This item is leather and it fits snug so there is good stability. Excellent for heel pain

This expensive $180 pair of shoes did not work for me. I need to replace my Asics Kahana trail running shoes, which have served me well for many years. I have owned ECCO footwear, purchased from Zappos, for many years; my usual size is 7.5 Medium. Unfortunately, the ECCO Sport BIOM C-Trail Sneaker does not seem to be up to the past high quality of ECCO. I purchased this in both size 38 Medium (my usual size) and size 39 Medium. The 38 Medium, my usual size, was far too short and narrow - it fit more like a size 7 N. The 39 Medium was too long, and still as narrow as the 38 M.
The design includes this hard plastic top through which the shoe laces are threaded; I suspect that plastic will crack and fall off, and when it does, there is no way to lace the shoe, and will render the shoes unwearable. This was a $180 pair of shoes.
Very disappointed with ECCO on this shoe. I walk 5-6 miles daily, including concrete, hills, etc. I need a sturdy shoe that will last a long time, and provide good support and cushion in the sole. My Asics Kahana Trail runners are many years old, the sole is wearing out, and yet the cushion in the foot bed is better than what most of the shoes I've tried, including these ECCO Sport BIOM C Trail Sneakers.
This shoe might work for someone who needs a narrow fit, and a hard footbed and sole, perhaps for regular daily wear (not athletic use).

Fits perfectly - I have narrowish feet and they fit well. They also don't look as bulky as other trail shoes.

Disappointed. I ordered these shoes in a size 38, which is the same size as all my other pairs of Ecco footwear. This pair, though felt at least a half size smaller, though it claims to be size 38. I wear a 7.5 M street shoe. These BIOMs feel more like a size 7 M. On the sides of the shoe is some sort of plastic design element that looks and feels cheap, and probably will crack or break off in no time.
The shoe does feel lightweight, which is a positive.

This shoe did not work for me at all, unfortunately. I bought this in the size I usually get when buying ECCO footwear. But the ECCO Sport BIOM C-Trail Sneaker was too small and too tight in the size I usually get for ECCO. Then I bought another pair, one size up than usual, and that pair was still too tight. Plus there's some sort of hard plastic decoration or something on the top of this shoe and the laces feed through that - that plastic looks cheap and it may crack or break, meaning nowhere to lace the laces once that happens. I'm disappointed - one should be able to rely on a brand to remain consistent in its sizing. I have ECCO footwear that I purchased from Zappos in the past, and I still wear them with no problems. But now it seems ECCO is making their footwear narrower than in the past.
