -- *IF* you get a decent pair. Unfortunately, with this pair, the footbed was defective in both shoes (defective in different ways). They arrived 20 minutes ago and I was ecstatic to go for a run; now I'm sad and they're already packed up to return. The footbed of the right shoe is so lumpy, I could tell immediately upon standing in them: they're bad. Extremely disappointing that Adidas continues to ship these really expensive running shoes ($180 for 3 months is not cheap) without regard for quality control. The defects in footbed seem fairly common in UltraBoost (50% of my 6 pairs have been defective in <2 years), so I wanted to make others aware that to end up with a good pair of UltraBoost 20, you may want to buy a few pairs with the expectation of returning at least one pair because quality is sadly inconsistent. Don't just suck it up and keep a pair that doesn't feel right in your house! A defective footbed in UltraBoost is really noticeable and really dangerous. Last year I bought 2 pairs of UltraBoost 19; one had a catastrophic footbed defect that caused a very painful foot/ankle injury in just one 5-mi run that took months to resolve. This current pair (UltraBoost 20) is so bad in the footbed, it would probably cause problems for someone using them only for casual walking. Mega kudos to Zappos for their great customer service (legacy of Tony Hsieh, RIP) and policy of accepting shoe returns without hassle and restocking charges. The two other running shoe styles I bought directly from Adidas recently were both defective (all in different ways, and entirely due to poor quality control) and Adidas charged me a big return fee even though both pairs were unworn and returned with all the pristine packaging, etc. So my advice is stick with Zappos, and immediately try on/walk around in all the Adidas you buy to be sure they're ok. Be safe. :-)

I have a lot of issues with my feet and I'm in my 70's. Three years ago I found adidas pure boost. The next year the pure boost didn't have a tongue and it was even more comfortable. So I ordered the new ultra boost 20 and it came quickly. This shoe is nothing like the pure boost. These are all running shoes and the sole shape of these is weird on my foot and doesn't feel stable when I walked around in the house. Maybe its now geared toward runners only. I need stability when I walk my dog so these are not for me.
