Super comfortable, while keeping it's sturdiness and quality of materials. Love the look, remind me of my days at Fort Dix in 1982. :)

Bought these as a lighter alternative to the Strongfield tactical. I loved the Strongfield Leather Comp Toe and the Strongfield Tactical and wanted to see if these were comparable. When I received them I picked up the box and thought they must have just sent one boot. Nope, there were two boots tucked away in the kraft paper. These take a few days to break in the leather because they are somewhat stiff, but they quickly loosen up and mold to your foot. The leather is very resilient as well. Haven't worn the toe off yet and I kneel and crawl every day. Totally waterproof. Good glue. Excellent traction on wet greasy floors, rocks, roofs

So I worked security for 10 years and that means many different things if you work in that field. No security job is exactly the same but the most in common is standing long hours and foot pain. I ordered the MQC patrol Waterproof wide width because I have flat feet and it was a great purchase. Extremely comfortable, very lightweight, great ankle stability due to the long laces you tie from the back to front. I have had my boots for almost three years and just ordered the Merrell Strongfield leather 8in wide width to replaced them due to the hard work a my new job and it seems the wide width version of the MQC is no longer available. But if they become available again I certainly recommend these boots.

Comfortable and extremely light, much lighter than any other 8inch boots I've had. My feet do not rub anywhere when hiking.

Have had these for a few months now and they are, for the most part, exceeding expectations. They are incredibly lightweight - I kid you not, it is like wearing sneakers - but still manage to have great foot cushioning and feel sturdy/protective. I've spent hours upon hours stomping around on asphalt directing traffic and they are far more comfortable than any of my previous boots. Along with being lightweight and comfortable, they are also definitely waterproof, they have great traction, they seem to be quite durable so far, and they polish up nicely. They are very warm, which I imagine is due to the waterproofing, but they have adequate breathability too. Even on 100+ degree days I have not had issues with sweaty feet or notable discomfort in them, but you definitely notice the heat a little. As far as genuine cons go, the lining of both boots detached from the heel almost immediately; it doesn't appear to affect performance and I've figured out how to take the boots off without pulling the liner up too, but it is still a design flaw in my book. The toe box could be a little wider too, and they seem to run large - I very consistently wear a men's 7 but had to return for a 6.5 - compared them to other size 7 regular width boots I had and there was a significant difference in length, but not nearly so much in width. Overall, though, these are worth the money.

Great patrol boat. Using it patrolling in "The Valley" in south Texas. Happy with it thus far

I was looking for a waterproof boot that kept my feet at a consistent temperature and dry in all conditions and this boot works perfectly. It's high enough to step through unplowed snow, but still compact enough to fit under long pants legs and allow for flexibility. Working security 40+ hours a week with multiple miles walked a day, the boot doesn't give up. The only complaint is the footbed being slightly harder and flatter than other high end boots, but if you don't need any special support then these boots are more than adequate.

I've buffed bee's wax and seal oil with a rag and a soft brush onto the boots leather and across the material in the top. The result was an awesome seal from water that has bean incredible for hiking in the muddy winter woods here in SW British Columbia near Vancouver. I would suggest putting a better insole into them however, I found the one's it came with okay -but a bit on the thin side. I have bad knees which necessitated this, but they are a very nice boot. Great value.

I needed something waterproof that could also be worn during hot summer weather. I'm on my feet all day and these boots are very comfortable. I have only had them a few weeks, but so far I feel that I will buy them again.

Overall a great boot! I wear them between 8 and 12 hours a day on asphalt in the early spring and into the summer. They feel great out of the box with little to no break in time. I was weary not having a side zipper, but they have become a new favorite summer time boot. Also they shine up with little to no effort.

I walk on concrete 12 hours a day during my work week. My feet are still happy at the end of the day. The only drawback is the inside slips up when taking them off and I'm worried they might not last very long because of it.

