Where to start. The Nike Trail 2s are a completely different sneaker than the Pegasus 36 Trail GTX Which is low profile and ultra lightweight. Unfortunately the way they are the same is that there are 3 mm wider in the forefoot than the Road version of the Pegasus. The Nike Trail 2 have a rounded toe-box which I do not like and it feels slightly sloppy. I like a performance fit. The toe fang is a nice protective element and it’s not noticeable whatsoever. The positives are that they came in Black but I would’ve preferred the React foam mid-sole to come in Black as well. The React foam is amazing and super cushy and comfortable for every-day all-day use especially if you’re standing on your feet all day. But due to the stack height which I like lacks serious stability. Just walking you can roll your ankle, which is not good! I could care less about weight, I care about quality and durability. The materials used a really nice especially for the price range. I personally expect every trail sneaker to come in Gore-Tex. The proper treads are finally back on some Nike sneakers! The treads are perfect for concrete, tarmac, broken-up tarmac, grass, packed dirt, and gravel. I expect all my sneakers to have quality grip! I really like the rip-stop material in the back heel. I also like the durability of the soft semi gator. I would’ve liked to seen the gator come up 2" inches at least, it’s super elasticized so anyone should be able to get their foot in to the sneaker with no problem. The material is also utilized in the interior heel cup which is slightly slippery. There’s also a padded heel-pad supposedly to lock your heal in. But it is 2 mm too low, so it doesn’t work the way it was designed to. That’s why some other reviewers were commenting on there’s some heel slippage. The neoprene tongue is nice. But what I really like is the center of the climbing shoelace in the forefoot that enables low to medium volume feet to not slop around as much. It does have a wider toe-box and yes they run true to size in length. This is a true hybrid sneaker, which is an important category I'd like to see get way more advanced. Nike Running inner-souls are the best they’ve ever made. This model offers just medium arch support, I need and prefer more arch support especially in a running sneaker. I can’t recommend these for hard-core trail usage, because I think you will roll your ankle in minutes.
To me ACG’s and Nike's trail sneakers are still not there yet. They have long way to come to get to the next level. I hope Nike and Nike Designers put more research and money into these projects, which I feel are a necessary category especially since I don’t live in the city anymore. Especially since Nike has downgraded the beloved Nike Air Max and are now considered fashion sneakers, and do not offer the quality and durability that they used to have. I think it’s a try and a bye, would love to have them in Gore-Tex! And the horizontal pull-tab makes it really easy to grab and slip-on than a vertical one. I would’ve preferred a mid-gator for a little bit of additional ankle support and to keep out any dust and debris. I like the drop and I also like the heel height as I prefer my sneakers tipped down for a more aggressive stance. But for a true trail sneaker Nike really needs to add some kind of carbon fiber plate in the mid-foot for better stability. I feel they run true to size and are worth the asking price, I would pay more for a Gore-Tex version. I do not run anymore, but I’m an old-school hard-core athlete/soccer player so I know good footwear when I see it, also as a former Sneaker Designer, I expect performance and support even for every-day wear!
And as I've always stated to corporate, if there's footwear that's popular make it in two different widths, one Performance Width which is what I need and desire, and one Wide Width to make every end-user happy.
Keep pushing a Design limits!

GREAT SHOE! I didn’t believe the recommendations about going a half size down because I’ve been true to size in every shoe but this is one I had to exchange. No complains other than sizing half size down.

I wear 9.5 women's Nike (I always buy a half size up with Nike sneakers) so I bought a men's size 8 in this style and they are perfect. Probably the most comfortable and supportive sneaker I've ever bought! They are great for trail, but also light enough to comfortably run on the road. I love the little gaiter on the back that keeps dirt and rocks out of the sneaker on the trail. They grip well and have lots of support without being too clunky. Love them and bought my husband a pair too.

These are an amazing shoe! I will start by saying I haven’t warn them out But they’re super comfortable and Randomly eye catching. I tend to buy shoes for aesthetic purposes. Just to be upfront. But again they’re super comfortable and-as I live in the NW I’m sure I will get use out of these
Pro tip: when buying nikes on Zappos. Go to nikes website for pictures first. They’re photos are always more in depth and better quality than Zappos.

My aging knees appreciate the wide, spongy heel of the Pegasus. The upper is super breathable. Lateral stability is decent enough, comparable to Asics, not as good as most Brooks running shoes. If you like the cloudy ride of something like a Hoka Stinson but don't want to feel like you're wearing your grandma's platform shoes, this is probably a good bet. Also has a full rubber sole, where many others let too much foam contact the ground. I would give five stars all around if the upper were a tad more rigid and the toe box slightly roomier. See also the NB Fresh Foam More Trail, which has a springier forefoot but rides much higher.

I’ve ALWAYS worn 10.5 in Nikes. Rare, but once in a while I’ll need to kick down a half size for a more exact fit. Bought these in black, size 10 at the Nike store. After wearing for a week, the pressure around the Toe Box didn’t loosen up. With this, I felt I had to go back to the 10.5. Ordered new size from Zappos and found the top Lock-Down lace hole was what I needed to fine tune the shoes’ fit. My feet are slimmer from heel to in-step. They go wider from foot ball to toes.

This is a shoe for non-trail runners, not a trail running shoe. They look great and have good cushioning. They're unstable on anything but pavement. I rolled and dislocated my ankle in these shoes on a very moderate trail that I've run hundreds of times. I knew from my first run in them that I was playing with fire but I liked the fit and figured if I didn't do anything too technical or unfamiliar I'd be fine. I was wrong and I paid the price. I wish Nike put as much time and money in to actual trail running shoe design as they do the marketing and style aspect of the shoe.

I have to say these guys look great but feel very sloppy. there is no way I could run in them . Maybe as a walk around shoe but even that leaves my legs and feet fatigued . The tongue is also very thin and the show laces dig into my upper foot and even leave marks . I loved the style and colors but am really disappointed by the shoes . i will stick with my asics . I wish I could return them but I wore them 2 x
