These feel good and fit well, but are a little hard inside -- you aren't getting a squishy, foamy interior. If that's what you want in life, it's great. There's also the downside of the shine on the shoe. Again this is a personal preference, but these kicks are glossier than they appear in the photo, which is not always a great look.

These are about a half size bigger than every other new balance I've owned. Not a deal breaker, just a note on how it fits. The color is basically silver, not as grey as the pictures indicate.

This will probably be the most oddly specific reviews for these shoes but here we go. I bought these shoes for driving (so I'll be talking a lot about driving in them), comfort and ease of use was my primary focus, I know from New Balance's "retro" lineup people will typically buy the ML574v2 shoes for driving so I bought a pair for comparison (I've since returned the 574 shoes, I'll get more into that).
I normally go with 10.5 as my shoe size, I've comfortably worn everything between a 10 and a 12 over the past 15 years (I swear the last pair of New Balance shoes I wore in middle school were a size 12) but the 10.5 shoes seemed a bit too big but I'm sure I could have survived in them if I needed to.
I like how the 527 shoes have the flat parts of the sole with gaps, I feel that gives me good grip. The 574s which I've compared these to are mostly flat on the soles except for little notches that I wouldn't think would be that great for driving (plus they were too wide for me anyway) but I'm no expert.
I haven't worn New Balance in a while and I forgot about the slant and how high the heal is compared to the toe (it changes your balance a lot, maybe they should call the shoes "New Balance" or something), this is pretty nice for me because I'm a bit short (5'8") and these shoes and I feel I have a better reach on the clutch pedal compared to other shoes (it's a delicate balance of my seat is too close and my seat is too far in my car). I do sacrifice a fair amount of pedal feel because of how much material is in-between my toe and the sole compared to what a true driver's shoe will provide but in reality the "serious racer" appearance is not a look I want to go for, I'm thinking relaxed casual 90s general purpose shoe and these achieve that handily, I also like the color scheme of gum/brown, white, grey, black, and red.
One thing that has been throwing me off is the pedal position when heal-toe braking, with most shoes (even barefoot) I'm holding the brake with the ball of my foot on the left side of the shoe and blipping the throttle with the side of the shoe (this is pretty common, you're really only using your heal and toe when you're driving vehicles from before 1914...so...not often...no I'm not making this up) but because these shoes are so tall that's a bit impractical. Thankfully because the heal is so tall I can hold the brake with the ball of my foot and blip the throttle with my heal at an angle. I haven't quite mastered it but I imagine I'll get the hang of it as I break the shoes in.
Overall, these shoes are great

I really love New Balance shoes. They work well whether running or not. They are very comfortable and I love the color. The size is just the size as your normal shoe. Definitely worth the buy.