These boots are super comfortable & look great. I would only wish for an easier lacing system, otherwise they are great

About 3 weeks in so far, and they are very comfortable. The leather is soft out of the box so they're wasn't much change during the break in period. I wear the boot 5 days a week for law enforcement.

I bought these boots to replace a pair (another brand) that I have had for a couple of years. My old pair were light and flexible but lacked cushion. I bought these to see if they would be better. They have been exactly what I have wanted for awhile. They are light flexible and cushioned. There was no break-in period, the leather is soft and ready to be worn. The boot polishes up well and holds its shine. Definitely worth the money.

I wear a size 10 everything Merrill except for boots I found out. They are about a half size big. No where to try them in stores. Not very comfortable for long stands. Toes polish easily with kiwi parade gloss and some time. Still better than Danner Acadia which is what my department supplies. Grip on soles is super nice. Need a little more support in ankles.

I have worn the Moab 2 Tactical Response boot for 3 years and love them but wanted to try something lighter weight. The MQC patrol seemed like a good choice. After wearing them for 2 months I find they are comfortable to wear but my #1 complaint is the outer sole is not Vibram rubber and sounds like they are made of cheap plastic. I will say the boots do appear to be waterproof after walking through a deep mud puddle by accident at night. Time will tell how they hold up. My guess is they won't last as long as my Moab 2 boots.

I have worn the tan MQC boots for 4 years and won't buy anything different. They are the best boot I've owned. So when I had to go back to a black duty, the choice was easy. Unfortunately, I have been disappointed so far. These boots are still incredibly comfortable and, in my opinion, the best looking black duty boot on the market. However, taking my boots off at the end of my shift is a chore. The liner comes out with my foot, bunching up and trapping my foot in the boot. I have to shove the liner down and pull the boot off at the same time to remove it. This has been an issue since my first time wearing them. Further, they squeak and squish so loudly with every step that coworkers have commented several times. I am not a heavy guy and I assume this is even more pronounced with heavier users. Overall, I can tolerate the issues, I just wish Merrill would attempt to correct these issues.

I liked the boot but was disappointed with how the bellowed tongue was only 6 inches when I expected it to be a lot higher. I had got the with the intention of going hiking and going through shallow water. That would be the only thing that would need to be improved. Might exchange then for a different pair

Got the boots and tested them around the house. Extremely comfortable and lightweight, but absolutely no ankle support. If the leather was slightly higher over the ankle bone, these would be perfect. Unfortunately being a K9 handler just coming back from ankle surgery these boots won't work for me. Need the ankle support to work all different terrains. Returned them and got the Moab 2 Tactical response which are great other than the fact they don't come in a non-zipper 8" version (dislike zipper boots). If these had leather ankle support at least covering slightly above the ankle bone to prevent rolled ankles (with the rest of the top half staying the same), these would be a 5*

Purchased these boots as a station boot for Fire/EMS. Overall a nice looking boot but the quality and comfort was far from what I expected from Merrell. Would not recommend as I quit wearing them after two weeks due to lack of comfort and durability issues with the sole pulling loose from the upper.

These boots are super cool in so many ways, but they are HUGE! I am a reliable 7 or 7.5 in women's shoes, so I ordered a 7.5 in these to accommodate winter socks, etc. But they are AT LEAST a full size too large. I have to assume that these are men's sizes rather than women's. Such a disappointment given that they are otherwise awesome. I ordered them on major sale, so they are not returnable or exchangeable. I am bummed.

I purchased these boots approximately a month ago for use in the Fire/EMS service. Initial impression out of the box was that it was a clean, nice looking boot. Upon looking closer they seem to be lacking the quality that I have come to expect from Merrell products. Day to day use has taught me that these boots are hot and do not breath well, presumably from the waterproofing material that is used. The insoles that come provided with these boots provide little to no comfort, specifically when worn for more than a few hours. Honestly the lack of breathability and discomfort make these boots unwearable.

As a first responder dry comfortable feet are key to getting through a 12 hour shift. These boots leaked right out of the box .. leaving me with wet cold feet for 11+ hrs ... Not a fan
